Halo raises the bar on FPS ,solid game .But its too short I rented it and beat it in 4 days.The reason to own this game is for the multiplayer. I wish all FPS woud use HALO'S game design .Im sure HALO 2 will raise the bar again.Lets hope. If you liked GOLDENEYE 007 , this game is a must.

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said about Halo? This was the game that got me hooked on videogames again after a long hiatus (my last console before the Xbox being Sega Genesis). It's not that Halo is revolutionary; what it really does is take all the elements of a good FPS/action game and hone them to absolute perfection. Halo exhibits a level of polish and attention to detail that I have rarely come across since. The controls are very intuitive and the graphics still hold up remarkably well today, now two or three years after the game first came out. I have never once had a problem with framerate drops or glitches. The game does have its flaws, though. Perhaps the most glaring of them is the reuse of certain indoor environments, which becomes really irritating during "The Library" level more than halfway through the game. Some sort of display map or something would have also been helpful on several occasions. All of these issues aside, Halo is a must for any fan of action or FPS games. It's to the Xbox what Mario was for Nintendo and Sonic the Hedgehog for Sega.

This game is absolutely awesome. I dont think I'll ever get tired of it. This is the reason all of you out there w/out an xbox need to get one. This game has great graphics, great gameplay, and it has great replay value. What more need I say, Halo is awesome!

While this game has an interesting but easy to follow story line the real pleasure is sharing the adventure side by side with someone else. Handling movement takes a little practice (think Bond 007) but once you get the hang of it you can blast away with an array of weapons you find along the way. One of the most creative aspects of the game comes with the AI of your squad mates as they react on their own to being attacked or killing a foe. Some of their responses are so realistic it's funny. Graphics are XBox par and sound is definitely on track. The story and gameplay does not provide easy save locations. Not actually a set back but rather a challenge to get to the end of a chapter were an auto save takes place. Difficulty levels range from easy (aliens run away) to legendary (you better not go alone). My advice is have fun and remember to share.

Finally a game where humans and aliens don't co-exist!

There is nothing more satisffing than walking into a bunker of unsuspecting alien grunts and letting hell loose with your flashlight-equipped assalt-rifle. This is just one of many splendid seens that will probably occur in Halo. Not just your standard first-person shooter, Halo pushes the limit where other games fail (I almost changed my middle and last name to "Half-life"). If you are not running over a hord of shock troops with the humv or getting buc-wild with the needler, you maybe to busy drooling over the beautiful graphics that aare really the icing on the cake. With a deep plot, innovate design and glorius graphics, Halo goes above and beyond and is most likely the best game I've ever played (mario, man, mario...).

Wow! What an incredible video game. This was the first video game I bought for my new X-Box and was I in for a treat! Incredible graphics, great playability, and cool sound effects coupled with a confusing but intriging plot make for the best game I have ever played. I would recommend this game to anyone who is looking to have hours of enjoyment gaming as this game as this game has all the things that a great game needs. Bottom line...Halo rocks!

I'VE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR ON MY FRIENDS XBOX UNTIL I GOT MY OWN. IF YOU'RE GOING TO GET AN XBOX YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS GAME NO GAME COLLECTION IS COMPLETE WITHOUT IT!!

It is without question the best game on the Xbox/PC!!!
*Jaw dropping visuals
*Stellar Multi-Player that you be playing for hours on end
*best sound & and original music to be in a game since the
begining of video games
*Awesome voice work
*Vehicles in campain & multi-player
*Huge multi-player maps
and
*Enthralling story with a twist so big you'll have to change your entire fighting style to get through the game

Do your self a favor and buy this game!
If you don't have an Xbox, buy one, cause you haven't lived until you have played this game.
(To expand your mind on the subject of Halo, read through the three novels. You'll thank me later.)

thats what would describe halo. this might sound funny. but i found the game to be challenging even on easy mode. ill probally beat it on normal. but i wont even try heroic or legendary. that said this game is awesome. the graphics will make your jaw drop. the gameplay is more exciting than action movies. and youll find yourself humming along to the music. halos soundtrack actaully adjusts to the gameplay. for instance you might here a dramatic orchestratal music beat during your more intense combat. the controls are flawless. i never had to fight them not even once. you get to pilot 4 veichles in halo. warthog-jeep. squrpion-army tank. ghost-groundplane. banshee-assault aircraft. all these veichles are awesome youll have fun with them. the weapons are awesome too my favirote is the shotgun. there are unpredictable story twists at the end. so expect the unexpected. the weapons are the shotgun. pistol. sniper rifal. assault rifal. plasma pistol. plasma rifal. needler. rocketlauncher. fuel rod gun. and flamethrower. and all the soundeffects are usaully spot on. this game is great go get it. the only flaw i can find is that it runs at 30 fps instead of 60 fps.
