Don't buy this version! Get another one!

There are way too many bugs that plague the Xbox version of the game. I went through three copies of the game, trying to see if they were merely defective disks. They were not.

The first major problem occurs in Vice City: The people don't talk after about twelve minutes. This is extremely annoying, as this is an integral part of the gameplay. It isn't just there for comical kicks, its there for when cops chase you, or when you need to know how far away someone is. You are missing out, here.

The game has an awful framerate. Contrary to popular belief, it did not "improve". Anyone that does say it is "better" is either lying or being lied to. Like I said, I went through three copies of the game before I got my cash back. GTA3's framerate is abyssmal, Vice City's is slightly better. Both games freeze often, and the custom sound tracks tend to skip generously.

The games themselves play well, the controls aren't bad, if not a bit too twitchy on the first person view mode, but over all not bad. The games are nearly identical to the PS2 and PC games, which is also a good thing. Unfortunately, the PS2 and PC versions both play better than the Xbox versions, and cost signficantly less.

A side note: I'm not a fanboy for playstation. God forbid, I fear the day that I ever become a fanboy for anything other than The Matrix. I myself enjoy many Xbox games, like KOTOR and HALO. However, I can't recomend this port, even if Rockstar were to pay me a thousand dollars.

Now Then, To Start Off I Have To Say That The Ps2 Had This Game First, Now That I Have The Downsides Out Of The Way.... This Game ROCKS!!!! Don't Listen To The People That Said That It Is Stupid Just Because Ps2 Had It First, True They Did, But Rockstar Is Going TO Make Up For It, By Adding Better Graphics, Customizable Soundtrack, Shortening The Download Times(There Is A God!!!), Adding Customizable Controls, And Increasing The Frame Rate. Now, The Only Problem Is Is That It Isn't Here Yet. I Have Both This And True Crime: Streets Of L.A. Pre-Ordered And I SRONGLY Suggest You Do The Same!!!! The Only Other Thing I Can Think Of To Say Is, It Will Be Worth The Wait!!!! Any Way Stop Reading And Go Buy It!!!!!

Blows Away True Crime

I bought true crime first and was bored with in after a few hours. GTA Vice on the other hand has better graphics, killer lighting affects, realistic rain, more vechicles, better plot and story plan. You can buy buildings and own your own porn movie house. Trust me get this game and forget about the over hyped and lame True Crimes. This is the best game on XBox by far. I've put down Rainbow 6 and ESPN Football to play Vice City. Awesome!!!!!!1

One fun game that will keep you busy for weeks

This game seriously is the cream of the crop. GTA3/4 in one pack.....for $50. How much better can it get? This game is extremely fun and will provide much entertainment. Many of you may think this game is too violent but go to any arcade and they have shooting cop games where you shoot up aliens. This is no different, its a video game so get over it. There are some flaws however:

1. Sometimes a cop runs into you and then immediatly arrest you even though you were just sitting in your car.
2. The physics are better than GTA3 in vice city but they still need some work. You can still knock down poles even though you really didn't hit them, you were just close.

Despite these minor flaws the game still rocks and will have you laughing your head off. Going for as long as you can evading the cops with 6 stars is quite fun. Have contests with your friends and see who can shoot up the most cops and cause the most damage.

This game kept me up for weeks! I love the missions,the graphics are superb, and the sound track is sweet! You can do whatever suits you. What I like to do {call me crazy},is get all the properties, wait till it's nightime, go to Rafael's andpick up the party suit run to your Hyman condo and pick up your helicopter, go to the Malibu, or Pole Position and land outside the front door, enjoy the nightlife, {and the chicks}, go back to your helicopter while it's still dark, return to your condo building, and watch the stars and sunrise on the roof. Then, do whatever you feel like doing in the city the following day, jacking cars, causing havoc,doing exciting missions for scumball clients{that was an insult} or just cruising the streets! Just like a real mobster. See what i'm talking about, the freedom gamers have always been looking for in an Xbox game! Live another life! And best of all.... IN MIAMI!

Clearing Up Some Misconceptions

Just to clear this matter up for all the little Sony crybabies out there, Sony and the producers did not "give away" the GTA series to Micosoft's XBOX. Rockstar simply found a loophole that enabled them to release their PS2 exclusive games onto other systems after a period of one year. Why would they want to give away this absolutely wonderful game to another gaming platform? Simple, you see, becuase it's all about the money. Just think about all the money that would be made if GTA were released on the platform of which many people keep complaining about it not being on their system. Wouldn't you feel inclined also? Anyway, this game is even better than it was on PS2, and no, I won't moan and complain about how much better which system is. All I'll say is that these games are probably the greatest games ever released; great script, great gameplay, great open-endedness. What's not to like. I'd like to close by saying that everyone should be concentrating on the quality of the product, not whether you like the gaming system or not.

This game is great, it is violent and bad but you know you gotta have fun every once in awhile why not with video games, i dont even play the missions in this game i just go around and go crazy. GREAT GAME.

This gets 10 stars because its made of two awsome games

Finally, Rock* has brought Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto:Vice City to my favorite system, the Xbox. Now my two favorite games on the PS2 is with better graphics on the Xbox. The are all time classics. In future you will be sitting with your oldest friend saying hey do you remember those two really popular games made by Rock Star? That is the future for these games that will be known throuout history. Buy this when you can.

Let me start off by saying i don't own the actual double pack thingi i'm reviewing, i have both gta3 and vice city separately on PS2. i was getting really jealous reading what the xbox version had that the PS2 one doesnt. For example the feature that lets you save your own music on the xbox and hear the songs on the radio stations (i can think of many slayer or slipknot songs that would be perfect to listen to while mowing down pedestrians or on the run from the cops!) not that the radio stations suck either, Vrock pumps out loads of 80s metal like maiden, ozzy, slayer, megadeth and motley crue which i think is a huge improvement over the hip hop and regge stations on gta3.
i've had these 2 games for years and they are the only games that i havn't got bored of yet.
As you may know, vice city has a lot more to offer than gta3 and i recommend playing gta3 1st so you can be blown away by the sequel.
i don't know how you could knock these games they have EVERYTHING! shooting,action, comedy, drag racing, fist fights, helicopters, gang wars, buisnesses you can buy, huge cities that'll take you months to fully explore,explosions, high speed chases, FBI swat team etc, chicks, and an aresenal of weapons that'll keep you entertained for hours on end.
Even when you finish the missions there is still heaps to do, especially on vice city.
I'd also like to mention the massive amounts of humor put into the game i.e on the radio stations and throughout the town. Some of the talk shows and adds on the radio are worth listening to without even playing the game.
I really hope thgey make another GTA because im sure it will be jam packed with stuff to do like these two are.
This double pack deserves far more than 5 stars especially when you consider how many months or even years work went into making the games.
The majority of people who criticize this game havn't even palyed it or just hate it because of the amount of violence in it and stupid things like that. Just play it a few times before you judge it.
Overall these games are definately worth the money and should be among every gamer's collection.
Now go buy them! You won't be disappointed.

Grand Theft Auto is fun for all of about three days. If you're looking for a good crime game, then DO NOT buy this game. Grand Theft Auto offers nothing but good old fashioned violence but loses all its charm once you realize there's nothing else to the game. Don't get me wrong, it's worth playing at least once, but not worth buying in the long run Save yourself some money, rent the game and buy a good crime game like the Getaway or something. If you're looking for a game that offers nothing but rather mindless bloodshed then this game is perfect for you.
