10 years after its release it still puts every other game on the market to shame

I can't say enough about this game. If I were to write a full on review about everything I thought was amazing about this game it would go on for days. All I can say is even after the release of such games as GTA: San Andreas, Halo 3 and even Nintendo's own Mario Galaxy, Ocarina of time still stands tall above them all. Beyond flawless, a required play for every gamer.

One Of Those Nostalgic Classics

What isn't great about this game? I'm so glad that this game has so many reviews because it definitely deserves it. Ocarina of Time remains one of my favorite videogames of all time. Yes, the generation of gaming is getting wider and graphics are getting beautiful with each console but The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, on N64, doesn't add up to them. Well, at least to me it doesn't. I've seen a few 1 star reviews about people bashing the game only because it's no "everquest" or "Halo". This game is so good that you don't compare its style or graphics with something in today's modern gaming. This is an old school game. You just don't compare old games to new ones. I believe there's a favorite for every generation. This one happened to fall into the N64 genre, when gaming was really starting to pick up. And honestly, you think over 700 5-star reviews were written all by children? We were children when we all played the game! And looking back as adults now we cherish it as a classic and one of the best in videogame history. Kids that didn't get to exprience the NES, SNES, and N64 missed out on a great gaming genre and though the generation of gaming today is awesome there's nothing on the classics.

Ocarina of Time remains my favorite game of all time, even before some of my new favorites and there's nothing like turning on that N64 and playing over and over again. I never tire of this game. It is a true classic.

If you could only play one game in your lifetime...

...let it be this. Writing this review nearly ten years after it's release probably isn't gonna help a lot of people, but it's by far the only game I would ever consider doing that for. Without question the greatest game ever made. Fantastic gameplay, music(beautiful!), graphics and story is only the tip of the iceberg. Personally I think "Ocarina of Time" shows that there hasn't really happened much of significance in videogames for the past 10 years, cause frankly it feels just as good to play this today as it did in 1998. If you didn't get to play this on the N64, you can buy the gamecube-edition, or buy/download it on the Wii virtual console. If you haven't already tried it, then get busy! It's impossible not to fall in love with.

PS: I challenge you to not cry when watching the ending. I sure as heck cry like a baby every time.

This is probably the greatest game ever made. It is perfect. The graphics are at near perfection (for the time), the story is great, the controls are incredibly easy to master, and it is fun. A must have for anyone.

This is one of the best games I have ever played. I love the gameplay. It was easy to control the character. I also enjoyed how it wasn't a very easy game. When a game is challenging, I play it more and more. In fact, I still play this game today. Very good game.

Zelda Ocarina of Time the greatest video game ever..........

This game is the greatest Zelda game ever. And for that matter the greatest video game of all time for any system. It's that good.
STORY...
It starts when Link is summoned by the Great Deku Tree.
He is asked to break the curse. Link frees the Deku Tree from the curse but it is already too late. The Deku Tree tells Link about the beginning of Hyrule and about Gannon so Link and his new fairy(Navi) set out to save Hyrule from the evil Gannon.
Link travels all around Hyrule helping the people from monsters and villians. After Link frees all six sages he goes to the Temple of Time and talks to Princess Zelda who gets kiddnapped by Gannon. As usual whenever someone is kiddnapped Link follows them to rescue the prisoner....
GRAPHICS...
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time has the best graphics for and Nintendo 64 game hands down. The rich beautiful land of Hyrules is just one of the many examples of the great graphics.
I don't think graphics could get any better than what's on
Zelda Ocarina of Time for N64.
SOUND...
This game has great sound. The songs are great and the sound of swords clashing is amazing. I really think this game is better than any other game ever.
OVERALL...
I think this game deserves 10 stars and if I were grading it I would give it an A+. This game is the best game you can buy so get today before N64 rots in your attic.

From a graphics standpoint, this was and still is the best Legend Of Zelda ever. The story was great as well as the gameplay. All and all this was a great homecoming for the Hero of Hyrule. Great game from beginning to end. 10 stars.

The Legend of Zelda, what a great game. It had such magical touch to it. A true adventure, and I did beat it, but it wasn't a walk in the park. I remember getting stuck on the water temple and set the controller down for a month or so. Well I finally did end up beating the game and it was fun and challenging all the way through.

Gameplay- The controls are so smooth and intuitive. Developers definitely used all they could in the controllers functionality which means theres no such thing as too many buttons. No slowdowns in the game whatsoever, and pushed the 64 to its limits.

Sound- The musical score really shined through in this Zelda adaptation. The songs stick in your head and they did. Loved the opening scene with Link riding his horse into the sunset. Another thing is they didn't put in any annoying voice-overs that you might find in other RPGS.

Conclusion- While this is the last Zelda that I've had the opportunity to play, it was however the best one. It's got to be one of the top games of all time. All the aspect of a wonderfully put together game are intact within. Play it, you'll love it!

The King of all Games...

I can easily say that this is the best game I have ever played. Probably the first time I played it was when I was about 6 or 7, and the game itself was a journey I would never forget. It took me a while to beat it though at my age, for example getting stuck at the last part of Forest Temple, took me almost a year to get past that part. Even after I played this game and moved onto other games, many fond memories of this game remain with me to this day, almost ten years later. Of course I played it many more times, and it never got boring as other games might.

There so many things about this game that made it stand out above every other game I've played in my games, the excellent graphics it had in its time, the unforgettable atmosphere contained in every dungeon, not one dungeon was a disappointment, in fact each dungeon had been a favorite at one time or another. The music was another superior factor in this game that supported its reign as my favorite game, the music in the Lost Forest, Gerudo Valley, Zora's Domain, and bascially the entire soundtrack was memorable, my favorite to this day still remains to be the Last Battle track, capturing the epic feel of that fight.

The gameplay is the best ever to this day, many colorful lands, beautiful scenery and different locales seemed so vivid, that it is an adventure in itself, to explore. Your arsenal of weapons that you get throughout the game are quite fun to use, such as a large sledgehammer, a bow that is soon endowed with elemental powers, a mask allowing you to see hidden things that the natural eye would never see, bombs, and others.

If you have a N64, I highly recommend you buy this title, but hurry before the prices rise as this game is gradually increasing, an antiquity it is becoming. I am pretty sure I will play this game many more times throughout my life, it will never get old to me.

A perfect 5/5.
