To anyone that does not own this game, heed the advice of this adult who borrowed the game from a friend - it really is garbage.
I feel morally obligated to speak up when I noticed the number of rave reviews here. If something you own has disappointed you - please speak out with reviews. It keeps things balanced.
BF was inconsistent, not terribly "new" (same ideas rehashed) the character switching in real time has its fun but it also has major flaws. Oh, and it wasn't fun.
Bottom line, this thing was hyped, hyped, hyped. And now, nine months after its release it still stinks. Don't buy this game - spend your money on GTA if you are an adult. Way more fun.

Story mode gets repetetive

I'm sure there is loads more fun to have on the multiplayer but I haven't got system lynk or Xbox live, there's a split screen mode. There's a nice feature in CO UP when someone is on it and someone can just jump in and not have to start the level again.

This just has shooting in it with team play. There are 4 characters Tex - heavy weaponist, Lizarduses powerful weapons and charge attack, Hawk - deadly sniper and another girl who uses stealth and don't exspect Splinter Cell goodness.

You basicaly run through a level and shoot everyone, no originality except useful items teleport in huts. It's cool when frowing frag or sonic grenades with good effects.

Give this one a go if you've got Xbox Live or system lynk for multiplayer because single player is average.

A lot of people who may play Brute Force will be immediately put off by its lack of similarity to Halo. True, they're not the same kind of game, but both are impressive when not compared. First of all, Brute Force is harder. A single player, uncovered by their squad, will get worked by a group of entrenched enemies. Their weaponry and AI are no joke, and this game is team based for a reason.
I think the great strength of Brute Force is its cooperative multiplayer campaign mode. I don't believe its multiplayer battle modes (squad death match and death match) are as good as Halo's, but its co-op mode is, in my opinion, more fun because of the diverse characters you can play.
Bottom line: give the game a shot. You may not like the first few characters you get (you only start with one, who is arguably the lamest of the bunch), but by the time you get Hawk (scout) and Flint (sniper), you'll be stoked. Those two kick all kinds of hell out of people. There is plenty of challenge, even for the seasoned gamer. The last few stages are so hard...yuck. I went through 34 respawnings on the last stage when my friend and I were playing it. Painful stuff.

Anyone who says this is good... gimme a break.

This game blows. It is boring, laborious, badly-designed and stupid as a tree stump. I wish I could have given it no stars.

Forget the other reviews, they are hype from people that haven't even played this game. Right now I'm half way through with it and I've played all the characters.
Graphics - the payers and enemies look somewhat animated, could have been better but the rest of the game is absolutely stunning.
Pros: Great game play. Commanding all the players at once could have been smoother. Good weapons. Interesting story and plot unfolding.
Negatives: Scripted and not free roaming. You really don't get a good look at the enemies, they come out fast and you have to dispose of them quickly.
I've only played deathmatch a few times but it looked fun.
Overall: It's a good game that will keep you busy for awhile, especially if you want to control every player through an entire mission. Halo killer no. The guy who works at my local video game store, who is a hard core gamer hates this game? Play it and decide for yourself

This game [stinks]. I looked forward to it so much. Pre-ordered it and everything. This game is lame. It would have been a great game 5 years or so ago. The storyline [stinks]. Nothing new during the game. It is so easy. Just go slow and sniper everything. When you try to play multiplayer the 3rd person view is always in the way. The controls are just Halo controls, so it is easy to learn if you have Halo. This game should have been 1st person period. Rent it dont buy it and you will understand. Multiplayer is bad, so dont buy it. Rent it and you can beat it before you have to bring it back.

Nice Multiplayer co-op, game falls a little short.

I am always looking for MULTIPLAYER co-op games and so was extremely excited to find this one and it had good reviews. My first reaction to the game was, mixed. The graphics could have been better and the camera angle takes some getting use to, its set just behind the character. But the co-op multiplayer, with up to 4 players was real cool!

There are 4 characters each with a different ability and weaponry to match. You can only pick up guns that fit your characters style. You can swap between them all in battle and give the rest commands to follow. Like I said this is great.

The weapons are boring and are #'s not namesso its hard to tell what they are. I still barely know. The best thing about the game is the squad based fighting and the multiplayer. If it was not for that I would have been seriously disappointed. The missions become repetitive and for some reason you keep going back to this cycle of worlds over and over.

Overall I give it 3 stars because the game is great for multiplayer squad based combat but it falls short in graphics, weapons and enemies and story.

Its pretty cheap to buy used, I would recommend picking it up for around $10.

This game is awsome! i just got it yesterday and have been playing for 7 hours and havent beaten it. thats a good sign being that halo took me way over 7 hours. so heres the deal:

THE GOOD: (1) you have awsome co-op.(2) that its long enough to do more than rent. (3) graphics are sweet! (4) [you can still play online with xbconnect.com]...shhh
(5) you have enough items and weapons to have a few favorites and not get bored with em. (6) you can command your allies sorta like ghost recon...without all the technical stuff

THE BAD: (1)NO XBOX LIVE 8( (2)Dont know about you, but I like first person shooters better than third person shooters...and this is a third person shooter. (3) no surprises like in halo with the flood.

Basically i gave it a 4 because it woulda been crazy with xbox live...o well still definitely worth buying!

This game is pretty fun and has good graphics. It isnt very good in 1 person mode. I was expecting the next HALO as Microsoft wanted you to. I think they kinda duped everyone with this one. It's like playing the same missions over and over again. I am no allstar gamer and I had no problem beating it with ease. I will be getting rid of it soon as there is really no need for me to keep it. These are probably the reasons this game is now 20 bucks instead of 50. I should have rented it first.
