This is a really cute game that allows you to "talk" and interact with Pikachu. Please be advised that you NEED the voice recognition unit and a microphone to play this game.

Hey you pikachu is a fun game. I'm 9 don't like pokemon that much anymore, and I LOVE Hey You Pikachu. You get to talk to pikachu using a microphone, I havent played it for a while, because the mic got sucked into the vaccum...But I have another one comming my way! The Pinata Party one was really frustating because you have to talk realy clearly and at Pikachu's POV (Point of view)His/her Right might be your Left and Vice-Versa. On the picnic one you have to gather stuff to get a good stew. The first time, you can't move on your own and you can't pick up stuff. It gets better when you unlock other parts. Once you get more pikapoints, then you can buy stuff from abras shop. If you leave pikachu in the house for a while, Pikachu, (Like the little devel it is) will throw tissues everywhere. For me, I like having the room a mess. And then after a while, I tell pikachu to clean it up. Sometimes pikachu won't listen. If you gather food from the picnic part (In your bag), Some of it will appear in your garden. When you tell pikachu to ThunderShock a corn or potato, The corn will turn into popcorn, and the potato will be baked. Even though when pikachu has to leave back into the wild, you can still play with him/her, I cry...(I don't think that was nesscary to say...) The ending is cute though. Ovarall, I think this is the BEST game EVER!

My friend has this game and as I watched him I must say It was pretty cool. I mean how you first met he found a treasure chest. I didn't really have a nintendo 64, but I had to get it along with another game. I went on Ebay bought a Nintendo and Zelda and now I'm gonna try and get this, with my dad of course.

This is a great game! I haven't played it in three years because the renting store I got it from closed down. But I can remember lots about it, and can remember one thing that not many people discovered: You can make Pikachu use techniques! By saying, "thunder, Pikachu!" you can make him use electric attacks. You can't fight, though. In my opinion, you should buy this game.

I love this game. It's really nice if you want to take a break from games like Pokemon Stadium, for one thing, and it's also nice because you actually get to talk to Pikachu.
Unfortunately, he only recognizes certain words, but that's not such a problem.
In this game, you get to make friends with a wild Pikachu, and later he comes to live at your house. Then you get to have all these cool adventures with him.

There's only one problem with this game, and it is this:
To unlock a certain part of the game, you have to complete this one activity called "The Piñata Party". Unfortunately, it can be extremely frustrating, because Pikachu tends to not understand what you're saying, so he'll slip on a banana peel or hit the ground instead of the piñata and blow the whole thing, so you have to start all over.
I always have trouble with this part. On a few occasions, I eventually got so frustrated that I found myself yelling things like
"Go left! ...No, LEFT! ...I SAID 'LEFT', YOU LITTLE MORON!!!" but it was all worth it once I'd completed it.

Also, you can't give Pikachu a nickname in this game, but it doesn't matter at all. At least, not to me.

In conclusion, this game rules. 'Nuff said.
And it has an interesting surprise "ending" once you've accomplished a certain amount of tasks in the game.

My favorite Pokémon N64 adventure!

It's nice to be able to have a Pokémon adventure that does not include continuous battles with other trainers, this is what makes games such as a Pokémon Stadium or Pokémon Puzzle League sort of boring after a while and makes games like this one and Pokémon Snap a break from constant battling.
"Hey you, Pikachu!" is one of the most innocent child-oriented Pokémon 3D Adventures, it takes you away from the standard world of Pokémon trainers into the world of Pokémon caregivers and your task is to raise a little wild Pikachu you find deep in Viridian Forest. Pikachu will take you along on picnics, fishing trips, piñata parties and simple fieldtrips where you meet a bunch of Pokémon favorites in their natural habitats. Sadly, only the sweetest and cutest Pokémon like Bulbasaur, Charmander, Oddish or Poliwag are included, larger, meaner Pokémon like Onix or Electabuzz (To name a pair) had to be excluded since they didn't fit in the game. The game has different places to visit, some of them come from the Pokémon Game Boy games and some are completely new. You can help Pikachu take care of little Caterpie and help them evolve into Metapod and then pretty Butterfree, help collect ingredients to have a picnic with Bulbasaur and help Pikachu water Oddish and evolve them into Gloom and Vileplume. The adventure is a lot of fun and the greatest thing about is the fact that the game does not revolve around making selections with the controller buttons, but you can actually use your own voice with a special Nintendo 64 exclusive device included with the game.

I've heard a lot of complaints about this VRU (Voice Recognition Unit) system, but I've never really had any problems with it. The system will work fine if you know how to use it properly. Here's a few tips for those who may find this device troublesome.

-Make sure your device is plugged onto the 4th controller slot, it will not work if connected somewhere else and make sure everything is plugged into place.

-Make sure your TV isn't too loud when you talk to Pikachu, because if it is the system will have trouble recognizing what you say.

-Speak proper English. Speak slowly and clearly and make sure you are not too close or too far apart from the mocrophone, have it right before your mouth.

-Also, see that you keep the appropiate "L" button pressed down the whole time while you speak and don't release it while you are talking.

If you follow those hints, the VRU shouldn't give you any problems. The only complaint I would have about this is the clip that attaches the microphone to the controller, it is very fragile and breaks easily, we had it replaced twice.

The game has decent graphics, standard Nintendo 64 and the animations and movements are sharp and well done. Pikachu is a very realistic Pokémon and behaves naturally. Pikachu is very cute and fun to play with, he acts like any real pet, he gets happy, excited, sad and angry and it is your job to keep him happy as much as you can. Surrounded with beautiful music and very heartwarming moments, the game is challenging, fun, entertainment and a must buy if you would like a break from Pokémon battling and take some time with another kind of Pokémon adventure.

Absolutely wonderful!

Picture this. You are in your room and your mom wakes you up saying, "Oak's test is today!" You are 10 and you get up and go out the door to see what the test is. You find Prof. Oak and say, "O. K. I'm here." He then tells you that your test requires friendship, not a pencil! He then tells you, "Your test is to make friends with Pikachu!" You are told to speak to it, so you press Z and talk into the microphone. SURPRISE! Hey You, Pikachu isn't a book. It's a GAME!
First of all, this game is okay. This game is okay because of the animation. It doesn't look REAL, but pretty close.
Second, this game is great. This game is great because you can ACTUALLY make a friend! Using a microphone, you can ask questions, help it's friends, and help it buy MERCHANDISE!
Third, this game is awesome. This game is awesome because you don't have to do much to gain points! Just press A to pick something up, press START, and press A again to store it for points at the end of the `day'.
Last of all, this game is excellent. This game is excellent because you can build social skills. What it lacks in animation, it makes up in building social skills.
I give this game, out of 1-10, a 9! I recommend this game to everyone. Its rated E for EVERYONE. It's only for Nintendo 64 systems. It's only at the price of $15.00, which is CHEAP for a game this unique.
