Sonic advances.

The game is called Sonic Advance.
It's a 2D game in the style of the original Mega Drive/Genesis classics.
But it's better.
The music is perfect. The animations on eaach character are lovingly lavished, and actually succeed in giving each character some --- well, some _character_. The gameplay is the classic Sonic of old, but with more intricate levels, more moves, different ways to do things. It is, infact, Sonic, advanced.
But picture this situation.
You play through a selection of seven zones with your choice of the hedgehog himself, Tails, Knuckles, or Amy.
Within a short while, you might beat the story. You might conclude that the game is "too easy" and that you ave wasted your money.

You might have missed the taunting image of Robotnik telling you to get the Chaos Emeralds.

You might have to go back and find the Secret Springs: one in each level. Normally in regularly inaccessible places.

You might have to complete the Special Stages. If there is someone on Earth who considers these stages "too easy" I truly do not wish to meet them.

Once having done so, you might have to beat the final hidden boss.

Then, having done that, you could decide to open the Tiny Chao Garden. You play around with it for a bit, you try your hand at the ring-earning minigames - perhaps unsuccessfully. Perhaps you again conclude that this isn't too good.

Perhaps you fail to notice that you earn rings from finishing levels as well.
Perhaps you do not own Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for GCN, or do not know of the connection capability between the Chao gardens of the two games.

The game is called Sonic Advance. Apt.

This game is really good. It has only 6 zones, but fun. The zones aren't to hard, and long, but still good. The graphics are exellent, the ghameplay is awesome, and the Chao. You can buy food for your Chao with rings. And getting the Chaos Emeralds are really hard. The Special Stages are great, but they're really hard. But this game is one of the best games for the GBA. You must get this game!

For those older Sonic fans, Sonic Advance is just like the 2D side scrolling games that we all know and love. Only now the blue blur and company are displayed in sharper and more detailed surroundings on the Gameboy Advance.
What makes Sonic Advance so great that it deserves 5 stars? Well, fisrt of all there are the levels. These aren't small, easy quick levels at all when you explore them. At first they may seem like that when you start out, but don't be fooled, there many hidden surprises, such as Extra Lives and Special Stages as well. Then, there are the boss battles which aren't impossible, but are just hard enough to challenge a new player's skills and to keep the old masters on their toes. As if this wasn't already a perfect game, the player can choose to be either Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, or Amy Rose. Each of these characters have different skills and abilites, so Sonic Advance is a game that always keeps the player going.
All of what has been mentioned so far does not inculde the wonderful linking play. With one game pak and the Gameboy Advance Cable, up to four people can play a ring hunting game. However, if you have four people and four paks, then you can race or seacrh for lost Chao. And as an added bonus, if there are more than two people and everyone has a game pak, you can play as teams.
Last, but not least, are the lovable Chao! Sonic Advance allows you to raise your own Chao and give it toys to play with, while raising its stats so that you can link up to the GameCube and dominate the Chao Race and Chao Karate there. You can also perchase eggs that will hatch into more Chao on Sonic Adventure 2: Battle via the GameCube-Gameboy Advance cable. The trick to getting the egg you want is to wait before you buy, then get some more rings and check the store for the new type of egg. The fast way to get rings is to collect them in Time Trial Mode. Act 1 Zone 1 is a good place for hundreds of rings.
In short, Sonic Advance is one of the best games made for this next generation system. Even if the you can't link the game, Sonic Advance will keep you busy for hours. So, kick back, relax, and get ready for the best supersonic hedgehog combat hand-held game there is on a portable system!

Sonic Advance is the world's BEST video game EVER!!! Because.... well, I don't know it's just SO much fun!!! What you have to do is try and defeat Dr. Robotnik. It has 7 zones (Zones are levels.) The zones are from a winter wonder world all the way to paradise. You can play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. ...I'd say 95 percent of the time I play my Gameboy I play Sonic Advance. So buy it! It's a MUST!

Very well done. This game adds a nice flavor to the new Sonic. No wonder this was one of the best GBA games of its year. Though it maybe on the short side, it makes up in "Sonic Advance 2". This entire "Advance" series is sooo good that they have decided to make a "Sonic Advance 3" (no lie!...just check on www.gamefaqs.com /or/ www.gamespot.com). Overall, it just keeps gettin' betta'. So buy this game before it's extinct... I assure you that you won't be dissapointed...or too dissapointed.

This game is fun, but not the best. It is something you might play when you are bored or have nothing else to do, but not for everlasting fun. I'd honestly rate any sonic related item five stars because even though it wasn't really the greatest sonic game, sonic still deserves five stars.

this is a great game. first of all its a sonic game.you also get to use tails, knuckles, or amy!if you have Sonic Adventure 2:battle you can trade you choa to this game if you cant bring your cube. This is a fast paced and very fun game. Get it if you like good games or get it because its a sonic game

Reminds me of the ol' Sega Genesis

This game is excellent. You have four characters for one thing, each with their own special power. For example:

Sonic - Can charge up and blast off at top speed anywhere on flat ground unlimited times

Miles "Tails" - Can fly for a good amount of time unlimited times

Knuckles - Can glide for a good amount of time and climb up walls unlimited times

Amy - Has excellent attacks with her hammer

Four characters keeps you interested for a long while. Also, the levels are pretty cool and have quite a few different ways to do them. It's a really fun game, especially if you like quick-moving ones. Sonic is still going strong!
