There is simply no better skateboading game. Don't even bother playing Grind Session or Street Skating 2. They are okay, but don't even compare to Tony Hawk 2. It plays just like the first game, but is infinitly better. All new levels, more skateboarders, secerets to keep you busy for months, this game has it all. Almost any gamer can get in to this game with no sweat. The learning curve may be a bit high when you first start, but after three levels, you will be a pro. You can create your own skater, create new skate parks, buy states and tricks to add even more depth. The possibilitys are endless. The only gripe I have is there aren't enough levels. The game can get extremly repetitive after you unlock every level in the game. Despite this, it is still an exellent game, that no true gamer can be without.

THPS2 is the best skateboarding game ever because the gameplay is awesome and there is alot of great tricks. You can build your own skatepark, too!! You can make your own skater and watch movies and the list goes on and on. The graphics arnet #1, but who cares?? They're still really good. Well, I recommend this game to any1 who likes skateboarding. And even if you dont like skateboarding, you just have to love this sweet game!

I first played this at my friend's house, and I LOVED IT! It's full of cool moves, and interesting modes, like HORSE. I've never played the first Tony Hawk game, so I can't compare it to this one. ...Three words: BUY THIS TODAY! I ask nothing more.

this game may have overdone it. The second to this series finds Tony a bit older and wiser. You now have to perform harder tricks to gat paid, so you can pay for better stats and better equipment, and only after you earn a certain amount, then you can proceed to other levels. This becomes bothersome. But if that wasn't enough now you can learn new tricks(after paying for them) which you can perform after peak performances and hitting the correct combo buttons. Most times after playing you want to take a nap. You almost long for the days when you just skated or died. I believe the next Tony Hawk game may be set up where Tony becomes retired and as a new recruit you have to fight crime with your new batmobile and skateboard. That's of course only if you make enough money to open those levels up.

This game is fun but almost everything you do is impossible. The game is fun and challenging but it doesn't get even close to looking real. Trust me, I love skateboarding and I would wait. the first one allowed you to jump off of a building and land, at least you can't do that as easily in the second one but in both games you get right back up after getting hit by a car and a skateboard magically appears under your feet. The makers should have been on earth, in the real world when they designed the game.
better than the 1st

After playing the 1st Hawk for like 6 months I decided to buy Hawk 2 to see what all the fuss was about. First thing that I noticed when I started playing were that the graphics were smoother and better looking. The second thing I noticed was that I was really good a Hawk 2 because many of the controls are the same as the 1st 1. this is a good thing I guess. As for the levels, They are very well designed but school 2 doesn't compare to the the first 1. It doesn't have that 1 level that I wanna keep playing over and over. Tony Hawk 2 has many new tricks that can be done. Also, it now has a park editor w/ pre-made parks which is kinda cool. But I like to stick to the real levels. All in all this game is phat. Better than the 1st? yes but barely.
Did someone say Tony Hawk 3???? November, 2001.

This is an awesome game. Even if you are not a skateboarder, you'll enjoy this game very much. I am not a skateboarder, and this game has given me hours of fun. The sound tracks are really cool too.
It'll Be The "Die Hard Trilogy" of Video Games!

Back when the Nintendo Entertainment System was the high-tech video game system, a game called "Skate of Die" came out. It was amazing, it flew of the shelves faster that you could say the title, it started a new mini-genre of games. Over the years, skating games came out trying to do what "Skate of Die" did. Unfortunatly, none of them could. But when "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater" came it did what no other game did (no other game but Skate of Die, of course). Just hearing the name, Tony Hawk in a video game title would attract any kid who is normal. It was Neversoft's first release and I think they'll be staying is buisness for awhile. Tony Hawk 1 was simply incredible and brought back that special feeling that Skate or Die put in everybody. And when peolple had finished for Tony Hawk 1, they were craving for something new. Tony Hawk 2 will fill them up just right.
This game is baiscally just like the first one with a few added features which are very welcome. And more of the first isn't bad either. Some of the new features are the park editor which allows you to build your own park, creat a skater which allows you to create your own skater, and new pros and new locations. Some of the tricks are also different, which was a smart move because it proves that this game is better and "newer." And, like the first one, you don't stop playing for hours. I predict that these sequels will keep coming out until Tony Hawk is no longer. By then, we'll have what could be the "Die Hard Trilogy" of video games!
So if you don't have this game, go get (duh!) if you don't have the first one, go get both of'em, and if you don't know about then, you are just plain stupid!
