For twenty bucks, this is one of the best games you can buy next to Gran Turisom 3. You get blisters it's so addictive. Graphics still look great for a game that's a year old. Just goes to show that the playstation 2 still has teeth. Levels aren't too simplistic so that there is lots of challenge to it. The level of customization on players and gear is funny as hell. Tony Hawk wearing a cowboy hat or beer cap is just too much. This game rocks!!

Ok, I would like to say that the game starts off really fun, and exciting, but at the end it starts to get lame as yo gain stat points. You will eventually have a fully upgraded character and will be able to do tricks so impossible, it takes the fun out of the game! I think there should be a Tony Hawk Am Skater, where gravity is actually in play, and you have to learn your tricks.

THPS3 is slammin! You can do gnarlie moves with Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Kareem Campbell,Rune Glifberg,Eric Koston,Bucky Lasek, Bam Margera(from MTV fame),Rodney Mullen,Chad Muska,Andrew Reynolds,Geoff Rowley,Jamie Thomas, and last but not least, Elissa Steamer. Or if not you can create your own custom skater to do phat moves on. From my personal expierience this game is trippin' so you gotta try it. See ya on the flip side fellow video gamers!!!!

i have THPS 1 and 2 and they both rule in the world of video game skateboarding. i just bought this game the other day and i cant get enough. the graphics are great. the levels are great. the complexity of the tricks are sweet. i could care less about real-life skateboarding but the THPS series are just the best. this game will totally rule over THPS 2x for the XBOX. (everything will rule over the XBOX). this is another MUST HAVE for all PS2 owners!

This is a totally sick Tony Hawk game dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every Tony Hawk game gets better and Better and BETTER and BETTER!!!!!! Tony Hawks Pro Skater was an awesome game! Worth like 100 stars on a scale of 1-5! THPS2 was sick! It was worth like 200 stars on a scale of 1-5!! And THPS3, worth 400 stars on a scale of 1-5! They have better and bigger levels than the other ones. There are people walking around on THPS3 unlike the first two. You can't talk to them like on THPS4, but it's cool. If you beat the last contest, Tokyo, you unlock the level Cruise Ship! Like it says it's a cruise ship. You can also unlock three levels from THPS1! Warehouse, Burnside, and Roswell. You can ALSO unlock new skaters like Darth Maul, Wolverine, Ollie the Magic Bum (a bum from THPS2), Kelly Slater (a surfer), Officer Dick, Private Carerra, Demoness, and the Neversoft Eyeball from the Neversoft add at the start! You should buy this game!!!!!!

I think the graphics are improved from Tony Hawk 2 but not too significantly. I think Tony Hawk 2 was a more fun game to play than Tony Hawk 3, the levels on the 2nd one are better and the ramps are laid out better to get huge amounts of points. I wish I hadn't bought the 3rd one without renting it first.

Great Tony Hawk style but lacking depth!

I was a huge fan of THPS2 on Dreamcast. I think I beat the game with every character and opened up all the secret levels. So naturally when I bought my PS2 I ran out and grabbed THPS3. Well at first it was great. Same great style and fun to play but after I gotinto it I realized that it was just the same game in some new levels. Now the levels were more creative than 2's but they were not as compelling to play. In fact I downright hated many of the levels you got to. There were few improvements over 2, just the revert eveyone talks about and the create-a-park was pretty much the same. I never really got into this version and I beat it through in a few days and gave it on to a friend. I can't wait to pick up THPS4 because that is where they really make strides in bettering this already great series.
Simple, and Fun

This is not a difficult game to get into. The controls are unbeiliebaly simple to learn, but still take some time to master. Once you do however, skating around the game's huge levels will feel like second nature.
The graphics are good. Nothing ground-breaking, but certainly up to Playstation 2 standards. The soundtrack is awesome as well.
