I have an 11 year old and a 9 year old. We have been enjoying this game for the past week. I can't get my kids away from it. More fun than Mario Party- more mini-games, new lands, new fun! I recommend it for the whole family!

An 8 year old gamer from Kensington,Maryland. Probably the best Mario game ever made besides Mario Tennis. It's so cool! Whenever my mom tells me to get off of it I always play an extra five minutes. I know how to get the battle mini-game tree and item mini-game trees but thats a secret I will never spoil for you! Although its part mild-animated violince thats what makes it so funny! The neat part about this game is it's designed for the rumble pack!

Mario party 2 is the best game I have ever played,(followed by Mario party 1!)I prefer to buy this game or rent it. Either way, you will really enjoy it. There are about 64 mini-games, some that have been updated from Mario party like Handcar Havoc. There are 6 worlds, western, horror, pirate, mystery, space and Bowser land. It is a lot better than the original Mario Party. It Rocks!

Make a Mario Party 3

They really need to make a mario party 3 to combine the good things in mario party 1&2. Mario Party 2 had longer game boards which was a lot better then the first, and even though you get the coins from the computer players at the end of a game, there's nothing to do with them once you buy all the mini games. i am up to about 27 thousand coins and there's nothing to do with them! it's kinda stupid. some of the mini games that they should get rid of are= 1)slot car derby=no matter what you do you always manage to spin out. 2)crane game=it takes so long to get every one and you have to get the time clocks to get more time to get everyone, it's just stupid and boring. 3)paddle battle=i really loved this game and it was fun, but to win you have to rotate the joist stick an endless amount of times and it does a number on your hands. i got blisters!from playing once!(they need to make it a 2 vs 2 game). 4) sneak n' snore= it's very hard to win because you have to get in your barrel before he wakes up just to guarentee that you'll survive. when he does wake up and ur not already in ur barrel, you could only get into your barrel out of luck. There are probably others i dis-like but i can't think of them. there are some good things about mario party 2. for the board games you dress up in costumes which is funny, and the items are very useful and i approve of them but you should be able to hold more than one because it's really frustrating to only have one! i really like the dueling glove because you can get lots of coins from it.and the magic lamp(it takes you to toad)is very helpful to get a star on the very last turns. The mini-game stadium trial mode needs some work, they need more then one board to choose from because it gets tiring to play the same board over and over again. On the board game, i am kinda dissapointed that they have less ! spaces because they were fun. and when your choosing the amount of turns you want to play on the board game they should take off 50 turns because it takes about 2-3 hours to play and after about an hour and a half you want to stop. i think this game was defeinetly worth buying and they should make a third one to combine the pro's and take out the con's.

Waaay FUN!

This is the same idea as the first Mario Party game: You play on a virtual game board to earn stars and come across action, such as gaining coins, playing battle or item mini-games, visiting the bank or crazy characters giving you a hard time. And at the end of each turn you play a mini game. Not into playing the loong games? Then play in the mini-game stadium, where you play on a board game with no stars and only mini-games. Or solo play or play individual games.

Some cool new features are the costumes the characters wear, battle mini games and the new board games. Choose from PirateLand, WesternLand, SpaceLane, MysteryLand, HorrorLand or the extra world...

Thankfully, the blister giving rotating games are gone, where you have to thrust the controller stick around and around in a circle to win, and are replaced with new fun games. Best New Mini-Games: Cake FActory, Speed Hockey, Rakin' em' in, Bowsers Big Blast and Magnet Carta. Worst New Mini-Games: Torpedo Targets, Honeycomb Havoc and Day at the races.

This game is great and if you liked the first one you'll like this one! However, some mini-games are missed and the first game had some great board games and stuff.

So here is the deal: You liked the first Mario Party then get this one! If you wanna try this one over the first one then I reccommend you rent both of them or buy both. I've got both and I love em!

When I played this game I was totally captivated by the totally and extremely spiffy graphics and this excitement came to the point where I had a heart attack followed by an out of body experience I finally got inside my body again because without use of my hands it would be hard to play. To put a long story short.... ...its a good game.

Who could hate this game?

The title says it all...its a party! It keeps you entertained, never gets boring, and is definatley better than the original. With more options, mini-games, and the best of the original. Just like the first game, the four-player playing is the BEST. Also, there are more levels, a secret level, and the players dress up according to the theme of the level. And don't believe the review by Jason called Not as Good as the Original (which it is better than the original), which says "You cant even buy all of the mini-games". YOU CAN! Just, that in order to buy the battle and item mini-games, you need to complete mini-game coaster on the medium and hard skill levels. Plus, there are 3 secret minigames: Dungeon Dash (a remake of Desert Dash), Rainbow Run (a remake of Tightrope trechary), and Driver's Ed. Plus, unlike the first game, there are no more games that make you rotate the control stick fast and gives you blisters on your hands. I cant wait for Mario Party 3! (which IS coming out mid-2001)

Good Game, but it's not quite like the first one.

Mario Party is, and still is, in my opinion, one of the best games on the Nintendo 64. It's fun, fast, exciting, and it has good music. (This may seem trivial, but it will become quite important.) When I learned about Mario Party 2, I was obviously excited. The mini-games all seemed cool and the new board games seem fun.

Well, January comes, and I get it on the first day. Overall, this game is very good. The concept hasn't changed from the first one 11 months earlier. Whoever has played either Mario Party or Mario Party 2 should know this already, whoever hasn't, I'll explain it.

The Mario Party series is basically an electronic board game. First, you break open a box Mario style to determine turn order. This game is separated into 20, 35, or 50 turns. Each turn is made up of when one person "rolls the dice" by breaking open a box. A number appears and the person goes that many spaces. You can land on many spaces. A blue space gives you 3 coins (6 in last 5 turns) and a red space takes away 3 coins (6 in last 5 turns). You can also land on a Bowser space, where Bowser comes and causes havoc, a chance game, or a question mark space, where a specific even occurs depending on which board you're playing on. After all 4 players go, a mini-games starts. It can be either 4 players, 3 vs 1, or 2 vs 2.

The boards in Mario Party 2 is actually quite fun, and most minigames are nice. Some, like Torpedo Targets, Honeycomb Havoc, Skateboard Scamper, Abandon Ship, A Day at the Races, and the duel games, are annoying.

Then why 4 stars? Many reasons. The mini-game coaster is frustratingly frustrating on the hard setting. It took me hours to pass it. And the music. Oh, the music. The music, as I said, is one of the best parts in Mario Party. The music in Mario Party 2 is different, and not for the better. Some of the tempos gets on my nerves and it's just, well, not Mario.

But overall this is a good game.

You're probably looking at this fairly long review and thinking that you don't want to read it all. Well, I think that you just might want to read this:

I have been playing Mario Party 2 since the day it came out. I was very pleased at the beginning and then I started to notice the downfalls.

1. When playing the mini-game "Shy Guy Says," sometimes my friend and I (we are both good at the Mario Party games) hit the "A" button when it says to hit the "A" button, and the "Shy Guy" says that we didn't hit anything (and yes we did press it hard enough). This also happens with the "b" button. Today I was "Luigi" and the "Shy Guy" said to hit "A". I even saw the "A" flag rise in the air but the "Shy Guy" counted it wrong (and yes, I was supposed to hit "A" button not "B").

2. I have played all the duel mini games and I have bought 42 mini-games from "Woody". I am 99% sure that that is all the mini-games there are, AND if that wasn't all the mini-games, "Woody" should tell me. In the instruction manual for "Mario Party 2" on page 22 it simply states that "Once you have purchased a set number of Mini-Games from Woody, you can access Mini-Game Coaster." The set # can't be more than all the games, can it?

3. Today I was playing in "Pirate Land". I was "Luigi" and my friend was "Peach". The computer players were "DK" and "Yoshi". "DK" got the first star from "Toad". Then "Toad" placed the next star about 5 spaces ahead of "DK". Of course "DK" got the next star. Then "Toad" placed the next star about 9 spaces ahead of "DK". Gee, I wonder who's going to get the star. "DK" got a third star. We think that the star should have been placed in a totally different area of "Pirate Land".

4. In the mini-game "Move to the Music" a couple times the "Dance Master" didn't press any buttons for you to copy. I didn't press any buttons when it came time for me to copy it (because the "dance Master didn't press anything, and it counted it wrong. What is that about?

Plus- They have used a bunch of mini-games from Mario Party 1 and added different backgrounds to them. Isn't that cheap?

it rox!
