No doubt about it. You heard the hype, you heard the rumors, you read the reviews. There's only one other thing to do to prove to yourself that this game is as great as it is put out there as. Pick it up and try it out for yourself. You will definetly get caught in the game, the story, the sound effects, the graphics, Everything needed to give you plenty of hours of game play as wells as a lot of fun taking out the convenant.

I'm gonna start off by saying this, Halo is the best game ever. All of the people who tell you "it's not that great" are lying, plain and simple.
I beat the game quick on easy, and it took a little while longer on normal, but you want to keep playing and getting better. I'm trying to work my way up to Legendary setting so I can see the extra movie added on to the end.
Anyway, sure the single player may be somewhat short, 10 levels really isn't that short but it can go quick, the multiplayer is almost flawless. No, actually it is flawless. There are so many different scenario's and ways to play them, along with a lot of levels. The multiplayer to me was surprise, because when I picked it up on launch day I hadn't heard much about anything but the single player. If you have the money to pick it up along with 3 extra controllers like I did you'll have you and three of your friends up for hours. (Believe me I did.)
The multiplayer is great, the single player is great, the game is....well, great. A must buy for an Xbox gamer even if your not used to playing those kinds of games, which I'm not.

I have always shyed away from "shooter" games because I always thought they were just for boys. Halo is the first game of this type that I have spent very much time learning how to play. I have to say that this is an awesome game! Yes, there is some blood and occasionally you have to kill an alien with your bare hands but I've never had a better time doing so. Graphics are an A+. The feature I like the most is that when you are killed, the game picks back up almost right where it left off. This is a game that you won't be able to put down!

Halo, is the best action game ever. No game can compete with it. It has great graphics and it seems real. The way people talk to on the game make it more real. It's like a war out there and you are the commander of all the MARINES who backs you up most of the time. This is truly a great game

Halo brings the vibe and thrill that has been lacking in FPS (First Person Shooting) Games for a long time. Golden Eye was the FPS game I found great. Mainly what brings this game to live is the great multiplayer mode, and the high replay value. The story line itself was somewhat lacking, and somewhat intriguing. Especially when you beat the game on Legendary, it shows an confusing clip that makes you question the storyline. (I don't want to give away the story for those who have not played the game.)Still it gives a great sense of suspense you would want to keep playing, but after beating the game the story line would seem a little lacking.
The detail of the multiplayer maps are amazing, in Sidewinder, the amazing cracks on the ice, in Sidecreek, the amazing graphic for the water. Whenever a grenade is thrown, a bulletmark is made, there is always a realistic mark made. Graphically, this game is the best FOR ITS TIME. The effects are also 0utstanding, the explosions and wwhen the ships lauch off, when you are on vehicle and you are kicking up dust. AI is also very intelligent, when a grenade is thrown near the enemy, they know to GET AWAY from it. A minor glitch is that when a grenade is thrown ON the enemy, they will run toward their crew and kill the whole crew which is what you want but kind of stupid.
The sound was also outstanding. You hear yourself and the enemy and your allies. Explosions sounds surreal, if you have a home theater, it would sound like you are actually in a explosion. The gun shot are realistic. No flaws here!
Gameplay in really worth mentioning. I would never thought that wacking can kill so many people and the motion looks great. Reloading the pistol gives you a Western cowboy feel because you wack relaod and he spins it on his hand. Every motion of yourself and your enemy is captured closely. Some minor flaws are when you walk sideways you don't see the motion of the legs, you just see yourself moving sideways. Only Minor Flaws here.
As I have mentioned above, replay value is extremely high. WHen you and friends get together, this is probably the best choice to play.
The rating "M" is here for a reason. The amount of blood is this game is amazing, and the bodies of the enemies stay after you kill them, which I would find that realistic, unlike Goldeneye which that the bodies just disappair after awhile, maybe that is why the rating is "M" for Halo.
Overall, Bungie has really done a great job. This game has great value. IF you dont have this game, this is a must get. Best multiplayer with friends.
Graphics: 10

If you own a X-Box HALO is a must have! It is the best game ever, on any system. The graphics are beatiful and the gameplay is quick and smooth. In campaign it has a wonderful co-op feature and in multi-player the maps are brilliant, filled with wonderful places for sniping my favorite. This game is the BEST you must buy it!

this is the best game that is not on live. however since u cant play it on live it is not as good as wolfenstein which offers endless hours of entertainment.but this game would be 100 times better then wolfenstein if u could play it on live or if you could at least! play bots gosh but oh well i guess it isnt fare to say its not perfect because it doesnt have live because it came out before xbox live. SO if u own an xbox buy this game simple. oh yea and parents this game does have alot of gore in it but your should still let your kids play it because if u dont they will become more violent then they would by killing aliens with guns.

In the end, Halo can't quite compete with the best of the PC gamnes, most notably Half Life. But what Halo does well it does VERY well. The graphics are sharp and clean, the controls intuitive and fun (which was surprising for me, being used to a mouse and keyboard).
What holds it back some is that there aren't a whole lot of weapons and the repitition of enemies. The game starts you out with access to most of the weapons in the game, and no matter how far you are, you will probably always find yourself falling back on the trusty assault rifle. Later on, you do get a sniper rifle and rocket launcher, and the vehicles themselves count as weapons (especially the tank, which is cool beyond words).
The covenant are cool and fun to destroy over and over, and on each increasing difficulty level you can easily see how they get smarter and the game more difficult. The highest difficulty level will have you creeping through hallways, fear clutching at your heart, with a sweaty controller in one hand as you try to snipe the next enemy before they bring you down in a hail of plasma and grenades. The AI is VERY sweet, but the first three difficulty settings aren't much of a challenge for experienced players.
So, yes, Halo is good, and really the only reason right now to buy an xbox. I haven't played many of the other games, but they all look shoddy next to this. I think the Xbox has great potential and if they can keep up the trend, we should have some more classics to look forward to.
