Solid game

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 1 / 1

MHF is a solid war gaming experience. The sound effects are amazing, and the graphics are well above average. The maze is set up nicely with realistic barriers that keep you confined to the battle area. What I also love about this game is you don't need a "guide or help" book. You "call" back to headquarters and they guide you to the next step.

What I also like is the surprise of some of the missions. The orders will tell you something and tell you "it should be no problem", until it is.

Some of the missions are quite difficult on the medium level. This is a good thing, I hate games that are too easy.

The AI is quite good. However I have always believe creating a variable AI would increase replay of all games.

This is a solid game and is a welcome addition to an XBOX library.

If you like war games this is a must have.

Good game that hasn't really changed over the years

When the first Medal of Honor game came out on Playstation 1 several years ago, I was blown away by the intelligent enemies, great sound, great graphics, great level design, weapons, & gameplay. Now that Medal of Honor has entered the XBox world, it is still most of those things, but the developers haven't changed it. It has possibly the best sound that I've heard in games on Xbox, but the graphics are very dated for a new generation console game. They are only slightly better looking than the Playstation 1 Medal of Honor games & it looks like they're using the same graphics engine they used about 7 or 8 years ago. Also, the enemy AI doesn't seem as good as it did on Playstation 1. It's definitely not a bad game by no means, but the developers need to put a little more work into the next game to keep it up to date with other games releasing nowdays. I would give it a 3, but they added multiplayer to it over the PS2 version.

It Just Never Gets Boring!!!

I've been searching for a game that lasts, a game that I can play for at least a month and not want another one. I love WW2 games like MOHAA and DoD for the PC but I've never been able to find a game for Xbox that is good, and replayable. At first, I didn't know what to expect from it. I beat it and then thought "Oh man, this is like Halo, I'll love it for a few weeks then need a new game". Then I kept playing it, and I never got bored. There's so much stuff to unlock that it doesn't get old. You keep playing it over and over. There is no drivable vehicles or great incredible cenematic moments, like Halo, and it looks like it could never compare with Halo, but its more fun. The level design and freedom in this game makes it more fun than Halo. Period. The only thing Halo does better is multiplayer and graphics.

Graphics 6 out of 10 6/10

Audio: 10/10 this game has the best audio you ever heard, I forgot to mention that earlier. The music is symphony made wit ha good choir.

Life: 10/10

Level design: 8/10
Weapons and gadgets: 6/10 it has most Nazi and American WW2 weapons but misses some, plus they don't let you use any British weaponry, wich would have been nice.

Controlls: 6/10 they really bug you if your used to Halo, you feel sluggish and the aiming crosshair is a small cross. But you do get used to it, and when you do then the game gets really fun.

Medal of Honor: Frontline: The Best WWII game out there...

You people who think that this game lacks things, you need help. It is a funa nd challenging game that puts you in the shoes of the heros of World War Two. It is an advanced game of weapons, AI, and extremely fun levels. If you people who think that this game feels like doing chores, or lacks in certain areas, you are full of BS. THis game is one of the most advanced games of World War Two there is and is quite a memoribilia for the herioc soldiers of WW II. The first leve, The Invasion of Normandy, is quite a thriller. It takes you behind the scenes of the beach siege, where it was one man for himself, considering the historical data where they dropped there by themselves anyway. Some people say that they die a lot and that they do not have a in-level save option, that is because they want you to play the game and have fun. If you have to kill a lot of Germans then so be it. I THOUGHT THAT THIS GAME EXCELLED IN GAMEPLAY/WEAPONS/ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. I WAS AMAZED AT HOW ACCURATE THIS GAME WAS AND HOW MUCH FUN IT WAS ALSO. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU BUY THIS GAME IMMEDIATLY.

BETTER THAN IT'S SEQUAL

This along with Halo is perfect for a FPS single player GAME. This has multiplayer and it's mediacore. This is all shooting enemies , pushing switches and shooting out of vehicles, so you can't drive vehicles like in Halo.

This has to have the best begining in a game along with Halo. D DAY mission is great but could of been alot more better than the PS2 mission. They improved it by adding more tank stoppers and there are not enough of your people and the level feels empty, when you go running onto the beach you only get shot and why won't the opponents shoot the rest of the men on my team. It should of been like Saving private Rian with more people.

You'll have fun on this for a couple of months if you've never played the game before. This has good music, atmosphere and the Sniper Rifel is very good.

One of the best WW II Games In History

This is an awesome game. I beleive that every person with a PS2, Xbox or anythign should have this game. IT is one of the best World War Two shooter games in the history of games. It has authentic WW II weapons includin the WShotgun, Panzershreck, Bazooka, BAR, STG44, MG42 mpunted machine gun and many many more. It also has authentic World War II battlefields, including the fight for Normandy and Operation Market Garden. The enimies have advanced enemy AI for this type of game but it dose have a few faults, but that dosent interfere with this awesome gaameplay. Excellent picture, you can set your own controls or choose froma variety of computer made controls that suits you. This game has an extensive line of challenges and levels, it will keep you busy and when you ge tto the final mission you'll wish it wasn't over. This game is definantly worth the money and time/trip to the nearest store to get it.

I Love MOH

I'm not a hard-core gamer, because I have a job and a life, etc., but I got completely addicted to this game. I love the aim function. You can either move and shoot at the same time -- reasonably accurate, depending on your coordination -- or you can stand still and pull the left trigger to take dead aim on a target. With any weapon the target enlarges slightly, and with the sniper rifle you get an excellent, easily-controlled scope. I found this to be much more realistic than other games where you can just spray bullets in the general direction of the target and hit it. With this game, you have to actually aim correctly, and you have to hit your target in the head or the middle of the chest to kill him on the first shot (except with bazookas). The fact that you cannot save in the middle of a level is annoying, but does make it more challenging. I have completed the entire game on Easy and Normal, and on Difficult I was stuck at The Golden Lion for at least 6 months before getting through it with a gold star. The various medals you win along the way look very nice in your medal case. I love this game because I love using actual WWII weapons, not sci-fi weapons that don't exist (plasma rifle? gimme a break), and I love the history behind it. My only other complaint is that I wish there was a rated-M version for adults with more blood and gore.

Winning the medal of honor must be hard... but fun!

This is a really fun game. The beginning lvl to me was hard and intense. But still i love it! Get it for around $20 bucks new and you have yourself a deal. The graphics are good but not the best. Storylines good. I think its one of x boxes best war games! But be ready... its hard and intense!

While it can't compete with games like Brothers in Arms or Call of Duty, it's still a fun Xbox classic that's worth a try.

This game truly brings back old memories. But by todays video game standards, Medal of Honor Frontline has definitely seen it's day and you get kind of a been there, done that, feeling while you play it. Frontline's simple run and gun concept gives it more of an arcade-like experience, which definitely turns most gamers away, especially with games turning towards more of a realistic combat experience (Brothers in Arms, Ghost Recon, etc.) But the pure fun of running through it's linear levels blasting Germans away is what keeps it alive, making Frontline worth playing.

The reason why my gameplay rating is low is because of Frontline's linear levels and simple game concept. In the game, you play as Lieutenant Jimmy Patterson, who is basically a one-man super soldier. Therefore, you pretty much go through missions alone and without allies, and when you do have fellow soldiers, you are still doing all the work. You can get shot hundreds of times and not be phased. This makes the game incredibly unrealistic. But on the plus side, the weapons, locations, and soldier uniforms are all fairly accurate at representing their real-life counterparts, which helps to add a much more realistic feel to the game. But still, for gamer's looking for a simple arcade-style shooter, look no further. But for those looking for more of a realistic simulation of WWII combat, I'd definitely recommend looking else-where, with my personal recommendation being either the Brothers in Arms or Call of Duty series.

The graphics are actually not that bad, considering their age. While some landscapes and character models & animations may look ugly at times, they certainly get the job done. Weapon models look and feel surprisingly good and will show some resemblance to their real-life counterparts. Overall, the graphics look pretty good.

The sound is one of the better portions of the game. All the weapons sound very good and help enhance the lacking gameplay. The voice-overs could use some work, but they at least help put some life to the characters. The music is great and fits the era and game perfectly.

The bargain price of $10-$15 is probably worth the money to add this classic to your collection. The single-player isn't incredibly long, but the multi-player is pretty fun and should keep you busy for a while. The game doesn't have a whole lot to offer, so it might be better as a rental.

The storyline isn't incredibly strong and could have been a lot better, but their is something about Frontline that makes it highly addicting. I don't know what it is about it, but it has an incredibly high tilt level and it is extremely fun to play, even if you are a one-man show.

Medal of Honor Frontline used to be a great game in it's day. But like I said, with game's turning towards incredible realism and more life-like, non-linear, open-ended gameplay, Frontline definitely does not deliver. With it's linear, been there, done that, gameplay, Frontline doesn't appeal to most gamers. Despite these problems, the pure-fun of Frontline definitely makes it worth playing. This makes me believe that Medal of Honor Frontline will remain being an Xbox classic.

Disappointing for WWII fans

This is MOH's first major debut on the XBOX, and apparently, many faults are taken into consideration.

First of all, the World War II gaming industry has always been popular. MOH: Frontline, needless to say, arrived with great anticipation. EA promised an accurate, intense, experience, describing it with the motto "You don't play; you volunteer." Here is what they delivered:

The game overall is accurate, with real historical figures and real events, seen through the eyes of Lt. Jimmy Patterson, who were in such operations as D-Day, Market Garden, and Nimjigen Bridge. EA even gave feelings to the weapons, making them as authentic as possible.

But what this game lacked was gameplay. Many times, objectives are just to shoot blindly at some fixed target, with no real goal. Marksmanship is rarely taken into consideration in this game. XBOX was designed to deliver the best graphic quality of any video game console. The graphics in MOH: Frontline are a joke. It looks like something from PS1 or the Nintendo 64. Movement is choppy, the scenery and backgrounds look blurred and the software bugs are just too annoying. It is very hard to distinguish items from another in this game.

The overall idea of a franchise where centered in World War II is a great concept, but MOH just continues to disappoint with each game, with poor gameplay and just terrible graphic quality.
