Nothing wrong with this game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 6 / 6

I bought this game for my 5 yr.old and I found that it is highly interactive. First of all, I have read the other reviews, and it seems the main problem is the limited vocablulary and the voice recognition.

I would like to say that when my son first started playing it, he did not understand how interactive it really is. He would talk into the microphone and get no response from Pikachu. He also did not understand that you need to READ what is going on in the game. The game pretty much tells you what to do, if you know how to READ. My son knows "partially" how to read, he can pick words out pretty easily. At first he was very frustrated, for a 5yr. old I could see how it could be. BUT, once i sat down with him and played this game with him for a couple of hours, he quickly caught onto the fact that he needed to READ and FOLLOW direction from Pikachu and the other characters to get anywhere. He also caught on quickly that the phrases or words that you use to direct Pikachu are SIMPLE, not full sentences. Since then, he has sat and played this game for hours without frustration, and has no voice recognition problems.

1. Your child needs to know how to read or partially read.
2. They need to understand WHAT THEY ARE READING to get anywhere.
3. Directing Pikachu is simple using ONE WORD. They even tell you what the words are to direct him! That is why the children playing this game need to know how to read or at least partially read.

I found this game highly interactive, my son has a lot of fun with it, and I believe it is educational in that it stimulates his reading and understanding of what he is reading.

The Game is fun but BORING!!

Yeah, the game is fun FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES!! I played the game and talked to Pikachu and all that (It wouldn't recognize my voice most of the time). But after I did everything, which took about twenty minutes, there was nothing else to do. If you want to rent the game to try out the voice recognition that is good. but dont waste ... to buy the game and not like it after you've played it more than three times.

after reading other reviews of this game, i can say i agree with all the pros and cons. it is an extremely frustrating game. but it then turns right around and rewards you.

most of the "older" kids who play this game say they became bored. well, i'm in my late 40s and i find this game wonderful. yes, pikachu "pretends not to know" sometimes and the quiz show cannot understand me sometimes, and those dang poliwags! but the rest of the game is just so pikachu...if you love him, you'll probly love this game no matter how frustrating it gets. besides...if you've ever seen an episode of the cartoon, you know pikachu doesn't always listen to ash, either. so that factor of it makes it more realistic for me.

pikachu and i like fishing the best. (:

all in all, i'd say this is a pretty great game if you have some patience with it. if you have no patience, yeah...get a pet fish. don't forget to feed it.

Cool and Fun Game!

I am 13 years old and I think this is a very fun game. The graficks are very nice. Pikachu could understand everything you say. I asked if he like Bush or Gore and he thundershocked me when I said Gore and smiled when I said Bush. Each game pack has a Pikachu with different personallity. Who knows maybe your Pikachu likes Gore instead of Bush. Some parts of the game is hard. (some parts are even hard for me, and I'm extreamly good at beating games) So it's not just for young kids, it's for everyone! And belive me. I'm very picky at chooseing games.

This Game Was Sorta Okay

I bought Hey You, Pikachu when it first came out - costing me eighty dollars. It was not worth the money, and its already gone down in a few months by 50%. If you really like to say stuff to pikachu, and want toplay little games with it, then go buy this, by all means. I'm 12, and I didn't really think much of this game, but I enjoyed it for about 3 weeks. It has become boring, so I play it only a little bit. It *was* fun at first. This would be great for littler kids who think its "neato" to play & talk with Pikachu, but those with a more mature mindset would think its quite...well...silly/stupid. If you play, then don't for a while, then play it again, it becomes fun, but not for a long period of time. I love Pokemon, but I think they coulda done a better job on this one. The graphics are pretty poor too, so if you are a perfectionist, this is a no-no. It depends on who you are, and how much you think you would enjoy it - spend your money wisely!

Gamer from NYC, The game did not cost 80$. It only costs 75. But The game is really cool, it's like a tamagotchi that is actually fun. The pikachu has feelings, like scared, happy, mad, and sleepy. Hope this helped.

I tried the Japanese version of this game, it's sort of like a virtual pet thing. The voice recognization is really good. I would have rated it 5 stars, but i can't read Japanese, so i don't know the whole story.

This is a good wholesome game fun filled for children and parents that are young at heart this is a game that everyone can count on not to show vilonce (i think thats how its spellt) every one in the family can sit down and play. Its a fun interactive game with a micraphone that allows you to communicate with the cute furry pikachu.I would recommend this game to any one especially parents with children from the age 5-12 its a cute entertaining game for anyone.
