Very original game that requires skill and finess

First off, I have played every racing game out there and this is a unique one that might be worth a play but it requires skill and not speed, which might make it far too hard for younger players. The gameplay is original, as for the accelerator you pull the right trigger and for the brake you pull the left trigger! You start with three cars and earn nine cars in the game. The cars are based on speed, acceleration, handling and traction. So you pick your car and pick a color then pick one of four cities, San Francisco, New York, Tokyo and London to race 1 of 200 circuits. What makes the game so unique is rather than racing against other cars, you race along a street course, with cones set up and you must go between the cones to get Kudos points. You can get extra Kudos points by doing stunts by really tight turns, or fast turns, or doing donuts in the middle of the street. That's why the game is unique, that doesn't mean everyone will love it, because it can be frustrating going through the cones! If that's not for you then there are "free races" where you select a city, select a circuit and race against five other cars in a winner take all race! With all of that being said, the big feature is the music, you can record your music with the X-Box and play your tunes on the car's radio, so you never get tired of the music!

Project Gotham Racing is visually stunning. The vehicle detail is only matched by the exceptional detail given to the surroundings as you speed through NY, SF, London, and Tokyo.

While I found the gameplay somewhat unique (as unique as you can get while driving a car), most people I have had over to my house to play it found gameplay rather difficult to get a handle on.

Still, once mastered, the game is rather fun to play.

Project Gotham Racing Rocks it has great graphics, awesome game play. I would think that there is no game better then Project Gotham Racing. The best/fastest car is the Ferrari F50 and the coollest course is level two San Fansisco there is a large hill that you can gets you huge air.

Excellent Game! Cool music bonus. X-box allows you to store your own music on its hard drive. This game has an option to play the music you've stored. The sound track that comes with it is great but nothing beats your own choices. I've set my up to randomly select a song from 5 of Aerosmith's best CD's.
Graphics are very realistic. This game has an option to race against a "ghost car" of your best time for any track.

This game was a great launch title for the system. But unfortunatly the number of cars you can take advantage of are very low. Graphics are perfect, there is semi realistic damage done to the cars when hit and they do handle like the actual cars, but I don't recomend this game to anyone who is not a car lover and understands the handling of these types of cars.

This is a game that is the best in some area's and the worst in others.

Gameplay
Good idea, but it is to hard, to annoying and there aren't any bonuses like shortcuts or special areas or different routes. It's all race like this and nothing else. Strategy has no effect in this game, which is probably the worste part.

Graphics
Wonderful graphics. If every area was as good as that this would be my favorite game in the world. It is taking advantage of everything Xbox has to offer.

Sound
Wonderful. Over 30 songs, plus you can create your own soundtrack. Wonderful!

Variety
This game lacks variety a lot. I mean GT Racing 2002 has over 120 cars while this only has just more than 20. The tracks are hard which makes it hard to enjoy the big lot of tracks it has to offer.

A player can easily get wrapped up in this game. It can be fun for all ages, however, after a while it becomes a little redundant. As far as racing games, I do feel as if this is truly one of the best that I have played...if that is what YOU are into. The grapics and sound are both awesome...and I would recommend this game to all race car lovers and children everywhere!!!

When I first saw this game I knew I just had to get it. Thats the last time i'll get a game before i rent it first. It all out [stinks], you have no turning, no good cars at first and even after you have all the cars then what... I hope in the future he/she will make better games. Dont buy this game. Save your money and wait for a better raceing game that Gotham Racing =)>

I have been playing this game for a while now and i am impressed with the graphics, race styles and attention to detail. The graphics show things like, dents and broken brake lights if you crash, and the drivers head and right arm moves every time your car shifts. This really impressed me. I also like this game becasue it rewards you for accuracy, as well as speed, which is a very important thing in becoming a good video game race car driver.

The only negative aspect of this game that i have noticed is that everry time you come into a corner, you have to use your brake and skid/slide into the corner, and then floor the gas to get out of it so you barely avoid hitting the wall. While the larger the slide, and if you pull it off you get points, some players may find it annoying to have to do this while racing.

I recomend this game for all ages, and people with a need for speed!

HI, I AM BEING SERIOUS HERE. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I EVER PLAYED. AT FIRST WHEN I WAS DECIDING WEATHER TO OPEN IT OR NOT I TURNED TO AMAZON.COM TO GIVE ME CUSTOMER REVIEWS. MOST OF THESE REVIEWS SAID IT WAS TOO HARD. BUT DESPITE THESE BAD REVIEWS I OPENED IT AND PLAYED TWO HOURS STRAIGHT. THIS GAME IS AWESOME YOU CAN EASILY TURN... IT IS EASY AT SOME POINTS, CHALLENGING AT OTHERS BUT AS LONG AS U DON'T GIVE UP THIS GAME IS AWESOME WHEN U GET THE HANG OF IT. I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE EVERY ONE TO BUY THIS GAME. WHEN X-BOX GETS INTERNET PLAY. I LOOK FOWARD TO BEETING ALL OF U... THANK U HAVE A NICE DAY. BUY IT!!!
