Don't waste your time

I too was a fan of the first two Turoks and was looking forward to Evolution for quite some time. However, it is one the most obviously rushed games I've ever had the displeasure of playing. The control is terrible - there are a total of 2 different configurations, which is unforgivable on a system like the Xbox (or any for that matter). The aiming system is completely flawed; if you try to aim higher than head level, your gun will suddenly jump to the sky OVER AND OVER. Once again Acclaim proves they're in it for the money. I know this may sound like a repeat of the previous review, but I was shocked when I saw the scores for this game. No skilled gamer would play this game and rate it 5 stars. Yikes.

DO NOT BUY!

I bought this game the day that it came out. I had played the previous Turok games, and thought that this baby would rock my world. WRONG! Each mission takes like an hour to beat, with tons of enemies with shotguns, etc. while your armed with a pistol and some arrows. The A.I. just keeps coming, and when you think you've killed them all, more are on the way. There is very little dinosaur hunting! You are always fighting stupid lizard/cyborg things. The cut scenes stink, with absolutely NO plot. I can't beleive that I bought this...It should go down in history as THE WORST TUROK GAME EVER!!!

Where did I come from??

When you start the game you come out of no where... And there you are! And you have to do who know's what! The graphics stink. The story line is the worst I've seen. And how come there is a cave dude who goes around in time and there are rocket launchers! And lots of other things like that like shot-guns and such. And as the other reviewer said about that thing that blows up when it dies. Now just cause this costs 5 bucks doesn't mean you should just buy it! Save up your money for.. the Battle Front and KOTOR games. Those are the best games I've ever played.

Rent it first before you regret buying it !!!

One of the worst game that I've ever played. The AI is pretty dumb. Not much action, it is more on jumping, running around and getting lost. Cant play 2 players against AI (not like in Halo). Oh did I already mention that its boring.

I really wanted to like this game

I like most FPS games. I truly enjoyed the previous Turok games. I had known about this one for months and was really looking forward to it.

My local Blockbuster had it on their shelves a couple of days early. "Great!" I thought, rented it, took it home and began to play.

How very, very disappointing. Playing it is such a letdown.

Dull, lifeless, flat textures. Uninspired, linear level design. It's easy to move, but hard to aim.

Particular low points in the first five minutes: When you're being attacked, it's usually hard to tell if you're being shot or being eaten. Watching the alligators move in sync with each other like some reptile dance troupe was laughable. I thought perhaps when a Triceratops knocked a tree over that I was meant to climb it. But no, I couldn't climb it - but I could walk straight through it.

It took about twenty minutes to become completely disillusioned with the game and turn it off. That's probably a record for me.

This is coming out nearly a year after Halo, but it's a joke in comparison. What on earth were they thinking?

Is any body having troubles with this game jamming up with a sign saying drity or damaged dic? I have other xbox games that do it also but not like Turok does! I don't know if it's the xbox or the game! As much as I've been able to play it's a fun game, I just don't get to play it for long!!

WORST GAME EVER!!!

I don't play a lot of games and at first I worried that it was just me that hated this game. I feel releived that the hardcore gamers agree with me, this game sucks. I played fair for hours untill I got stuck at the prison camp then I turned on cheat codes like "invinsibility" YOU CAN NOT SAVE DURING A LEVEL!!! Only at the end can you save. This means a lot of starting way back every time you die. Lots of the enemies are hidden so that you cant find them unless you walk right in front of them and either get killed or so severly wounded you have to start over. The game was actually kind of fun with the cheats on, lots of carnage and you could just run out there and slug it out. I was enjoying the levels, especially the flying ones, when I got stuck on the temple level. I couldn't reach one of the crystal keys required to advance. With the cheats on I couldn't jump high enough to reach it! Just to say I finished the game I plugged in the cheat that advances to the end. Killed the bad guy in five minutes and returned the game to Blockbuster, nuff said.

COULD be a 3.6 stars

The main reason for this game getting such a LOW RATING is because the control configuration is REALLY MESSED UP. You have to play with one of the two ways they give you which are basicly the same. And also the levels are easy to get lost on. IF you don't already have HALO buy it instead of this garbage.

What the hell is this?

Do not buy this game. Even though it is only 5 bucks on Amazon, and probably cheaper elsewhere the shipping wait is not worth it as you will put it down in the first hour or so. When i got it it was lame when all you do is shoot tiny little dinosaurs that could easily be stepped on. All the weopans suck and the only one i wanted was the nuke that you only get once(if you dont use it, it doesn't carry on to the next level) I wanted to see the end of the game but i despised it too much to bother playing it so i used cheat codes, the end almost sucks as much as the game. Multiplayer blows and the controls are retarded.
Save yourself the frustration of looking at it next to your xbox

Not a good 1st Person Shooter

I should start off by saying that I am a huge fan of the first-person-shooter (FPS) genre. Unfortunately this game sorely fails to live up to any expectations. The game play is sluggish and unappealing. The graphics are sorely lacking, especially given the X-box's potential. The 3rd person flying mode is also uninteresting. Like the 1st person shooting mode, the flying mode has sluggish game control and boring graphics. Sadly, if you want a good FPS game, all you really have for X-box right now is Halo.
