The Missing Pokemon?

Overall, a wonderful new Pokemon game. Buy it, whichever version you want. Yes, all that is said is true about the missing Pokemon.. only 200 are directly catchable. I believe that this is because they intend to have E-Cards available for the uncatchables. All the data for your favorites like Chokirita, Charmander, Bulbasaur are all in there, so they were redrawn, reprogrammed and included for a reason!

As for the uncatchables... get yourself a Gameshark, go find a Gameshark FAQ codes list, and end of worries.

I just bought this game less than 24 hours ago (one of the lucky few to actually get one on the day of its release in Australia - nearly all the stores sold out with an hour of opening). Also, as a great added bonus, it came with a carry case for my GBA! Something that I'd been looking for for weeks, and couldn't find anywhere!

So far, despite having the game for less than twenty-four hours, I've found that it far exceeds my expectations. The graphics are great, and the story is different enough from the earlier versions to be refreshing for long-time Pokemon fans.

And for all those who insist on dissing the game, could you at least be courteous enough to use spell and grammar check before you submit your reviews? I swear, half of you are totally illegible with what you write.

Now, I can't comment on this game in comparison with other GBA games, as it is my first. However, in comparison to the six preceeding Pokemon games, I'd have to say it is outstanding.
Okay, so I've only played a short way into the game. So far everything I've experienced has been to my maximum enjoyment, and I'm certain that it can only get better.
I took the liberty of putting the Sapphire version on Lay-Buy for myself, so when I do eventually complete Ruby, I can move straight onto the next one, and catch different legendary Pokemon.
I seriously think Nintendo have done very well with this latest installment of the Pokemon series. Obviously there are going to be similarities between the games - it wouldn't be Pokemon if they completely changed the rules and format.
But, the new Pokemon, the completely new setting and the new style of characters and battling makes these new games totally worth having.

As with Pokemon Crystal, you again have the option of choosing to be a boy or a girl (a great change for female fans who are fed up with having to pretend to be Ash). One interesting change in Ruby and Sapphire, though, is that your trainer character has a father as well as a mother - a father who is the gym leader in the first town you come to. You don't battle against him at your first meeting, though. That will come later, when you have four badges.

I can't discuss much about the game yet as I've only gotten as far as the first city, but it promises great things, and I cannot wait for 5pm so I can get to my train, settle into a seat and lose myself in Pokemon Ruby for a blissful hour.

These games are great, and it is well worth having at least one, if not both. Hang the expense - some things are worth it.

This game kicks ...!

Simply a great game. It's even more fun if you have Pokemon Sapphire, 2 Gameboy AdvanceSP's, and a Gameboy Advance link cable. Both of these games are nothing like the others. They're
way better.100 new Pokemon have been discovered, and you can do
2 on 2 battles. However,I'd say this game is suitable for kids 6 and up. Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy it. I have
both versions, and if you want to ask me anything, give me a buzz

its one of the best games in the land.it will be even better on my new gameboy advance sp ....with more than 100 new pokemon it'll last for hours before i want to put it down.i have some games that after 10 min.it gets boaring and i nver ply it.well not this one.its fun and a liitle chalenging.good for both those who are bigging the world of pokemon and those who are pros at it.plus even if you are pros at it u better watch out it has 2 on 2 battles and contest for streight and cuteness.it adds a lot of realy neat details too like u can ride in a boat, ride a bike,it rains in some of the game[the world u live in is hattoe]u can still have 1 on 1 battles though wich is good.these are some of the things that onvinced me to buy the game now it's your turn.

Not Just for Kids

I'm not a Pokemon fan. I've only watched the cartoon a few times, I don't play the card game, and I don't collect the toys (OK, I have a stuffed Pikachu, but that's all!)

But ... I have all of the Pokemon Game Boy games so far, and I will almost certainly have to have Ruby and Sapphire when they come out, too.

These games are really entertaining little RPGs. Just because they're popular with (and appropriate for) kids, doesn't mean adult gamers won't enjoy them.

Collecting little monsters to battle against each other is a nice change from the usual hack-and-slash RPG.

Don't let the Pokemon name scare you off. If you like RPGs, it's worth trying this one.

game is so cool to me, can't you see......oh...whoops

Pokemon!

Yea. I used to be crazed about pokemon. Pokemon cards, toys games... all that good stuff. Though I have gotten rid of all that stuff and I'm "grown up" now.... I am still going to get this game. Pokemon started in the gameboy format, and Ruby, Saphire are sure to be big hits! I don't even remember most of the original pokemon's names, but this game is so great you cant pass it up!
It's like an RPG, but with a twist. The random overworld enimies (the pokemon) you want to find instead of avoid. There are endless possibilites.
My rating: 8/10

New World, New Pokémon

This game was one of the most awaited games of the year in Japan, and it is sure to be so in America. With the graphics greatly improved and 100 new Pokémon, this game is will sell fast. There are many Pokédex enhancements, Trainer Eyes, which allows you to look up info on trainers you battled, and much more. The three starter Pokémon are Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip. Team Rocket is also gone, now replaced by Team Aqua or Magma. (varies between versions) Also new contests and personalities of Pokémon will be a big hit. The 2-on-2 battles also add more fun and stratigizing. This game is great...
Updated Part:
Ok, now I got the game and it's as great as thought it would be!! The contests, your PokéNav, everything is so cool! I am, however, displeased with the quality of the Pokémon. A lot of them are really weird and pointless. If you would like to voice your opinion, view the discussion boards. But there still is no doubt, THIS GAME IS GREAT!!
