Love it

This game is awsome. It is fun and very inventive. The graphics are good and I love that you are able to create your own sims and design your own houses.

Although I have played this game before, at a uncle's house, my mom and dad are iffy about me buying this game for our home computer. They think the game may have "bad" content in it. I now it is ok but they are still not sure. So I need some help confincing them that this game is alright. So if you could please add a coment telling them how this game is ok for a [..]like me. I love this game and really want to be able to play it at home at any time I want. So if you could please comment on how this game is ok for a mature [..]. They think blurring out the sims in the bath is a bad thing so please help me.

I don't want this review to confuse you by making you think I have never played this game before because my mom and dad are not sure if this game is teenager friendly. This game is amazing and I am always playing it at my uncle's house. It is alot of fun with many things to do and accomplish. So don't get me wrong this is my favorite game of all time and I highly reccomend it to annyone who is looking for a new and fun game. I would also say that this is one of the easiest games to play from 7:00 in the morning to 11:00 at night. So much fun and is an extreme must have. I highly reccomed it to anyone.

So please help me confince my parents that this game is awsome and approprate. So please comment. Sorry for any spelling issues, I'm not the best speller. PLEASE COMMENT!!!!

Needs more options but still great

I bought this game about six months ago and love it.I will say that I'm so happy I'm out of school because it's kind of addicting and you play it for hours without realizing it.
My favorite thing about the game is the romantic options.I've had Sims with 10 lovers and it's a lot of fun balancing them. Also,I love the big families and right now the Pleasant family has nine kids(some moved out). I hate most of the clothes and hairstyles though.I'll probally just get better ones from other websites.
I wish the game wasn't so perfect.I have to create dysfunctional families just to make the game more interesting.(There has been a lot of cheating going on in Pleasantview). They should put out a game where Sims can have more problems.A more urban version.
One other problem I have is with the glitches.Objects have become stuck as well as Sims. For days,Mortimer Goth and Dina Caliente were stuck hopelessly in the hottub.I just went back to the Goth household and moved her in.A few days later I create a new family and move them into Dina's old house.I was shocked to find Mortimer laying on the floor asleep and stinky in his swimsuit. He died a couple minutes later and when I returned to the Goth household to see if any damage had been done he was relaxing on the bed as a ghost. He disappeared shortly after.
The game is fun but it needs improvements.Maybe a Sims 3 will be better.

Loved 'The Sims,' Hate 'The Sims2'

This game is extremely slow, freezes, and is blurry. I have uninstalled it, and reinstalled it once on my computer. It is still running with the same problems. My sister also bought it for her computer, hers freezes so that she has to completely restart her computer. Once it's frozen she can't even hit ctrl, alt, delete to close it out. I have all the original Sims games, but this one was not worth the $50. This game just has too many problems, I think I'll stick with the original Sims through Makin' Magic.

Horrible Game

I highly suggest that you don't get this game. It is a huge wast of money. They priced this game $49.99 when it should only be worth $9.99. Unless you have the newest computer then you have to buy a whole bunch of extra stuff like new video cards and sound drivers. I always have a very highly updated computer but I still will have to pay a lot of money just to play this game. Although I will probably end up returning it for it is not worth the trouble. When I first got this game I tried it on 2 of my computers (windows 98 and windows me - it is said to work on both of those computers) when it didn't work I thought that that particular package just didn't work. But when I brought home the exchanged one that one didn't work either. So I tried everything that it says to try (even shutting down the virus scanner and other background tasks) and it still didn't work. If you bought/buy this game I suggest that you return it.

I am SO excited about the release of the sims 2! It is awesome that ur sims can age and the graphics are soooooooooo COOL! I've been waitin 4 this so I can make a teen. Also, it's cool that u can build a house more than 2 stories tall and can have a basement or vacation house. BUT my fave part of all is the create-a-sim tool! U can apply makeup, pick the hairstyle, pick their age and all kinds ov stuff!!!! U can choose from caucasian, tan (I forget what they call it) african american, chinese, persian, alien and something else. It's gonna b SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool! I can't wait. Maxis needed something new and this is just it! This is also gonna be a best-seller. Buy TS2!!!!! It comes out March 2004.

[I'm not under 13, but I thought it safer to post here]
Until the game is actually released, no one can honestly rate the game nor boast of it's "greatness". Ideally, the game description is what every Sim fan dreams about. Anyone who has played The Sims(orginal), and bought into each of the expansion packs knows there were bugs (major bugs)with every pack...obvious problems that could've been corrected prior to release. Maxis patched some problems, but not all (those without the Internet are out of luck completely). Maxis posted add-ons online--many of which contained bugs themselves. Instead they want everyone to toss aside their $240+ investment, start over & buy The Sims 2. From their track record, I believe it will have many bugs & will not work as described (if you think your gameplay is slow now, you best buy the latest, best & most expensive PC now, so you might be able to play the game as it's described). If the game still isn't "great", just wait, maybe Maxis will issue a patch in The Sims 2 Expansion Packs...maybe. BTW, go ahead & toss out all your user created objects as well--Maxis will change the format of things & your fav objects won't work. People will buy, Maxis will get rich, there will be bugs, and the fad will die. Just my thoughts...

THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REVIEWS!! Geez

I don't know why people think that they need to come here to say stupid things like "This game is gonna rock!" , or "My mommy pre-ordered this game before video games were invented and it is going to be the greatest thing ever!". Reviews are written by people who have ALREADY played something. It is funny that there are almost 400 posts by people saying the exact same thing, and none of you are posting anything but hearsay and opinions.

DO NOT BUY

I am a big fan of the SIMS ONE so when this came out I was excited. I was given this game and the expansion packs...please, unless you want headaches and times filled with frustration do not buy this. Ok the game itself is great, the graphics the new items...yeah great. BUT to play it is another story. I have been on the phone with the Tech support which isn't helpful at all...I have been on the website downloading patches to help solve the freezing and crashing and nothing has helped yet. I have owned this game for over a month now and have only gotten it to work possibly (I am guessing in favor of the game) an hour or so. My computer is well and above what the game requires to run on and I also go in and turn off any of my programs that may run in the background that may interfere and as of yet NOTHING has worked. If this gamed hadn't been a gift and the receipts unfortunately thrown away it would have been out of my house a long time ago...but since it is a gift I feel obligated to try and get the D**n thing to work...sorry it is annoying to have someone pay this much money for some pretty packaging and a promise of great times only to be disappointed to nothing but frustration...I have gone back to SIMS 1 and although it isn't half as good in the graphics, it runs great and I can play for more than ten minutes at a time or have to reboot because the game froze or crashed....

Victim of marketing

This could have been the best game in HISTORY. Really. But the guys at EA just had to ruin it.

They make up completely the min. requirements, so everyone will buy it, but only 1 out of 7 will be able to play it.

They reduce the objects, careers, furniture, walls, floors, etc to a skeleton minimium, to force the user to buy expansion packs.

They make sure there is nothing new except 4th floors & aging, and make 1000 expansion packs, to make most money out of the game.

I undestand if they want to make money, otherwise they wouldn't have created EA in the first place, but this is crossing the limit. Make a succesful game, then release 1000 expansion packs, upgrade the original to 3D, and release the 1000 exp packs again so all the parents are forced to buy the same thing twice.

To sum it up, this game is just the original with better graphics. Save your money for something else.

What's the Deal?

I've always been a big Sims fan. I remember reading last spring that the Sims 2 was coming out in December 2003. I was so excited and I couldn't wait! Then, a few months later, I read February 2004. A little disappointing, but I figured I could manage. Then, I heard it was going to be released in March. I bit down hard, but I can't do anything about letting them release it earlier. Now I hear JUNE?!?!? I know they have to work out everything, but this is insane!!! I have waited all I can and if they don't release it earlier than that, all of my excitement will run out (it's all ready dropped drastically) and I might not even buy it at all.
