I have been waiting so long ever since I got The Sims Makin Magic Expansion pack and the bonus disc I wanted to see this in real life.
This new Sims isn't an expansion but who cares. The fact that the graphics look like your there it that just takes the down sides away.
You can now born and go threw life stages.First your born, a Youth, Preteen, Teenager, Adult, Elder, and then Death. At any point in the game you can stop the life cycle.

I can't wait for this game to be out. I'm counting down the days. From the screenshots this looks too cool. I will be the first one to get this game. The Sims rock!!

From what I have read and seen off of various websites, this game looks fantastic. I have a been a Sims fan for a couple of years now and I started to get bored with it. it is time to update this game. i cant wait until you can build on more than two levels. that should be awesome. plus I hated how you couldnt put anything on a diagonal walls and now you will be able too! This game is going to be awesome and I am going to buy it as soon as it comes out! I wish it would come out sooner!

This game is great! The graphics are so much better than the older version. If you're a Sims fan, you have to get this game.

I purchased this game because I was dissapointed in the Console's Sims 2 game and I wanted the better version for PC. As soon as I installed this game on my computer, I was hooked, it's sooo, addictive I played this game for about 6hours straight. I am a freshmen in college so I didn't want to waste all my time playing this game but it was hard, anyway, the graphics are great the new features such as the kids and jobs and all the new stuff you can decorate your house with, and with the stairs and more floors a sims house can be so much better than just one floor, any way i recommend this game for any Sims fan or a for anyone who wants to have fun on their computer.

I believe that the sime 2 is one of the most briliantly designed games of all time! The grapphics are incredible, the level of detail put into this game is astounding! The creators of this game really put alot of effort into this game...AND IT SHOWS! The gameplay is quite easy to master and unlike most other simulation games, the sims 2 does not get boring! You can play for hours and never encounter the same experiences. The options to customize your sims with are great! there are many hairstyles makeup and clothes options to make your sim UNIQUE! One of my favorite features of this game is the ability to cook different meals...that might sound weird...but its great to see the food which looks real as oppose to the mush in the older sims games. Some of the meals your sims are able to cook include: salmon, ribs, omlettes, cakes, lobster and spaghetti! The objects in the sims 2 are all finely crafted and look almost real! THIS GAME IS GREAT YOU SHOULD DEFINETLY PURCHASE IT!

If your looking for a good reason to waste precious time BUY THIS GAME! You will get sucked in by the awesome graphics and ability to control something in your life! Sims are more interactive and FUN FUN FUN!!!!!

Love Sims

I loved the original Sims and had most of the Expansion Packs. I bought Sims 2 from Amazon and to my surprise when it came I realized I had bought the DVD version. This caused a rush trip to Fry's to buy a DVD Rom for my computer. Darn!! :) I love it but to me it's a little more stressful because there is more at stake with your people. They have more desires, fears and dreams that you have to fulfill in order for them to die happy at the end of their life. But it makes it more challenging and I like that. Definately worth playing. And I got the University Expansion Pack for Christmas 2006 so I look forward to playing that soon.

Very Slow

I know that games are becoming more and more advanced, but this is a bit ridiculous. The game is EXTREMELY slow. It takes about 2 mintues to load the game, 5 minutes to load the neighborhood, and 15 minutes to load the family! Then once I actually get to play the game, it freezes up, I can't move the screen. I have turned off the background tasks, but it's so slow that I don't think I can play the game. I shouldn't have to go out and buy a brand new, top of the line computer just to play this game. It should have been made so that people with at least fairly new computers could play the game without any problems. I might be sending this one back!

Being a previous Sims 1 fan, I was extremely excited about the release of The Sims 2. Everything I imagined the new game to be is that and so much more! The game play is extremely entertaining and quite comical, which I love the most. There are so many fun interactions that it will keep you glued to your chair for hours on end! When I first purchased the game I played non-stop for a total of 32 hours! The new camera is awesome and it isn't hard to control at all! You just have to get the knack for it and once you do, you'll be spinning all over the lot. Another thing about the camera that I like so much is that you can set up the camera to follow your Sim. This is fun if you just want to sit there and watch what they do.

The movie making possibilities are endless. Great for telling stories if you feel so inclined. The different aspirations are just as great in that you have to achieve these often times, very challenging wants, all the while you are watching your fears panel.

Yes, you do need a good graphics card and possibly a good amount of RAM, however, I don't have the best system and can play with minimal problems. The problems I have have to do with my computer, not the game. I have an integrated graphics card, which doesn't doesn't show the graphics all that well, but still good enough that I can enjoy the game. I also have 512 megs of RAM and have absolutely no problems with slowness other then when day turns to night or vice versa. Mind you, this is the only time I experience any kind of slowness. The loading time is good as well and I have to say that it sure does beat the loading time that it took to load the Sims 1! I used to have to wait almost 30 minutes for TS1 to load, and now, it loads within 5 minutes. I'm very pleased about that!

I haven't ran into any major bugs within the game. The only bug that I have experienced had to do with their arms getting stuck in one position, and this I only experienced one time (I've had the game since the release on Sept. 17th). I exited the house and went back to the neighborhood and then back into the house and the problem was gone, so it wasn't a major glitch, but yet something simple and minor. Maxis does a real good job at addressing any known game glitches and releases a patch that will fix these known issues. To date, there has been two game patches. I downloaded and installed them anyway, even though I've had no issues in regards to bugs.

I really do think that this game is worth the purchase, this is absolutely the best game I've played. The good in this game out weighs the bad in my opinion!!
