Excellent game my kids love it and so does my 47 yro husband! Cool graphics! Good problem solving for kids.

When "Super Mario 64" was released ten years ago, it was instantly the best video game ever created. Simply put, playing this game was a magical, imagination/mind-opening experience; almost a mystical one, in fact. This euphoric feeling and sense of awe that we felt the first time we played this game would never again be matched, at least up until this stage in the video game realm. What made it so amazing was the fact that Mario, who had only existed in 3D in our minds as kids, had now become like the cartoon character we watched on the "Super Mario Brothers" cartoon. The days of Nintendo's rule were the great ones in video games, and it's a shame that kids nowadays won't get to grow up with Mario like us generation x-ers. Every Mario game, for me, was truly magical, but Super Mario 64 was truly revelatory. I spent years of my life playing this game (literally), and still play it more today than another other game available, for any other system. Unfortunately, this was one of the few true masterpieces for the Nintendo 64, and Sony took over with the PlayStation. For me, however, Nintendo and Mario are what video games are all about, and Super Mario 64 was the pinnacle of the entire industry.

The walk down memory lane...sometimes it can be painful...

Indeed it can. I know all of you new-generation gamers probably threw this one in the trash the day you got your GameBoy Advance, but what you don't know is that you have thrown away a masterpiece. I was recently walking down the lane when I looked inside someone's trash. There it was; Super Mario 64 complete with instruction booklet and a Nintendo 64. Excited for my life, I jumped into the trash can and grabbed it immediately. I now have 2 Nintendo 64s and 2 Mario 64s. I am proud to say I've saved another masterpiece from an eternal life in the dumpster.

Super Mario 64's music is cheerful and peppy. It really suits this game well, actually. The opening tune usually brings hardcore old-skool gamers to tears as they think about all of the present games. I'm so glad that Mario hasn't changed to the 'nasty' side of the gaming stick. Nintendo could've done that to boost their sales, but they didn't. They stuck with it. Nintendo, you rock.

First let me say that I enjoy the game super mario 64 very much. I can't beleave that the game has so many worlds to enter and each one more enjoyable than the one before. I do have a problem with one level on the lower floor and its when you go for (wings to the sky) star. does that have something to do with shooting yourself through the rings in the sky or is there more to it. Please can you help... One more thing, does the time on the clock in the uper tower have much to do with the way the level is played. thank you

The first game I ever got, and probably my favorite. For it's time, Mario was the cutting edge of technology in gaming, and the graphics outshine even some of today's titles. The storyline is impeccable. The game is not the easiest to beat though. I still haven't beaten it. I got to 116 stars, then got a GameCube. So many secret places, and many fun things to do, like riding koopa shells or racing the giant penguin. Simply incredible. If you want to experience Mario at his best, PLAY THIS GAME.

for casual and hardcore gamers alike this is probably the greatest game ever created. that title does not come lightly to someone like myself who owns 6 consoles and 2 computers and has played games on other platforms as well over the last 15 years (for some reference, other games that would rank near the top would be metroid, the marathon series of games on the macintosh, the SNES final fantasy games, the SNES zelda game and the new majora's mask, mario 2, 3, world, world 2, etc). there is really no 3d platformer type game even in the same leauge with this one as far as artistry of level design and play control in particular. spyro the dragon on the psx and banjo kazooie on the n64 come closest (with honorable mentions for rayman 2 and rocket: robot on wheels), but they have none of the variety of levels and objectives nor perfection of play control offered here (perfect play control is so much more than a technical matter of tightness and response, there is just no game with such a perfect variety of different moves as this one, moves that can all be used at the start of the game and yet take weeks if not months to master). everyone who has ever enjoyed playing a videogame should own this.

this was my second game i brought after buying blast corps n 98 which was my first game Super Mario 64 was a game made from heaven da graphics are off da scale with mario looking so real u would want 2 eat him and ask 4 seconds please and da music has some remix from da earlier mario days during da original nintendo game system da levels are simple 2 hard not really that hard if you work hard 2 have fun you won't be disappointed at da very end of da end when you get 120 stars not 70 stars you get 2 c mario's green friend not yoda yoshi who looks uglier than mario party looks like Yoshi had a red jerry curl but it is a pleasure 2 see him but sadly u can't ride on top of him like da earlier days he is there 2 run his mouth 4 a couple of mins if u read his messages and give u some extra moves 4 mario 2 use and 100 marios so mario can have more lives than cats because some of the levels in the game allow mario 2 fail continously and after yoshi does that he leaves and get ready 2 train 4 mario party after yoshi leaves and goes 2 da waterfall 2 take a bath u can now fly outside da castle as much as you like since there is nothing else 2 do in the game u can even stay on top of da castle as long as u like but beware if u jump 2 many times on top of da castle u will go n a dark room nside peach's castle which will allow u 2 have no other choice but 2 restart da game so use mario new moves from yoshi wisely now when you finish da first half of da game which is having 70 stars you get 2 c mario's ugly girlfriend peach but u need 2 beat da hard browser on da final showdown on da very top of peach's castle n da videogame when u beat browser he will turn into a big bright star that big star is full of all da stars you have capture n da previous levels and then you will turn into supermario man this is my favorite part of da game mario use his cap with wings and flies like superman but he is da fatter version of superman and is missing yellow on his clothes but da yellow is da star so u can say he is da next superman it is like u r watching da next God after defeating da devil n da videogame(tip of making mario da fatter version of superman put him next 2 a yellow star with his cap with wings on his head take a picture and you will c what i am talking about when mario looks just like superman)anyway after mario grabs his wing cap and puts it on top of his head he will fly right down 2 peach and they will renite but only 4 a limited time because u don't want peach with mario every step of da rest of da game u would eventually get so upset u would want 2 kill peach instead of da other enemies like browser oh yeah n da middle levels of da game n da basement of peach castle n da room where u c a liquid painting i love da level because mario can transform n2 a power ranger like character (or like da characters from dual heroes if u ever played da game) he looks cooler n liquid suit plus he can breathe underwater but his fat weight and da liquid suit keeps him from floating above da water but it is still very cool 2 c i no most people including myself don't enjoy 2 fail but mario makes failiing fun he really does because if u fail from high places mario will scream (like a r2 from star wars three o like a girl u pick on whatever 1 makes u laugh more) all da way until he hits da bottom somethings he will hit his head while he is still screaming and you will c yellow stars not da stars that mario captures but da yellow stars dat give cartoon characters a head aches and when u finish da game and have nothing else 2 do and it is late at night during da weekends play mario and put him n volcano levels da have 120 stars and with 100 lives 2 c him fail l00 times and record it on tape 2 make u own cartoon of mario making a fool out of himself u can call it 100 ways of killing super mario but all jokes aside this is a great videogame and will be enjoy especially 4 people who r big super mario fans like myself

This game is great!!!!!!! I played a friends, and then they gave it to me.. Ive beat it!! I still have to try to get all the stars, but I will!! The game is REAL fun and interactive with many great lands and levels to get the stars, and fun bosses!! The game is just REALLY great, I really love it!! IT ROCKS!!!!

This game is coooooollll! Me Abigail has this game and I have 120 stars. They were soo easy to find. I do not know how I became an expert at this. For your information, I am an expert in all of my video games. I must feel like the luckiest girl in the world. But I'll give you a little info:

Title: Rainbow ride/ Star#2

You'll have to take another magic carpet ride through low-flying areial obstacles to reach the cloud house. The blue blocks that float in your way are bigger on this carpet ride and you'll have to jump on them quickly before the carpet moves out from under your feet. The Magic Carpet will take you through the cloud house twice. On both trips, whatch out for the jet of fire that comes out from the fireplace! I'ts best to stay to the rear of the carpet until the fire is out, then go to theleading ledge of the carpet. If you get knocked off the carpet, it's a log trip back to a spot where you can remount it.( there's a warp to the top of the maze on the Cloud House Balcony.)
