I've played all of the racing titles on the GameCube, and while I've liked a couple I wouldn't necessarily reccomend any of them. However F-Zero GX is by far the best of the bunch. It's a blast to play, especially in multiplayer mode, the graphics are incredible, and you wont believe the speed.
This is a game that you can jump in and start having fun immediately, but there is also a lot of depth to the various modes if you are into that sort of thing.
This is a must buy for any GameCube library of games.
Can you say, whoa?!

I gotta tell ya, in all of the racing games I've played, this one's gotta be the hardest of them all. I've never had to fight for my life so much just to win a single race. However, it's all definitely worth it, because this game rocks us all.
The graphics are gorgeous, the control, the feel of the game, and the fact that it can interact with the arcade version is a nice touch. I warn you though, this game is fast, and it may take a while before you master it. This is no ordinary futuristic racing. Wipeout Fusion has nothing on this.
I didn't expect this coming

The long lasting f-zero cart classic, has yet been remade another time. Unlike any GBA or N64 remake, the GC version holds the top ranking, even over the origonal. The features are amazing; You can make your own vehicles, draw pictures on them, try story mode, or race f-zero circuits. Beside all the lame ass characters, f-zero is the complete package.

I have to admit I haven't played F zero sice the SNES days (old geezer I know) but I was surprised at how much fun the game was. The game has been updated with sharper graphics and better sound. You have several differnt options when it comes to the different races. The only one real thing that stopped me from giving this a perfect 5 (4 and a half for me) is that its friggin difficult but this is still a fun game to play. I think the AI is unfair in some parts and thats what sometimes puts me off playing. Maybe I'll give it another lash at the weekend perhaps.

I have a husband and 2 teenage sons who love to race. One thing I notice about a lot of the racing games is the fact that they seem to go through and master them quickly. Not this game. There's more than enough options with this game to give it variety and there's plenty of challenge within each track. They like doing the different championship cups, but also enjoy the story portion. I give it 5 stars because they have so much fun playing it that the following two things seem minor in comparison.
1.) There is a warning on games like this that they can cause dizziness and/or nausea. Unfortunately for me this one causes both and very quickly so I don't play the game myself and don't watch them a whole lot when they do... and the play it a lot!
2.) You can only save one game on one memory card. In other words, if you have 3 different people racing on the circuits it's saving their champtionship "money" under one "person". But their learning to work cooperatively to buy the next levels and parts in the garage.
As I said I don't think those two things should weigh against you getting the game (although the first one might be a factor if you have someone who wants to play the game and you know their susceptible to that type of effect). They're all having a great time playing it and working their way through each level. A even from the bit I've seen it's a great game with some spectacular graphics. A definite must buy for your racing fans.
An EXCEPTIONAL game...but also exceptionally difficult

F Zero X for N64 was a great game so after seeing the reviews and videos of F Zero GX I couldn't wait to get it. Being one of the primary reasons I purchased a Gamecube, I hoped it would live up to my expectations. It did, and in many ways surpassed them. The graphics are outstanding. The sense of speed is simply mind-boggling, you probably wouldn't find a faster game. The majority of track designs are absolutely great. The story mode is deep, plus there is a Grand Prix mode, and it's also four player. You also race against up to 29 opponents, and of course the gameplay is absolutely great. One problem however, is its difficulty. For Pros, this may be seen as a nice challenge. But for novices, the game can be frustratingly hard. This may turn away some. If you think you are up for the challenge, this game is a MUST BUY. Good futuristic racers are rare...this should rekindle you interest in the dying genre.
From zero to sixty...million.

F-Zero GX is truly knuckles-scraping-against-asphalt hard, but not impossible. It¡¯s completely rewarding when you finally overcome the odds. Yet at the same time, it¡¯s a daunting game and is best to take on gradually in small doses. I¡¯ve noticed that if I keep at any one stage for too long, I just won¡¯t get it. But if I try again the next day, it suddenly comes to me.
With its sweet graphics, high speeds and imaginative tracks, F-Zero GX races to the lead of the Gamecube pack. Then again, there isn¡¯t much competition. But whether compared to games like Extreme G3 or just rated on its own merits, F-Zero GX is a delightfully difficult game that will more than satisfy your hunger for a challenge.

I used to play the 64 version of this game and like it alot, but I have to say this version rocks way above the rest.
The graphics are intense as well as the game play.
I have played this non stop since my boyfriend got it for me for Valentine's Day. If you love addictions to speed, you will love F-Zero GX.

i expected big things from this game.i preordered it.i went into town and got it at God knows what time in the morning of the release date.ive only ever done that once before, for super mario sunshine.this is a brilliant racing game.the speed is amazing and never slows, even when in 4-player.the backgrounds are huge and often parts are moving.the music(and this is where the game really surprised me)is brilliant.its always suited to the track e.g. in firefield, a firey volcano, some brillant industrial metal blazes out.but theres even more.if like me, you are no stranger to f-zero, you may feel dissapointed that some of the classics havent made it................or have they?the most popular tunes from big blue and mute city have retuned hidden in the game.you can purchase then with your hard earned tokens(they cost 99 each which is a hell-of alot when you consider most of the ships cost a mere 30 tokens).and thers even more music! each character has there own theme which really suit them(my favourite being james mclouds).there are 2 new modes in the game; the story mode, which has been done very well and the coustomise option.this consites of 3 sub modes: garage(you can create your own ships and race them), emblem editor(make yur own emblems and put them on your coustom ship or a premade ship)and f-zero shop(buy premade ships, buy parts you have unlocked through grand prix mode and story mode and buy items such as the remixed big blue and mute city themes along with new story mode missions and staff ghosts wich are unlocked by doing an extremely fast lap in time trial mode) Matt Clough

F-Zero GX is absolutely one of the best games I've ever played. The action's fast, the graphics are amazing, and I really like the garage feature. Buy a copy right away! The only thing I wish for is an online mode to let you show off your machine to everyone velse.
