I own this game and have only played it a couple of times because it really is very boring. It's only a one person game, and it gets really old after awhile (if you know what I mean). But if you live alone, and have A LOT of times on you're hands then buy it. But if you're purchasing it for a young child..... DON'T! They won't like it at all. It's very hard, too. But hey, if you want a very, extremely, hard chalenge... then good for you! BUY IT! But my opinion is.... IT'S BAD! Mario Cart is a much better game. Bottom Line: Don't waste your money.
I loved this game!

We got Super Mario when I was 3 when it came out as part of my Christmas present- a N64. I would play it for hours and hours and I had a blast. Even my mom would sneak on after her shift at work (she got home after midnight) and play because I wouldn't let her near it if I was awake. When I was younger I made up stories in my head and had Mario swimming in the lake with his "friends" or "talking" to the princess or some imaginary thing. As I got older I started collecting the stars-I was 6 when I got all 120. Sadly, we sold the N64 but Super Mario will always be a part of me I can't forget. I had some fun times with this game. I loved the simplicity of it, even though it was challenging at the same time. You can't find a game like this for the new systems today.

i found this game to be a challenge at first, used to the old side-scrolling games of mario it took some time to get used to the fact its now in 3D.
if you like mario you will love thi 3D game.

In 1996 Nintendo released the best game of the year and what would later become the greatest platform game ever made. The game is of course Super Mario 64.The game was so creative and brilliant at the time it became the standard for which all other platform games should be judged. For one this is the Mario game that takes the longest to complete. It isnt hard at all but it just takes a long time to complete because of all the missions you have to do in each level. It was the full evolution of platformers. The graphics at the time were unbelievable and still look really good today. The gameplay is solid and every level is fun.Its hardly ever frustrating and its very rewarding to complete every course. And this is the most diverse Mario game since Super Mario Bros. 3.While Ocarina Of Time is the best game of all time its sort of an RPG.Mario 64 is a platform and the best platform game of all time. The story is simple but has a new twist you enter a castle and jump into paintings to enter worlds filled with enemies and unforgettable missions. While Super Mario Sunshine was a pretty good game it failed to impress me the way this game does.I think that Mario Sunshine should have gone a different route than this game because it would be something new and different than just pretty much the same thing as Mario 64 just not as good.

Here's a cool trick!(you have to have the 2nd key you get from Bowser)
Topic:Snowman has your hat
Sent in from:Anubis
Get your blown off by the big snowman. Don't pick your hat up at all. Instead go get a star (It dosn't have to be a new star)and save and turn off N64. Wait 10 seconds.....now turn N64 back on.
Go back to that level and one of the little snowmen that pops out of the snow will have Mario's hat on their head.
Excellant item

This is the ultimate game! With the exception that it is only one player, it is the most action-packed and unpredictable of any other game I have yet played! The fun never ends, it lasts quite a long time and ranges from easy-ish to difficult, so it's great for everybody. BEWARE: it takes a long time to funish the game.
Nintendo has done it again
