Great game if you can handle the challenge

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 0

The newest release of F-Zero is, by far, the best. With its entry on the GameCube, the game finally gets the dynamic look and feel it always seemed to be striving for. The tirelessly detailed environments of this game are breathtaking, but do not distract from its fast pace. The controls allow for many complicated racing strategies, but are still quite easy to learn. The only downside to this game is its difficulty level, which may prove to be too frustrating for a lot of impatient players. However, the game will provide many hours of racing fun for those willing to face its challenge.

Smooooooth ride. It gives you an outstanding thrill. If you have played F-Zero, anything!, you will love this. If high tech racing is your game, F-Zero GX should be on your top list of hits. I could not think of a better racing game out on any new platform better then this...chaio and cheers to makers!

I don't know how to describe this. It's just plain FAST! The race just starts, then, SMACK! ZOOOOOOOOOM! Story isn't difficult at all. Well, maybe a little. OK! OK! I didn't even beat it yet! You happy, F-Zero haters? I can't even get Pheonix. Oh well. Customization is great! But, I don't wanna give EVERYTHING away. Just get it and see for yourself.

This game is very fun to play because it's so difficult.. I was very lucky to be able to unlock everything for this game. There's things you can unlock like race tracks, I think around 10 secret chracters I'm almost positive there's more than 10, secret 30 seconds video for each chracter than you beat the hardest level with, and machine parts that you can make your own machine with. The graphics are awesome plus the game is very very fast. Took me a few months to complete which an average game takes a couple of weeks.

Not mind blowing, but well worth the price

This game is pure fun, lacking any substance or depth whatsoever.

But that's ok--that's all it's meant to be! And the designers succeeded. This game is a good way to veg out after a long weekday or a good way to spend a Saturday morning. There are no puzzles to solve and although there are some tricky tracks, there are no frustratingly difficult battles.

The graphics are very good, and do a great job of immersing you in the environments. Gameplay is good.

Overall, 4.5 out of 5

A Game for All Gamers

Let me begin this review with the following statement: this game is fantastic. I do this, because everything I will say from now on will revolve around this proclamation. Yes, we all love games that feature flashy graphics, great sound, a kick butt rock score, that jolt us and show us a new perspective of the world. But, even with all these qualities a game can lose its way and disappear in the fog of hundreds of releases that we find every year. For me, I think the perfect example of this is LOTR or Enter the Matrix. While both are definitely cool, they are cool first, game second. F-Zero is the opposite: a game first, cool second. This is the essential component that most video games completely miss these days, and for those who were there to experience it, was a factor that was core during the late 80's and early 90's. Something got lost in the 3-D phase that was there in the 2-D phase, and I don't think this is just me being nostalgic. This game is a revival of the former gaming philosophy. A game should cause you to become addicted, test your reflexes, push you to even be CREATIVE in your thinking. That is what this game does. However, because it also has everything else AS WELL, the gaming experience only gets heightened. Yes, some might be discouraged. But, I think Segtendo kept this in consideration when adding multiple difficulty levels. An easy setting, is MEANT for the casual gamer. This is why I don't understand the complaints about the game's difficulty. A light gamer CAN have fun with this game. However, for those willing, this is a game that simply separates the men from the boys. For those who want flaws, it should have also been an online game.

Made for Widescreen TVs

Im not going to go into all the details of the game since you can just read the other reviews. Ill agree with them all and say the game is awesome. What I wanted to say, since no one else has mentioned it, is that this game has a 16:9 ratio mode for widescreen TVs. Maybe most Gamecube games do this but I only have 2 so I dont know. I was thrilled when I saw that F Zero can be played in widescreen mode. It doesnt make the game any easier but it makes an already hugely fun game a little more so. It may just be the novelty but I think its great that games are finely being designed with widescreen TVs in mind. There are many better reasons to buy this game but if you have a widescreen TV make sure you take advantage of it.

To start off my review I would like to say WOW! The graphics are incredible and the speed never once falters, the story made is great, and you can make your own vehicles. This is a must have for F-Zero fans. Just let me say, however, that the mode is EXTREMELY frustrating. You gain first place and you are on the final lap and you're ahead of everyone else, then some bozo blasts right by you and you lose, I mean come on. The game is great, fast and challenging but the intensity is way to high. Nintendo and Sega could have eased up a bit on the difficluty. However this is none the less a great racing game and I would highly reccomend it to any racing freak.

Sup. Anyway this is awsome! Who likes to break the sound barrier? In what other game can you do that? (lol) This is the best racing game ever. Most people don't like to race Nascar and other bad racing games. But this makes it! So many cars (you can even make ur own custom car!!) This is really the best racing game ever. I know i don't write reviews very well. lol. But this is a great game. A little hard sometimes, but still fun cause it has a challenge unlike others. There are 30 pilots 20 courses and 1 champ! Get this if your into racing... It'll blow you away! Well i gotta go play the game. lol. I hope you like my review. I gonna beat some tail!

F-zero is the best title of the franchise yet. If your into incredibly addictive racing this game is for you. So many factors contribute to making this one of the best racers around.
The graphics are very clean and smooth(delivers an amazing 60 frames per second), but it is the game play elements that truly shine. It stays true to it's predesesors by delivering an amazing sense of speed, sending you flying off cliffs and barreling up pipes at full speed. But this racer isn't for the ameture player. F-zero is hard, which I think is great, it keeps you playing and rewards with a great sense of accomplishment. In addition this game offers other great bonuses including a create your own craft option, in which you can also customize exhisting craft. Thier are many bonus tracks as well, which only the elite will unlock. Whether you are a true fan of F-zero or have never heard of it, this game will astound you. A must have for GameCube owners. 5 out of 5
