This game is a logical extension of the Tony Hawk franchise, and it amazinly finds a way to be superior to its younger brother, Tony Hawk 2. The games graphics are above average, and the framerate is very consistent. The control scheme is very useful for performing hundreds of different tricks. The player roster is impressive, and the amount of unlockable characters in this game serve to highlight this fact. The sound is great as well, Blitzkrieg Pop is one of the highlights of the sound track. The game also contains an unfathomable amount of extras to unlock, and that carries the replay value a long ways. Of course, the excellent multiplayer mode is what gives the game the most replay value of all, especially considering the fact that there is a create-a-park mode for the more creative gamer.
However, this game becomes very easy much too quickly, and beating the game with other characters becomes a chore rather than a mission. Also, it is unfortunate that Activision decided to leave out a gap checklist.
Despite these shortcomings, Tony Hawk 3 is a valuable addition to any gamer's library.
Buy it, it's great, but just don't get too excited.

I was really excited when I heard Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 was coming out, and so I eagerly pre-ordered a copy of the game. When I played it, I noticed that it wasn't a great game. It was good, but they should have made it a lot better. The graphics had huge glitches and it really annoyed me, and although you could play it across the internet, it hasn't had much of improvement. It has had a bit, but not much. If I were you, I would definitely buy it if you don't have any of the previous two versions and if you have one or both of them, I still probably would but if you're not sure wheather to buy this or something else, I would MAYBE think about buying something else, but it is a great game, and if you have the chance to, I would buy it.

I won't write a review on the game itself. Since there are more than enough of those posted already, I thought I'd share my opinion on the videos that you obtain at the end after you beat the game in Career Mode. I'll start off by stating the obvious(or at least in my opinion); the sickest video of the bunch would have to be Rodney Mullen's. Other ones that were entertaining were Koston, Reynold, and Rowley. Margera too was fun to watch being his "Jackass" self.
WARNING: Read no further if you have not seen the videos and do not wish to know about them.
As I have previously stated, Rodney Mullen has the sickest video, the same case in THPS 2. And some of the clips you see in THPS 2 appear in 3 as well. Such as that grainy video of him doing the Casper Slide, and the one where he does a nose manual, nollie flip into another nose manual from table-to-table. I tell ya, Mullen never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think you've seen it all, he whips out more from his trictionary. After you're introduced to Mullen, he starts off the video with a one-handed hand stand and flips the board into a statue of liberty stance (SICK). And of course we're also treated with his obligatory free-style tricks. What's a Rodney Mullen video without it? Other moments worth mentioning: his 360-flip into a Darkslide (both regular and switch stance), and when he did a 5-0 grind and shovit into a nose grind on a bench.
Andrew Reynold's video was also pretty cool. Highlight of the video was a sweet frontside flip down a huge set of stairs. Did you guys know he shares a place with Jim Greco and that he no longer skates for Birdhouse but for Baker now? Thought I'd share that interesting bit of information.
Geoff Rowley's video takes place primarily at what looks like a skate competition. Pulled a couple of nice tricks here and there, including a Hurricane Grind. The latter part of his video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at his Vans commercial where did a Frontside Flip over the gap.
Eric Koston's video was also fun to watch. Some tricks worth mentioning were his switch Heelflip down a set of stairs, a nollie heelflip backside noseslide on a handrail, and a backside nose blunt, also down a rail. And if you look closely, you'll see Rick Mcrank (from ESPN Skateboarding) sitting next to Koston in the restaurant.
Bam Margera doesn't have much worth mentioning except for a sweet kickflip tailslide down a pillar. Not much other then that. But he manages to keep your attention with his usual "Jackass" routines. Although a lot of it consist of him jumping off of high places, (from a 2nd story balcony onto a cars rooftop, from balcony onto a crowd of people at a concert) it's entertaining nonetheless.
Oh, and on Pro Bails 2, look at the first guy's left leg after he tries to frontside 5-0 a rail. SICK, and not in the good sense.
Fun - Well worth the money

I didn't play THPS2 much at all but this version is great. I really like SSX and this is as close as you can get. I think I still like SSX a bit better but nothing comes close to the trick system in this game. It'll take some time to master. My only regret is there is no way to turn of the blood when you hit the pavement which I think is a mistake. It really bothers my younger kids and it seems like it would have been a small thing to have added a way to disable this in the game.

Once again Tony comes through again. Being state-of-the-art graphics and of course who can deny true power of the online capabilities. Tony has beat all competitors again and will continue to do so if he keeps of the effort. Keep the sweetness coming!!!!!
more of the same

If you liked the previous 2 you will like the newest addition. The control is great and the new scoring system is cool. TONS OF STUFF TO UNLOCK! you can even be darth maul....I only gave it 4 stars because...its more of the same and because the levels arent as great as number 2. The levels seem to be smaller and some of them really ......I mean who wants to skate in canada anyways? and on snow?
A perfect game

This game is perfect. It has an awsome soundtrack and stunning graphics. It has a big selection of professional skateboarders. it has cool tricks and lots of playingworlds like Tokyo, Canada, and Airport. It,s a good game, but it's a little hard so I rated it 4 star. But I'm telling you,TONY HAWK PRO SKATER 3 RULES!!!
Outdated, but still the best Skatebording game around.

This game was made over 1 year ago. It has average graphics (nothing to show off here). However the gameplay more than makes up for the visual dissapoinment. You can create your own skatepark, and play throughout the many pre-made levels. If you beat certain levels you can select new skateboards. Overall this is a great game....
Fun but not perfect

I found this game very fun but I have the following complaints:
1.The career mode is boring(I just enter a code so I can freeskate every level.
2.The level designs are bad for certain levels(tokyo)
3.It is loaded with annoying booby traps which make you crash(thay are also placed in great skater spots).
4.Rather than having walls your character is just put back at the start(Just stupid)
But the revert is cool and so is the music, so I guess I will give it a good score.
