I won't go on about how great this game is. The fact that there are almost 200 reviews for it and less than 20 with less than 3 stars is a testament to its greatness. I wish to speak about something that I haven't read any reviews about, but which shines just the same, if not more so, as the other features of this game, the music.

The music, simply stated, is awe-inspiring. Bungie did an awsome job creating ambiance with the musical score here. Just the right amount, at just the right time makes the feel of the game just unbelievable. Even the opening music is awsome.

I can't wait for internet play!!!
BUY THIS GAME!!

this is byfar the most amazing action game i have ever played!! back in 1997 when i got my N64 i also got goldeneye 007 and i thought there was nothing better than that but Halo blows it out of the water!!! i dont even like war/action games im more of a racing game kind-of-person. i only have one minor complaint that is not even worth taking a star off for: the warhogs (assult vehicles) are soo hard to drive!!

Nice!

I got this game for Christmas yesterday, and I gotta tell ya, this game KICKS ...!!! Th graphics are SO awesome! They look crystal clear with the Xbox's amazing graphics capabilities. The controls are quite simple. I thought, before I played the game, that using the right joystick to turn and the left one to move would be quite awkward. But, really, they're not! They're simpler than a Playstation would do with just a D-pad or single joystick. The sounds are great. You can hear the aliens talking to one another and your marines talking to one another. The sounds of the guns, vehicles, etc. are real good, too. The AI is fabulous! Your Marines and the Covenant both, are real smart. They actually do things and do them right! There are a lot ofheckpoints throughout the game and that is real good, because you may have to quit all of a sudden and a checkpoint is right ahead, or you just passed it, so all you have to do is save te game. And to wrap up my review, this game is so fun! It will keep you occupied for a long time. All of the vehicles, weapons, characters makes the game very exciting.

I picked up an xbox for the kids and threw in Halo for a change for my husband and myself. Needless to say we stayed up until 3am on Sat playing. The graphics are very cool and you really feel like you are in the game. The intellegence of the aliens, the different crafts to control and the sound is amazing. I don't want it to end but need some sleep! My only gripe it the saving mechinism on the coop play. You have to start the level over again after spending hours. Otherwise an outstanding game

This is the best game I have ever played in myentire life and I am a huge game fan. Though I am not a big fan of first person shooters I am a huge fan of this one. I love this game. I really like that you can play 4 players in the story mode I just think that is so cool. If I was anyone I would buy this game it is very fun and entertaining.

When I first got my X-Box on launch, this was my first game that I bought. The second I started to play this game, I fell in love with it. This is the best game ever made for any console. This is a must have game for anyone who has or is going to buy an
X-Box. This has to be your first game. The choice of weapons that you have is outstanding. There are a bunch of cool guns in this game. Also, there are some sweet vehicles that you can have. Especially when your the gunner in the back of the jeep. You have an automatic machine gun with unlimited ammo so you can open fire on anything you want. You have to buy this game if you buy X-Box. This is the best game ever made.

Halo: The BEST Xbox Game Ever

I'm 14 years old and bought Halo last year. This is most definitely the best Xbox game I have ever played (or any console for that matter). The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is very good. The multiplayer absolutely awesome. The plot is that in the ship you're riding on, The Pillar of Autumn, crashes into an alien artificial ring-world called Halo. It only has 10 levels, but they are nice and long, have excellent replay value, and are extremely enjoyable.
Unlike in Medal of Honor or Half-Life, you only carry two weapons which serves both to make it more realistic and make you think tactically.I'm a military kid and I can't remember the last time I saw a soldier running around carrying multiple assault rifles, pistols, recoilless weapons (bazookas), shotguns and grenades. And if you don't like a weapon, you kill someone with the one you fancy and trade for one that you have.
The enemies will hide behind rocks and sometimes the grunts act like prohpets of doom yelling things like "We're all gonna die!," "He's unstoppable!," or funny things like"Bad cyborg, bad cyborg!," "No sleepin' on the job!" and "Whooh, I'm outta here!" This adds an element of comedy and loosens up times of tension when you're about to die.
You can drive a tank with a coaxial machine gun (Scorpion), a military All Terrain Vehicle with a passenger seat and a 3-barreled chain gun on the back (Warthog), not to mention a flying alien vehicle with twin plasma cannons and a fuel rod gun (Banshee). If you want speed, you can opt for the Ghost, a hovering alien craft with dual plasma cannons. All are available on the both mulitplayer and single player modes except for the banshee, which is only available in single player.
Somewhere, somebody got the idea that this was only for people 16+ years old. My little brother was 9 when we got it and both of us quickly mastered the controls and weapons and stuff. We both love it.
On the downside, some of the level locations get a little repetitive, and on Legendary difficulty level, it is extremely difficult.
The single player is fun, but the co-op mode is awesome, especially if one of you run into battle with assault rifle blazing, while the other player stays back and snipes. This is all well and good, but the multiplayer is the reason to get the game. If you want a really good time, go to Longest multiplayer level with only shotguns and no shields, or do Blood Gulch with all the vehicles. My favorite level is Assault on the Control Room. It starts with an underground aerial insertion (no really) into a Covenant (alien) facility and work your way outside into a stunningly realistic, snowy environment where you find some United Nations Space Command (UNSC)Operational Directorate Shock Troopers (ODST)(Marines) engaged with some Covenant forces. You can continue to find a tank and warthogs, or "borrow" banshees and ghosts to kill Covenant with ease. You make your way to a Covenant Shrine where you find Halo's Control Room
If you have an Xbox, you have no excuse for not getting Halo and if for some reason you don't you will wish you had.
