One of the best video games ever

I've watched my two sons play this game for several weeks now, and I can attest to the addictive quality of Donkey Kong 64 for people who enjoy video games. The game incorporates incredibly imaginative situation, colorful backdrops and scenery, and an assortment of entertaining characters. Throughout the many game settings, there are innumerable small touches of creativity that can't help but maintain a player's interest. The 3-d graphics are amazing (the inclusion of an "expansion pack" helps here), and the possibilities for adventure and challenge are virtually endless. There is even a subroutine in the game that presents the original, early eighties version of "Donkey Kong" in its entirety. This game is a winner.

I gave this game five stars because it is fun,fun, fun. It is a challenge but you have fun while you are playing. You have to rescue DK's friends and save yourself at the same time. This is a game that everyone would enjoy. To advance you have to collect golden bananas and feed regular bananas to a pig to open the boss door. Only one character can enter to fight the boss. Inside you have to fight and if you win you win a key. UMM... I forgot what the key was for.

DK 64 is a very cool game. It is a lot of fun when you are rescueing the other Kongs and getting golden bananas. It would be more fun if it had more characters like Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong.

All said and done, this is a good game. Thanks to the Expansion Pak, the graphics and sound are excellent. There is tons to explore, and there are many puzzles and challenges. However, I did not give this game five stars because I kept feeling like I'd seen it all before.

The storyline is certainly familiar; Donkey Kong Country's villain K. Rool and his horde of Kremlings have taken over DK isle and it's your task to use Donkey Kong and his four Kong pals to defeat him.

Secondly, the game bears more than just a resemblance to Banjo-Kazooie. The physics of some moves are similar (e.g. Kazooie walking up hills and Lanky walking up hills; laying eggs and throwing oranges; backflip animation is nearly identical.) The music in certain areas is also similar.

If you're a fan of Donkey Kong or Banjo-Kazooie, or just want to see the graphics, I recommend this game.

I think donkey kong 64 is a very good game for gamers who think all their games they all ready have are very easy, because donkey kong 64 is definently not! For parents who like nonviolent games without blood and gore this is the game! All that happens after you knock the cramp out them is they go flying and fade away.(exept the bosses of course)For kids who like adventure,action,collecting items on the way,good explosions, fabulous graphics,background music and a "meeting the characters rap" at the begining,some very funny scenes,then just sit back and admire DK 64.

This game is great. It combines all elements of the Donkey Kong Country series including mine trains, roller coasters, hairspins, while adding 3 characters you have never seen. Dixie's little sister Tiny is one of them. This game is confusing at some parts. I would strongly recommend a guide. Here are some ratings.

Diddy Kong is my favorite character.He is so full of spunk.
I like this game because it is challenging.I think it is interesting that there are different colored bananas.

Whene I got this game i thought it whas going to be great,but as i got further,it got more boring.Still i'm more into Sports{games and real sports}so it didn't work out the way I thought.Still this game is good and if you like dk,buy this

Overall this is a great game. The graphics are not all that good since they made the gamecube the graphics are way better. They are still good though. It is fun once you get used to it.
The controls don't work as smoothly as the gamecube, but the do the job. Overall it is a fun game. They just need to inprove graphics and controls.
