There is little doubt that this is going to be one of the top games of 2003. The December 2002 Game Informer Magazine gave this a full-length feature, and it left little doubt that this is going to be a powerhouse game. Enter the Matrix is being developed with a close collaborative effort between gaming industry and Hollywood so that they can create a game experience "as rewarding as the movie."
There will be ultra-realistic character movements with the over 4,000 motion captures performed and encoded into the game. We are promised over 200 minutes of in-game cinematics and voices from the actors of the film including Keanu Reeves (bless his heart). You can play as Niobe or Ghost, and you play along side characters from the first movie (Neo and Morpeus). Screen shots look promising with plenty of special effects. Unless the something goes terrible wrong between now and the release of this game, we can expect ONE AWESOME GAME!
BEST NEW GAME OF 2003!

Enter The Matrix is one of the best games i have ever seen. After reading all the previews and seeing all the screen shots I decided to preorder it and you should to as i am still waiting for it to come out and it looks better and better!. Max Payne fans should start salivating here, as the focus system is very much like bullet time, except that there is alot more you can do. If u loved the movie then you will love this. Now the hacking system, this is incredible u can hack into your xbox and make guns, items etc appear anywhere on da map!! and download fight styles into yourself, now thats kool. I would like to give this game more stars but cant, it is a MUST BUY! for all the matrix fans or anyone looking for a really good game (ON XBOX OF COURSE!).
This Is Truly Pure Gold!

ETM(enter the matrix) is a game that is incomplete without the movie.ETM revolves around The Matrix Reloaded and goes into its own story itself, but without experiencing BOTH you miss the WHOLE experience. Let me explain,by playing the game and watching the movie you actualy learn more about the matrix and about why and how certain events take place. Also, in the game the actions you make actualy have an effect on how the movie goes (I know it may sound confusing).
In the game you play as either Naiomi or Ghost (not Neo). The gameplay varies from fighting to driving and from many of the screen shots I have seen it all looks good! You can basicaly do what you see in the movie, from avoiding bullets in slo-mo, to wall walking! There is also a unqie feature that actualy allows you to hack into your game system for fighting skills and weapons. ...
The game comes out May15 wich is the same as the movie. Preordering this game is a must! Belive me when I say it will go fast! If you enjoy the movie then this is a must buy. Get your wallet ready May15! ...BR>

This game aint out yet, i aint played it yet and i have only seen small clips from it but everything in my body tells me that this is going to be a wicked game.
I have no real idea of the content besides what has already been said here and the Offical Xbox Mag but it looks good.
There are only 3 games im lookin forward to buying outright (no rental) this year and they are Fable, Halo 2 and this one. I have no doubt that this will be a first class game which MAY even revial the forever glowing Halo.
I will write a review for this game when i play it. For now this is just a ramble to say i think it is worth the risk to just purchase this game outright without a rental. I hope we all won't be let down for doing so.... I Doubt We Will :)
Enter The Matrix's ASAP!

Im giving it 4 stars only because it looks dang cool BUt I am sorry I really don't know how these people are reviewing a game and saying how great it is when it doesnt even exist yet?
You can say the screen shots are great, or it looks read good, but "best game of 2003" etc?
I just don't get it.
I am 1 of lucky few that have already played this game

I was fortunate enough to get to play through the game recently, here's what i thought of it
Graphics:
Character Models are are really good, but the environments don't look nearly as good. There's little to no atmospheric effects (fog, rain, etc). All in all the game looks bland. Special effects, like bullet time, are well done. Motion captured moves have choppy transtitions. (for example, the end of a punching animation does not smoothly flow into the animation for kicking, leaving the game looking jerky) . I saw a special on mtv about the game. It was pretty clear that ETM uses a modified version of the Messiah engine. The programmer was demonstarting the same tessellating polygon technique used in Messiah. It's interesting to see how powerful some aspects of the game's graphics engine can be, and yet the game still looks so bland.
Sound:
No problems here, uses mostly the ochestral score from the first movie.
Gameplay:
Kung Fu battles can easily be won by mashing buttons, except against agents. Go into focus mode and then mash buttons to hit an agent.
Gunplay is awkward, at least on Xbox. Using the black button to fire your gun is not very intuitive. Sniping is very frustrating, you push the right analog stick to enter first person mode, then you must push fire to bring up the reticle if you did not already have your gun drawn.
Running up the walls, backflips, etc. are all easy to execute and can be useful in doding enemy fire. Strafing is a pain in the neck, i don't understand why shiny chose not to let you strafe with the right analog stick.
Overall the 3rd person missions are usually short in length, The combat is unvaried. Many sub-levels are very similar. Once you've seen a couple, you've seen them all (with a few exceptions)
The driving in the game is mediocre at best. There are about 4-6 driving levels. The environments are empty, very few cars, even on the highway levels. The enemy AI is downright stupid. The physics are horrible.
The flying levels are downright unplayable, i didn't play as ghost, so i can't comment on the gunning levels.
The cinema scenes range from great to poor, but some are definitly worth seeing.
Hacking the Matrix:
a fun aside, one of the best parts of the game. I think i've completed everything possible in it, in which case it doesn't add more than an hour or 2 to game length.
Playing through as both characters:
More of a chore than anything else. Alot of repeat levels, through there is some new content. It's like how you used to have to play through Tony Hawk games with multiple characters to unlock things: you've seen most of it the first time through.
RENT it, it's not very long about 8 hrs, and it certainly does not have much replay value. It seems like they got way too caught up with all the technology they had available and didn't take the time to fix the gameplay problems.
Enter A Pretty Cool Game

What can I say about "Enter the Matrix", well first off if you loved the movie which everyone did, this game will not dissaponit you. The game is fun, the graphics aren't super awesome but they are pretty good. The fighting is way fun and smooth (it looks really awesome) and the gun fights kick... You have what called Focus time, it just like bullettime from Max Payne, but you can do a lot more with focus time than with bullet time, like dodge bullets and run up walls for example. When you play you can pick from two different charactors, and the game is different for each one. You can do everything from the Martix and more. Fight agents, run from agents, and kick cops... It like your playing a whole new matrix movie and I think it is worth a buy. GO SEE THE MATRIX RELODED!!!!
Great Game

I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of this game for PC and it rocks. The graphics are amazing and the levels are pretty cool as well. The movie driven storyline is excellent as well as it seemlessly blends in with the gameplay. If you are a fan of the films, then get it. If you are a fan of great action games, get it.
