Turok - Great fun for [$]

I bought this game when it was still in the "brand new" price category of [$]and have really enjoyed the challenge. It's not a perfect game ... sometimes the controls are a bit too sensitive, sometimes I get killed while spinning randomly in search of a small dinosaur nibbling my ankles, but overall it's a very respectable FPS. If you're worried about the "storyline", "voice acting", "plot progression", or some other garbage, go elsewhere. If you want a decent, well priced, FPS that can provide quite a few hours of inexpensive, single player enjoyment ... I recommend this game without the slightest hesitation.

I've played a lot of adventure games lately for example
The video game The Thing it was ok but, I've just played Turok Evotion for the first time and I'd say it was five qualitiy

EVERY THING THEY SAID ABOUT THE ENEMY AI IS TRUE, VERY TRUE. IN OTHER WORDS, THIS FIRST PERSON SHOOTER IS LIKE HALO. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO PLAY WITH STEALTH OR FORCE, ITS YOUR CHOICE BUT BE WARNED EITHER WAY YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY AND APPROACH THE ENEMY WILL GIVE YOU A TOUGH INTENSE FIGHT ON ANY SCALE. YOU ARE NOT GONNA JUST WALK THROUGH THIS GAME. YOU ARE NOT GONNA RUSH THROUGH IT EITHER. WHY? CAUSE IF YOU GO FAST THROUGH THIS GAME YOU EGO WILL GET HANDED TO YOU IN A BAD WAY. I KNOW. ALSO THEIR ARE SOME MISSIONS WHERE YOU MUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND NOTICE EVERY THING. IF AN OBSTACLE LOOKS TO OBVIOUS AND JUST HAPPENS TO "STAND OUT" YOU CAN BET THERE IS TROUBLE GETTING READY TO SNACK ON YOU. THIS GAME HAS A DESIGN THAT LETS YOU SET YOUR SELF UP FOR FAILURE AND IT WORKS GREAT. ONE MORE THING, IF YOU GET CORNED OR OVER WHELMED REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND KNOW YOUR SURROUNDINGS CAUSE IN A LOT OF THE MISSIONS YOU WILLL LEARN TO USE ENVIROMENTS. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE HOT STUFF AND YOU THINK YOUR ARE ALL THAT GO AHEAD AND PLAY TUROK:EVOLUTION LIKE A MAD MAN. SURE YOU CAN BLAST EVERYTHING TO BITS IN YOUR WAY AND SURE THERE ARE AWESOME WEAPONS BUT THERE IS A CATCH.....ALL YOUR ITCHY TRIGGER FINGER HAPPY GLORY DAYS WILL COST YOU CAUSE MINDLESS BLASTING IS NOT ALL WAYS THE BEST ANSWER TO DESTROY THE ENEMY. AND EXPLORING IS A BIG PART OF EVOULUTION TO. IT MAY NOT SEEM LIKE IT BUT THERE ARE SECRET HIDING PLACES TE BE FOUND. TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY THIS GAME BECAUSE IN THE END YOU'LL FIND THAT THIS IS A COMBINATION OF THE BEST FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS OUT THERE. AKLAIM DID AN EXCELLENT JOB WITH THIS SHOOTER. HOW THEY PUT THE BEST ELEMENTS FROM THE BEST FIRST PERSON SGOOTERS IN ONE GAME IS GREAT. ALSO THE WEAPONS ARE WHY TUROK IS ONE OF EVERYONES FAVORITE. TUROK IS BACK AND I SAY AKLAIM IS GONNA GET BETTER WITH TUROK SERIES CAUSE NOW THEY HAVE THE HARD WARE THEY NEED TO PUSH THE TUROK SERIES OVER THE EDGE.

...this game was not all it was cracked up to be. Some of the graphics are nice, but you get a feeling that it lacks the polish I require when shelling out [the money]. You can tell that game development was ported from another, less powerful system than the XBOX. I'm willing to bet market timing forced it out the door a little fast, because this won't be able to compete with the titles coming out for the Christmas season. The game play is fast and smooth, but the jumping and weapon handling are rather awkward. Falling off of things is easy to do when jumping because the player's view does not seem to be consistent with algorithmic realities of time and space. There's a trick to jumping and all, but the physics, player control and graphics conspire to annoy you after a while. Turok Evolution made for a good rental with a friend, but I'd buy something else when the new generation of XBOX games and XBOX LIVE come out in Nov.'02. (reviewed Sept-2002)

The main reason for this game getting such a LOW RATING is because the control configuration is REALLY MESSED UP. You have to play with one of the two ways they give you which are basicly the same. And also the levels are easy to get lost on. IF you don't already have HALO buy it instead of this garbage.

With all the hype on this game, I really expected to be playing a fasinating game like Halo. To my surprise, it turned out to be less than exciting, if that. The graphics are not even close, the game play and control are both lacking and I got to wondering if they really beta tested the game at all, or were they jumping ahead to make the bucks. A real disappointment. It could have been the best, but continual frame skips, lack of character control and no save feature make it a hard game to enjoy. And is'nt having FUN the purpose of a game anyway!? Too Bad!

What's hot:
-Decent gameplay
-Gruesome dismembering and decapitaton

What's not:
-Those are some really ugly graphics
-Controlling the Pterosaur can give you the creeps

What's strange:
-Why does the act of butchering your enemies have to look so fake?
-Could the Pterosaur work on its turning?

The awards for:
Scariest enemy:The T-rex
Worst weapon: The shotgun

The overall:
If you like to hunt down dinosaurs, this is your game. Otherwise, just don't bother with this at all.

it has an awesome arsenal of weapons, but gets a little anoying.
the little dinosaurs run around you and gets on your nerves that you can't nail him. (I held myself back!)
If you want a shooter thats fun, leave this one out!

I am an experienced gamer,i been playing videogames for over 20 years,so trust me on this: get out there and buy this game. The graphics are exellent, and so is the gameplay and the sound,i have an exellent dolby digital 5.1 sound sistem,and let me tell you somthing,just wait 'til you hear a t-rex growling right behind you,it's impresive,trust me. You still reading this? get out there and buy it!!!
