Very disappointed with this game, controls fidgety, and worst of all, severe lack of enemies to shoot compared to previous games. Plot poor and puzzles easy. Completed the game in 2 days and wanted more....usual abyssmal ending.Camera angles very annoying to get used to aswell. After all the hype,a big let down.I love the TR games and this aint the best gameplay one. Looks quite good tho but bordering on an almost cartoon feel. Get Splinter Cell or something else for your money. That game is realistic and rocks !

I have bought this game, and at first I thought it was really good. Until I got to the 'Hall of seasons' level. I had also bought a strategy guide to go with it, and it said 'when you have got all four crystals a door opens in the the 'basement of traps' area. But on my game it didn't(typical)! So I e-mailed Edios and Core. I waited a week and a half and there was no response from them. Now I have e-mailed them a second time and I am still currently waiting for them to confirm my game has a problem. Overall this game is not worth it, and they had supposedly got rid of the problems. The service from Edios and core is terrible!

I've just completed the game and I'm feeling a little mixed. First, the game is very fun, without a doubt, the puzzles, exploring, enemies, environments, graphics, and upgrades. But what happened to the secrets! I love the old TR games, mostly because other than the storyline and doing what you needed to do to move on, there was something extra to exlore for; the secrets! I hated how the camera controls and look ability just stopped working in tight spots(I don't know how you play TR games, but I like to look at everything; up,down,in dark corners, brick walls, climbable walls,etc.). There is also glitches and other annoying aspects, like the game slows down sometimes and I had a hard time facing Lara/Kurtis in the right direction with the analog stick(I don't know how many times she climbed over a rail and fell to her death when I just wanted to turn around). The instruction manual had mistakes as well; Square is target not Triangle as is stated in the manual(Have fun with Boaz Returns without knowing that), also I couldn't draw my weapon while in stealth mode. And just a side note here: in the level beneath the louvre, in the sewers I found something that looked like a white can with a pretzel on it, but it didn't show up in my inventory and I have no idea what the hell that was. So basically it was frustrating and fun at the same time.

This game [is] really [sub-par]. The graphics are the best thing about the game. As a gamer addicted to Tomb Raider this game was really disappointing because it strayed so far away from the original idea. The levels are short and it is a real pain trying to figure out the new button configuration. It is also lame how different icons will appear to let the gamer know what they should be doing such as the hand icon that lets you know that Lara can open a cabinet or door. I just want my Tomb Raider back. Definitely not worth the money nor the time it will take to get used to the buttons and new moves.
good but not great

I waited for this game for a long time. I have been a huge fan of the series ever since I got my ps1 in 96. There are some bad and good things about this game. I will start with the bad: 1) Kurtis trent needs to go. 2) Serious slow-down in the middle of the game. 3) Hard and confusing levels. Now the good: 1) Great graphics including the detail on lara. 2) awesome storyline. 3) New features and moves including stealth movement. I would recommend this game but it wasn't worth the extra wait that it produced. No match for tr2!

It has some slow down at points and the control takes some time to get used to, but once you get into the game you are hooked. Many improvements on the earlier games and very captivating. Give it a try...you won't be disappointed.

What is the big deal with wanting to keep pushing back the release date! All the company is doing is trying to make a bigger hype about the game by trying to release the game at the same time that the movie does. This method is all a scheme for Eidos and Sony to make a bigger turnout for the game and make a killing off the little children and overgrown kids, like myself. I love the Tomb Raider series and they could have not picked a better actress to play Lara Croft, but waiting and waiting for the Angel of Darkness to come out is only pissing me off. Not even waitng for the next installment of the Sopronos is this bad. Come on Eidos and Sony release the DANG game and Let us the true Tomb Raider fans get what we have been waiting for and You can be sure that after the movie comes out your product will continue to sell regardless of when it is released.

Believe all the negative reviews you've been reading.
I was hoping those were just bashers for no reason and time on their hands, but no. Its all true in the first alley where you start I found myself levitating in mid-air when I should have been on stairs... The roof scene does slow down when you first get there. You move around using the left analog stick, instead of the directional pad and it makes your thumb very sore.
You have to position yourself exactly to do most anything.
So far its not much fan. There is a chance it can improve as the game goes on... And as you know, there's no TOMBS just Paris so far. Looks nice, you have to use your brain but these minor errors and general difficulty to control make it an average to slightly above average play. Decided for yourself!
good game...bad controls

first of all, a gamer from miami is wrong...u ARE an archeologist and there are monsters ...just later on in the game...at first you are running from the cops and u run around paris and go to a dance club with kool techno music..and then u break into the lourve and its like the chronicles 13th floor level with all the lasers...but then...then u go underground to a ARCHEOLOGICAL dig...and u go to the tomb of ancients in old tomb raider style...its only for like 2 or 3 levels but its very tomb raider3 or 4...there are also monsters like gamer from miami said there werent...in the biodome there are crazy monsters and plants...my ONLY negitive thing about the game...like everyone else...is the controls...they wouldnt be bad if u could change them to the old scheme like in TR1-5
