There Is More To Life Than Zelda

Numerous sources have all endorsed Nintendo's "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" as the greatest game ever made. I see this as an incredible arrogance to assume that this installment to the Zelda series is the end-it-all game of the millenium, especially having played the game. While the polygons add life to the game, the detailing on most of the polygons is poor. The storyline isn't very original because we've continually been bombarded by Link and his Hyrule exploits. When I play a game, I want to play a game that has a high degree of player involvement and emotional impact. When I say emotional impact, I mean a top-down presentation that rivets the player...touches the player in a way like never before. Zelda can't possibly be considered a RPG because there's really no role playing involved...it's just a matter of figuring out how to cut monsters open and solve puzzles. This game has got to be the most overrated game I've ever encountered.

Howard Kurtz wrote a book called "Spin Cycle" that talked about using propoganda to manipulate people. I think he needs to write another one about Nintendo's spin-tactics because the support for Zelda 64 is the result of a massive propoganda machine that has taken strong root in younger, inexperienced players.

If you want to play a good game with excellent story, beautiful graphics, powerful message, touching score and lasting impact, I have only one bit of advice.

Don't expect it from The Legend of Zelda.

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES OF ALL TIME!

This is definatley my all time favourite game. The graphics are excellent (check out Ganondorf's black stallion, so realistic!), it has an interesting storyline and really individual and fascinating characters. I love the fact you can travel back in time from young Link (hero of our story) to adult Link. It is not one of those games were you finish it in one day and thats it, there are so many mini-games, treasures to find and many exciting dungeons and bosses, this game will have you glued to the screen for ages! Also the cinematic scenes are excellent which you will see all throughout the game. I have completed this game and the ending is one of the best of any game. Be careful of some difficult puzzles but nothing undoable. All this in a word: MASTERPIECE (p.s. I also recommend A Link to the Past, Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker)

The best game ever created period.

If you are looking for a extremely good RPG buy this.
I got this game last christmas and I still play it.
The game starts out with Link ( the hero of time ) given a Fariy named Navi. And you have to save the Land of Hyrule. You have to free the Sages, Zelda, and all the people of Hyrule. Because Gannondorf the king of the Gerudos wants the Triforce ( an ancient relic made by Din, Farore, and Nayru the three creators of Hyrule.

There is plenty of levels of sidequests you have to beat. Also there is tons of items you have to find by winning games beating enemies and finding them with the Lens of Truth. Probably my favorite item is the Fairy bow and the Ice Arrows.

After you beat all the Temples ( Forest Temple, Fire Temple, Water Temple, Shadow Temple, and the best Temple the Spirit Temple.) you have to Face of with Gannondorf twice to beat the game. After that you have to beat all the sidequests which rock especially the fishing Game. I beat the game twice so if you get bored with Mario64 and Banjo Kazooie buy this it ROCKS. Anybody that doesn't like this Game is MENTALLY ILL! This game is discontinued so if it isn't at Wal-Mart or Meijer go to your Local Funco Land they will have it.

BUY THIS GAME BECAUSE IT IS THE BEST GAME FOR N64 IT'S GRAPHICS ARE EVEN AS GOOD AS YES PS2. ITS THAT GOOD ALL MY FRIENDS ASK ME FOR HELP ON THIS GAME BECAUSE I BEAT IT FOUR MONTHS AFTER I GOT. PLUS ANYBODY THAT THINKS FINAL FANTASY X IS BETTER THEIR WRONG. OVER AND OUT.

Ok, I figured I'd throw in my opinion as well. Mainly, this review is for people who have not played the game yet and are wondering if they should. Perhaps you aren't too into RPGs or whatever, so it is my job to convince you! First off, it's more of an RPG/adventure combination, since it doesn't use conventional RPG techniques like turns or experience. But that is a good thing, because the way the game is structured allows for near-total freedom as you play it. Yes, like some people have said, you must beat the dungeons in a certain order, but there are about a million other things you can do whenever you want, and that just expands the boundaries of this game even more. It is truly the greatest game I have ever played, that is no exaggeration. The graphics and the sound are wonderful, the puzzles are NOT as easy as some people are saying -- the Water Temple is maddening! -- and the character development and depth of play is unmatched.

Majora's Mask is almost as good, but what makes Ocarina of Time better, in my opinion, is the fact that it is sort of the "ultimate" Zelda game, meaning it starts from the beginning and recreates the entire story of Link and Zelda and Ganon, and it is a completely stand-alone and definitive game. Majora's Mask, on the other hand, takes place right after the events of Ocarina of Time and has a very different structure. The three-day cycle you must live through makes for an extremely enjoyable game, but the only downside is you can't take your time and relish everything like you can in Ocarina of Time.

Either way, though, Ocarina of Time is a beautiful game.

Best N64 RPG Money Can Buy

Quite simply, Zelda: The Ocinara of Time (OoT) is the best N64 Role Playing Game (RPG) to this day. It blends exploration, adventure, combat, and puzzles to an extraordinary effect. The graphics are good and the world in which the player is imersed in is immense and detailed. The story line is deep and enthralling and has a rewarding end. The game-play interface is simple and easy to learn but fully meets the needs of the player in the toughest situations. The game is challenging but simply because the dungeons are huge and many quest will take you outside the dungeons and the temples. During your adventure you gain many powerfull and magical artifacts and weapons as well as items. But you need all of them to battle the myriad enemies you face. If you are looking for a well done, rewarding, and fun RPG for gamers of all ages I really suggest you buy this game. Before yoy know it you wont be able to turn this fantstic game off.
