This game has loads of gameplay plus you can play online. You can choose to play as one of the 3 races: Terran (humans), Zerg (Biological Creatures), or the Protoss (Advanced Aliens). When you play online you can be by yourself or with other people playing online. There is also the single player experience where you choose to play with one of the races and complete 10 missions for each race.THIS GAME ROCKS. If your thinking about a different game forget it and by this. When i get to my house around 3:00 i usually play it for 3-5 hours without getting up. BUY IT

Space....the final frontier. In this final frontier, you embark on a journey to the outer reaches of the galaxy, where you encounter three races involved in a war for the future of the universe; the Zerg, the Protoss, and the Terran. At this time, the Zerg are invading everywhere and on every planet. Unfortunately, they have hit a couple of stops in the road of divide and conquer. On the planet of Earth; the Terran, future earthlings, are fighting to defend against the Zerg as they have been launching attacks without stop. However, the zerg are no match for the Terran unless the Zerg pull out the Mutalisks, flying beasts that can't be stopped without having great losses. In the meantime, the Protoss have also become a big pain in the BLEEP. The protoss seem bent on destroying their equals as the mission goes, but after the Terran put them in their place, the Protoss seem to want to leave them alone. Then, the Zerg have decided to launch one last offensive on the Terran people............
On the Protoss homeworld, the Zerg are also taking over. The Protoss are on the brink of destruction when one of their kind, disobeying the directorate, have called on the Terran to come to their aid. With the aid of the Terran, the protoss have new hope and more time to rebuild their armies. Most of the time, the Protoss go on their own, asking for help on the way. Then, in their final hour, the Protoss have to call on the Terran one last time. With their final attempt at a counteroffensive........
Now the Zerg, though they may be the "bad guys" in this game, are actually at war with the Protoss and Terran over a big misunderstanding. The Zerg only live to serve the cerebrate, to carry out the will of the Overlords, and just plain are slaves. The Zergs cannot exist without the cerebrate and the Overlords are the only reason the Zerg underlings can be created, to keep them in line. So, the Zerg are going to be on the brink of destruction as well until the Zerg capture Lt. Kerrigan, a Terran commander that now is infested with the Zerg parasite in their mind. She knows many of the Terran secrets and now the Zerg are planning to launch a MAJOR counteroffensive......

StarCraft is a true Classic. It gives you a real-time sratagy game that actualy gives you strategy - without boring the gamers to death. In short - THIS GAME ROCKS! I DEFINETLY recomend this game to anyone! It has a great storyline, perfect controls, a wide variety of units, A POWERFUL campain editor that alows you to use triggers (dumbed-up programing), and AWSOME cinematics! Its perfect. It deserves 10 stars out of 5! It can give you a quik thrill, and it can give you a long imersive experience. Im no majore gamer, But, When bought StarCraft in 1997, i got hooked! now, even 3 years later, I'm still playing the heck out af it as my fevorit game! It NEVER gets tiering! I can go back to the 1st level wich is mind-numbingly easy, and i'll still be entertained! Its an Awsome game - dont hesitate t buy it!

Starcraft. THE most fun real time strategy to date

There are many real time strategies to choose from, and most of them are much more complex in gameplay and in graphics. But folks, I have to say that I have found no RTS that is more fun and addicting to play than starcraft. Since broodwar was released, the game is even more fun! The single player components are very entertaining and the story line is top notch. I want to emphasize that because it is one of the best qualaties of the game. The multiplayer part of starcraft is what keeps me playing. I am really wondering if this game will ever get old to me, but it hasn't yet. This game is perfect for somebody who wants a game for the fun-factor and re-playablity.

This game is one of the best games that I have ever played. If you like strategy games and you want to be challenged, this is the game to get. It may be expensive, but you get what you pay for. With three different species, Terran, Protoss, and Zerg, you get triple the amount of challenges that you expected. So, if you like strategy, science fiction, and tons of action and computer graphics, you'd better get Starcraft!

Can it get much better than this?

Well, of course the answer is yes it can, but after Starcraft, it ain't gonna be easy.

After playing the game for two years I have to say this. The missions in single player mode are challenging and entertaining, focused on helping you master each aspect of a specific species development as well as honing your strategy and deployment skills. The graphics are great for 2D top-level strategy game. It's fun and innovative. On it's own, in a single player sense, it's a great game to be enjoyed by all.

But when you're done the single player missions, comes the fun.

Fire up an internet connection and prepare to be slammed. Think your some guru of Starcraft strategy because you defeated the game? Think again. Pit yourself against the users of Battle.net as you gang up in teams of 2-6 to beat the life out of each other, or the ever intelligent computer. Had enough of the melee maps? Then switch over to the ladder tournament games, or the "use map settings" where custom rpg like games and all out brawls spring forth on your screen.

Think you got what it takes to master this enormously intense and diverse game? Think you can handle it?

Think again.

The best $50 I ever spent (and now you can get it for $20)

Starcraft offers the most replayability of any computer game I have ever played, ever. All my friends have bought Sega Dreamcasts, Diablo 2, and other new games and systems since the release of Starcraft, but we STILL get together every week to play multiplayer Starcraft. Talk about aging well. Make sure to get Brood War, too. A classic in the best possible sense.

I bought this game at the age of ten, and still playing it

For the last 2 years, I have played Starcraft. I find it as exhilerating as ever, and with the multiplayer forum, the fun can last you forever, I reccomend that you buy this game as soon as possible

I have played starcraft for a long time now,and I still like it. I truly belive that it sharpens your mind because it makes you build and manage your base while building defense to stop attacks!!! Plus,if you like to do things your way,you can create your own map to slauter Zerg or what ever other race you want to!!! The storylines are deep and realistic so even the most picky gamer will like it. You can play online at Battle.net for absolutly free against people all around the world!!!

Starcraft is an excellent real-time stragety game. The game has 3 species that you can play. The computer AI is extemely well balances and the gameplay is easy to learn. It comes with a map editor to create your own battle grounds! I have lost many hours of sleep and have even got my wife and entire family to play the game. There has been many nights of playing till the wee hours in the morning and sleepy eyed going to work. This game I will recommend to anyone no matter the age. You don't even need a fancy computer to play (I have 4 systems in my house, a 750 Athlon, 500 AMD, 450 AMD, and a 90MHz Pentium) and all of the systems can handle the game with ease. Excellent play, low cost, can be replayable, excellent multiplayer action, excellent computer play, and a damn good storyline. Anyone who does not like starcraft just does not know computer games.
