I think that every kid should have at least tried playing Super Mario 64 as it is so good.If you haven't,then you should go now.I like it a lot because of 3 things.First of all,I love going into the paintings on the wall and all the stars in them.Second,I like the 3 diferrent floors and the neverending hallway. And third, all those strategies and acrobatics Mario can do!!!It's a good game and takes a lot time to beat it,so you don't get bored playing it.That's the thing about a lot of games;they keep going on and on and then after a while, you get bored.Super Mario 64 isn't like that so go play it!Ta-ta!

This game is tight!...

I like this game very much. If you have a child you should buy this game. this game is hard but I cant believe how many worlds it has. I already got 70 stars beaten bowser but now I'm trying to get 120 stars so I can finish the game. I've only had this game for 4 months and I have 99 stars. Now I have no idea how to get the other stars. Please give me a clue how to get the other stars. I only need 21 stars because I already have 99.

Super (fun) 64

Yes, that's FIVE stars. Many, many games get boring after a while (a while=three minutes). Super Mario 64 is constantly changing, and is never boring. After beating the game, there are plenty of things you can do. You can collect the other fifty stars (also the rating I wish I could give this game), you can try and beat your time on Peach's slide, and you can replay stars for the fun of it. Currently, I have 119 stars (I have 94 coins on Dire Dire Docks. Help!), and I still enjoy playing it. It still loses to Super Mario World (SNES), Mario Tennis (GBC), and various other games. Buy Super Mario 64 now: it is one of the best N64 games!!!

Super Mario 64 is one of the best console games EVER!

What a year 1996 was for the video game world. This is the year that the N64 launched in North America, and at the same time Super Mario 64. If you were like me, then you had doubts about a 3-D game having gameplay to match the graphics, but Super Mario 64 made me a beliver. To be honest, when I started playing it, I fell in love for the second time. It brought back the same feelings that I had when I first played Super Mario Bros on the NES. So what is it that makes this game so great? If I were to use one word to describe this game it would be "fun". In my opinion, gameplay is king when it comes to video games. Awesome graphics and music come second, because without gameplay to match, the game is simply not very fun. It sucks when you see the game over screen, and you feel like it is more the fault of poor gameplay than your own ability. Fortunately the gameplay in Super Mario 64 is king, and it still ranks among the finest games today. The graphics while dated according to today's standards are still great looking. The sounds and music are classic Mario all the way. If you are into video games, and are even romotely interested in platform (action) games, and you do not have Super Mario 64, then you are really missing out on one of the best console games ever!

Great way to start off 64...

I remember when I purchased this game 4 or 3 years ago and beat it in somewhere around 2 1/2 days. It had been the first actual 3-D game on a console system I had ever owned, and it was a great refreshing experiance for me. (Besides for the blister on the my thumb that developed after the third day of playing =P)

Too bad for the game now, if people purchased this game today, they would look at Banjo-Tooie and think Mario 64 .... You have to always remember that this game came 3 years before the others did, and you shouldn't compare old games with the new... It's wrong. But comparing this game along with the other 1996 games, I think it did very well for it's time and was a fun experiance. Bad replay value though, but eh... ...

One of the best Nintendo games of all time

There are a lot of things that make this one of the best games ever made. The lenght, the moves, the variety, the diversity in the levels, the graphics, the music and the constant fun of playing it.Its one of the best games ever made because you never get sick of playing it no matter how many times you beat it and the graphics are some of the best on the Nintendo 64.The story is a little similar to previous Mario games in that the goal is to save the princess but this time Mario must enter a castle and jump into paintings and walls to enter levels. The other goal is to play missions in each level where as in other Mario games the only mission was to get through a level. Here Mario has to do things like race Koopas, collect coins and even enter a volcano in order to fully get done with each level. So it was very new and innovative at the time which is one of the reasons why it remains so influential.Another reason is that the level designs are very impressive. You cant get much better than Mario 64 even though Sonic Adventure comes close. If you dont already have this do anything to pick it up.You wont be disappointed.

Disappointing...

This is a classic but like Super Mario World before it, it aims to be long but just winds up being too short. The first and last truly long Mario game was Super Mario Bros 3.Now dont get me wrong Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 are both amazing games but they claim to be super long while in truth are pretty short. Super Mario 3 deserved the title of Super Mario World not the 1991 thingy.Mario 3 is more diverse and just seems a lot bigger. Also they could have made some changes for Super Mario 64 before releasing it such as the music in the boos house of this game is boring and they should have just used the same music they used for the ghost houses in Super Mario World. The Bowser level music is amazing and so are the water levels however. They also could have made more levels.Still this game is a classic 10 out of 10.
