Turok is back

Turok is back and all shall feel the wrath of Turok coming to every system, personally turok is my favorite video game series ever. Ive owned every game. This new one really looks like its coming together very nicely. First off it is a prequel to the first and you have the ability to play as tal' set and there is an emphasis on turok's return to the jungle, lots of dinos, o lot more than the first. tricertops, braciasaurus, tyrannasaurus rex, parasolafalus, stegasaurus, velociraptor, and tons more and they all hunt with very a very advanced AI system. also the jungle levels are fully destructible. And other than the dinosaurs there are hundreds and alien, human, mutant hybrids to deal with, like endtrails and purlinns. think dinotopia, meets Jurassic park, meets Starwars, and mix it in with lots of very big guns, gallons of blood and endtrails, and a great story line youve got Turok:evolution. The greatest game to come out for any next generation console. also did I mention it has a great 4 player mode almost as in depth as super smash bros(exept with lots of blood and big guns in first person). This game is a definate must buy, forget about the previous tuork games you didnt like and read some more reviews on this game, you MUST OWN IT!!!

Top Notch FPS

If you liked the original Turok, you'll love Turok Evolution. This is the game that the Turok team wanted to make on the N64 but couldn't due to hardware limitations. The graphics and sound show the power that the current generation of consoles has over the 32-bit consoles. The lack of fog and the flying levels are two examples of this. The only dinosaur first-person shooter out there, and it's a great game.

Can't wait for the release of the finished version

The Enemy AI in Turok is great. The weapons make me want to shoot and shoot and shoot. Cool level bosses and great scenery make the game feel almost like a movie. You'll be waiting to see what's around every corner.
Having played a production demo recently, made available through a canadian developer, I can honestly say that I am looking for the Release Version of this game to be one of the all around best video games of the year. Vivid landscapes, killer weapons, great graphics, and most of all, lots of fun.

Just pre-ordered -- AAA FPS

Just put my preorder in. Judging from what I've read on IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, etc. I have to say this has the potential to be the FPS of the year. It's also a BIG game according to the previews, so I'm looking forward to getting some quality time in with the over the top turok arsenal.

IT'S OUT!!! I AM PLAYING TUROK RIGHT NOW!

So far so good...the graphics are better than HALO and the framerate is consistant. Right now I am in the second level which is a flying level. You fly on the back of a Terradactile and manuver through caves. This game it not easy and I think it's gonna take a few weeks to get through. This is the perfect game to occupy your time between HALO and HALO2 IMO

Oh..........my.............god

This game rocks! I confess, i hated last three turok games, but EVOLUTION will keep you glued to the tv. The graphics are awesome, control's silky smooth as Halo (no slowdows!!), and the multiplayer is a blast! Jumping is no big deal, since its used just for novelty. Story is alright, but who cares about the story when you are having soo much fun!! Two bad things though, the game can be tough at times, and there is no online multiplayer options, then again Xbox LIVE isnt out yet. These can be easily overlooked when you have friends over, and have a great time for hours to come! Either you liked Halo or not, you will love this!

Oh so much wasted hope. . .

...Just bought the game tonight and I already hate it. Where to begin? The awkward controls (jumping is a hassle)? The crowded, overdrawn-on jungles (lush environments, my eye - you can't see 2 ft ahead of you)? How about the much hailed enemy AI? They're smart enough to miss you with every shot and not respond when you're mere inches away.
All this awesomeness in the very first level.
And don't get me started on the flying levels! Alright, maybe just a little. It's almost as if you have precious little control over the behemoth in the sky, and targeting enemies is damn near impossible.
Que terrible!
Please oh please for the love of all that is holy keep your money for a better game. Or better still get the original for the 64. This version just plains eats it.

I really wanted to like this game

I like most FPS games. I truly enjoyed the previous Turok games. I had known about this one for months and was really looking forward to it.

My local Blockbuster had it on their shelves a couple of days early. "Great!" I thought, rented it, took it home and began to play.

How very, very disappointing. Playing it is such a letdown.

Dull, lifeless, flat textures. Uninspired, linear level design. It's easy to move, but hard to aim.

Particular low points in the first five minutes: When you're being attacked, it's usually hard to tell if you're being shot or being eaten. Watching the alligators move in sync with each other like some reptile dance troupe was laughable. I thought perhaps when a Triceratops knocked a tree over that I was meant to climb it. But no, I couldn't climb it - but I could walk straight through it.

It took about twenty minutes to become completely disillusioned with the game and turn it off. That's probably a record for me.

This is coming out nearly a year after Halo, but it's a joke in comparison. What on earth were they thinking?

Turok is The Best XBOX game since Halo!!!!!!!!

This game is great!!! I just picked it up today. It reminds me of Halo. The only difference is you are fighting dinosaurs. You have flying missions on a teryidactile's back. I have yet to receive all of the guns. And as everyone knows that is the best part of all the Turok series games. This one is better than the original on N64. It is also very difficult, which is very important so you don't run through the game in a week. It is so funny when you kill the dino's with poison arrows. That squirm all around the floor and puking. You also can blow their heads off. If you were a fan of Halo, buy this game now!!!!!!!!!!

Great Game

Turok on XBOX is very good. I'm very early in the game but, it plays so well. The controls are right on and the gameplay is alot of fun. Turok starts out pretty easy but, the skill level seems to be going up as I get further. If your a FPS fan then you should love Turok. The only problems I found so far are a few visual glitches and a quirk in the controls when your flying. Sometimes you can come up to the surface of water and it looks like your still under. When you see it you'll know what I mean. When your in the flying portions of the game you sometimes can't turn as you would think. There were times I turned right for instance and the game throws me left all of a sudden which is very frustrating! It's too late for me to switch and turn left because I'll crash so I keep pushing right and sometimes I'll just make it and sometimes I'll crash. The flying controls are good for the most part but, I think they could have done more work on that portion of the game. Oh, one last complaint, the enemy AI is goofy sometimes. Again, for the most part the AI is very good but, sometimes it's quirky. I'm really pleased with Turok and am happy I bought it.
