I am very pleased that I rented this game instead of buying it. I'm not too big of a Matrix fan. I thought the first movie was great and I thought the sequel to be kind of a flop. The game Enter The Matrix, in my opinion, follows the second movie down the same dissatisfying path. To be fair, the graphics are great and the kung-fu\gravity bending gameplay is unprecedented and fun to watch. The action moves you can perform play like some of the fight sequences in the films. Unfortunately, the action combos and the wall walking gets old really fast. After about an hour of doing the same martial arts combos and jumping over bullets I began to grow bored with the gameplay. I found myself doing the same thing over and over: Follow the trails, shoot the same guards, do the same moves. There is no variety in this game. You fight and easily kill dozens upon dozens of generic swat cops and security guards. You easily get an auto-lock on your target, jump through the air and shoot them.... OVER AND OVER AND OVER, LEVEL TO LEVEL TO LEVEL. Gameplay is much too linear, and the lack of any sort of rush coupled with the same recycled orchestral music playing in an endless loop left me wanting more. The game didn't convey any real 'get up and go.' Just the same bad guys for you to kill in different rooms. In summary:

Pros: Great graphics, great gun and explosion sounds, exceptional gameplay as far as manipulating the environment(wall walking, bullet dodging etc..), Agents are intimidating and fun to fight, clever interposing between gaming and movie clips gives you a better understanding of The Matrix.

Cons: Poor lighting and shadows, TOTAL lack of variety from level to level, recycled enemies and recycled musical score resulting in monotonous levels of easy shoot-em-up gaming, Unchallenging combat interface: Enemies are weak and predicatble, lacking any sort of surprise tactics or skills equal to your own.

If you're a fan of The Matrix and are just dying to get any sort of Matrix fix before the next film, then you will probably make this game work for you. If you're a first person shooter fan looking for anything to bridge the gap from now until Halo 2, maybe this title will keep you interested for a night or two. - It's no miracle in action gameplay. Allow the river of hype this game has generated to float to the wayside with the rest of the garbage. Worth the rent, not the buy.

Yes, this review is just like the title suggests. Its stuffed full of Pros and Cons. Well enough chit-chat, lets get down to buisness;

Pros:
~Great Graphics!!!
~AWESOME focus (aka 'Bullet Time) moves
~Health recharges (thank god!)
~Good controls exept for shooting buttton (black button) which i think should be switched with the strafing button ( right trigger)
~The enviorments look real. They arnt the most colorful places around, but you have to remember that this isnt candy land folks

Cons:
~the camera can be awkward
~the tiny little ity-bitty tinsy-weensy black button shoots, but i already comlained about that...
~I havnt gotten to the stealth parts yet but people tell me that the enemies can see or hear you to well

And to conclude this wonderful absolutly fabulously written review, if i do say so myself, i would like to qoute my hero Porky Pig in saying "That's all folks!"

THE BEST OF THE BEST SIR! WITH HONORS!

I'm not a video game afficionado and I'm not going to pretend to write an afficionado review. For that, you can go to the real guys who get paid to do this stuff.

At first, I despised this game. It seemed very uneven. Way too easy in some parts and stupidly difficult in others. For instance, stand in one room and nothing happens, step into another and twenty SWAT guys are shooting at you all at once.

The driving sequences are truly horrible.

However, there are things to enjoy about the game as well, such as the Focus feature that allows you to move in "bullet time". I loved jumping from roof-top to roof-top and I enjoyed the Chateau portion of the game.

I think another reviewer summed it up nicely: this is not a finished product. It looks and feels as if Atari and Shiny pushed the product out before it was really ready, in order to coincide with the movie release...which is a real shame because this game could have been completely awesome.

Now that I'm about halfway into it, it's not so bad. I was actually enjoying it last night when the music started skipping when I beat Cujo and tried to go to the next level. Then the whole thing froze up. Tried it three more times, and the same thing happened. Yet another bug, perhaps? So if I really want to finish it, I guess I'll have to go for an exchange. I wonder if many others have suffered through the same sorts of trouble?

If you are a huge fan, you'll enjoy this game and the movie footage alone is worth the cost. Otherwise, I'd just rent it.

Loved the Movie- Disapointed by the game !

With all the hype around this game and the way they sold it as a
revolution in gaming and interactive media - the Matrix DID NOT DELIVER!.

There is nothing new or innovative.

Game-Play:

Similar to max Payne, with the bullet time feature however you don't really need much skill to play this ý no chalange at all - the coolness of the martial arts moves ware off fast and the Driving Levels were absolutely boring !

Graphics:
-The Graphics are average and in some cases bad "The Car models were really bad" the cut-scenes however are the best Iýve ever seen

Music - Excellent sound track and voice over acting

Story - How can you go wrong it is the Matrix !

I don't think this game is worth [the money]- maybe a rental to
satisfy your curiosity- nothing more !

I bought this game because a friend of mine said it was good. I had recently saw The Matrix Reloaded and thought it was cool. I didn't really follow it though. Plus, i didn't remember the original Matrix. I got it and started playing it. I was blown amay. Amazing graphics, great gameplay and fun! I recommend this game for someone who loves the whole Matrix storyline, or someone like me who thinks it is O.K.

Good old Atari

Hello Xbox people. I will start by saying I bought an Xbox just to play this game. It is of the hook. If you are a Matrix fan you probably already have this game. If not buy it along with the players guide and you most likely will become a Matrix fan. This game is a movie that you play. It is very well done. The only complaint that I have is that it is very much a linear game. It only can happen one way. Well try it, buy it whatever you wont be dissappointed. Also if you dont already have it get Halo its still the best.

This needs 6 stars

This game is one of the best. With branching paths, this game is a must buy. A cool feature is hacking. It is almoast as big as the game itself.
