This is one of the best games on the planet. Similar to the original, but this game has more stuff than just skating around and getting the pro score tape in the first 20 seconds with the 10x multiplier code. The addition of money was a great idea, plus create-a-skater, and the park editor. Building skate parks with the games park editor is already worth the money. The graphics are boosted well up from the original, the soundtrack is much better than the original. and the multiplayer games are rad. (For example, the thrill of playing horse with your own pro skater in your own park. This is a must buy, and, as I said before, one of the greatest games on the planet.

If You Own A Playstation,This Is A Must.Even If Ya Are Not Interested In Skateboarding There Is A Great Chance that Ya Still Would Like This Game,13 Skaters To Choose From,Modes Include Multiplayer(Graffti,Horse Etc),Freeskate,Create-A-Skater And More.Theres A Truck Load Of Secrets To Be Unlocked(Secret Characters,New Boards,Perfect Balance)And Stuff Like That.Spiderman Even Appears For F**k Sake,Stupid To Say The Least But It's Somethin'.Other Skating Games Don't Come Close,It Wipes The Floor With The Original.Buy It!

This game is cool. I mean when you create a park, when I played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and saw the same results. Over all theis game is the best. Lots of chalenges, and the most fun is creating a park!

I bought this game after hearing everyone say how great it is. I have previously been burned after going for games, movies, etc that everyone said was excellent. I dunno, maybe I have very high expectations when everyone builds something up? anywho, this game is a disappointment. The tricks are fun to do for the first couple of hours or so, but it gets old real quick, plus the difficulty of accomplishing the missions objectives is, in my opinion, needlessly difficult.
I got this game for Christmas and I've stopped playing it already (today's 12/27/2001). Waste of $20...

I think this is a very enjoyable game for adults and children to play, but I was very disgusted in the choice of music that was picked for this game. I have younger children and this game is rated for ages 13 and up but I still think it is inappropriate for any ages to be listening to. There is one song in paticular that talks about killing ourselves and repeats the word kill over and over again. If I had known the music was going to have lyrics in it like this I never would have bought this game even though it is very fun to play. I don't know why anyone would think that it was appropriate to put songs like this in games that children and teenagers especially would be playing.

alright i would first like to say that i actually skate, and i am not a fat man on his couch that plays video games all day long. i have found one word to describe the quality of this game: poor
first: Insanely unrealistic ,hey sorry to tell you if you actually think this could happen,but there is no way ever that someone could ever do a 73 trick combo let alone 1 % of the stuff you can do in that game, which i have done becuaes it is extremely easy, i think i got like over 5hundred thousand points on one trick one time... i rented it and played it for like 2 days
second: if you actually pay attention, you might notice that all the ledges in the game are about 3 feet taller than your skater, and since the highest ollie ever is around 5 feet by stacy lowery, it is just about impossible to do overturned crook grinds on 8 foot ledges
third; tony hawk has made many little children want to start skating, everywhere you look now there are little children skating and if you talk to them i can guarantee you that they will say "hey man have you ever played tony hawk??", its like an teenybopper trend and it needs to stop ..... now
do not buy this game, if you really want to buy a game that is worthwhile and fun and hard and realistic, get thrasher, its realistic and fun and great
just dont buy this poor attempt at what skating really is

Tony hawk pro skater 2 give me a new chance to get back on my playstation . I even bought a new Ps one to play it everywhere. I want to know who said tony hawk is the best skateboarding game? It is not THE best skateboarding name , but the best game ever to touch the playstation heaven . Do you understand that? By the way ... this game is not an anti-mod chip game. So if you have a mod-chip , dont be affraid to spend 39 box ...

After the huge success of Tony Hawk Pro Skater, it is no big shocker that a sequel was created. Activision/Neversoft deliver more of the same great skateboarding in THPS2, only this time, there are different locations to skate, more tricks, new skaters, etc. In almost every category Activision offers more than the original game.
The skating itself is fast-paced and I have yet to see any freeze-ups on the Playstation version. There is also a greater amount of detail/smoothnes of the action this time around. The new locations (New York, Mexico, etc) offer infinite possibilities for trick combinations.
The only flaws in this game are somewhat minor. When creating a skater, the system seems to have a mind of its own, making a selection by itself and moving on to the next category.
Secondly, the soundtrack in THPS2 is horrible. Most of the tracks are noisy, with no smooth hooks, and serve as a distraction while you are playing. I have turned the music completely off several times, especially during the rage against the machine song.
