I have the first 3 RCT (Roller Coaster Tycoon) Games and just by looking at the screen shots makes want to order it without permision. The first games were a ggreat learning experience, and highly recomend this game to kids that love amusement parks.
I hope this review helped you...for loads of information on Roller Coaster Tycoon!!

You probably think this game dosen't deserve 5 stars, I don't either, but it's the highest I can give! This game is great. The reasons are
1. All new scenery.
2. Six Flags rides, ride signs, parks, and scenery.
3. New game modes such as scenario designer and track designer
Oh bye the way watch the tutorial and you'll find something realy new!!! Good luck!!!

The programmers must have fell asleep!

I am a huge fan of RCT, and this second edition is very disappointing. I am absolutely amazed by the bugs and glitches I've found after playing just a few times- I'm talking about very simple things that I can't imagine them not catching during their QA process. For example, a cool new feature is that many of the rides that formerly required you to build from scratch come complete with a track, queue lines/paths and even built in scenery ready to place- a great idea. However, if you change your mind and delete the new ride, only the ride itself disappears- you're stuck with all the paths, walls, bushes, etc., which you may or may not be able to remove! I'm also having trouble with the placement of stalls- you think you've put it just where you want it, and the next thing you know, you get a message that people can't get to the stall. When you go back and rotate your view, you find that it's actually floating in midair! Doesn't it seem that they would have played the game a little to make sure everything was working before it was released?

There are a lot of other nice updates, and RCT2 has the potential to surpass the quality and enjoyment of the original. However, I would recommend that you stick with the first version until a few patches and updates are made available- otherwise, the frustration will overshadow the fun, and you'll wish you hadn't spent that $ until it was more worth it.

Very nice upgrade

This game is one of the most addictive you can find. If you never played the original, then go buy it used on Ebay and enjoy it for months. Then, in a few years when that bores you, get this updated version. It is very similar, but with many new features. The best sequels leave the gameplay alone and just expand on the options. RCT2 is a must buy if you like to planning games. Also, building roller coasters will bring out your creative side. The roller coaster design function is awesome. If you had RCT original, buy this now and love it for a few more years.

I think this is an ok game. All the Rollercoasters are so extreme no one will go on them. There is never enough money either. I would not reccomend this game if you want to have a great time.

This game is super fun. I like making my own levels and building the craziest and best rollercoasters. There are so many different types of rollercoasters. I've had Rollercoaster Tycoon for at least 2 or 3 years and I still enjoy playing it. One of my levels has $500,000!
:)Best game ever:)

Thank God there's a new RCT but...

I've played RCT1 for 24/7 in the last few years so it's not questionable that I'm one of the million RCT fanatics who anxiously waited for the RCT2 release. However, I must admit that RCT2 is just like an EP to RCT1.

For starters, the graphics haven't improved. They're still the same;not quite sharp, not zommable, less colors, etc. I'm not an expert when it comes to the techincal graphic aspects of the game but from a player's point of view, I must say that the graphics are not going anywhere. The funniest "feature" in the game was placing respective names in the guests and not changing the gender characters. Lolz, now we've got some girl names in a guy's body. Next time,RCT3 should feature different characters- i.e. male, female, children, old timers, fat, skinny, whatever whatever and not just the same dull guy figure.

The sounds are still familiar- those cheers, laughs though they have added sounds in the circus, etc.

The animation is still the same- dry, walking guests with a few additions- guests watching a new ride being built (?), guests watching other customers riding on roller coasters & guests taking pictures. Sadly, these few additions won't help.

Gampeplay is quite the same (with some new challenging scenarios) Quite easy, quite taxing.

And the biggest disappointment:
There should be an option wherein you can create a theme park with all the possible kinds of rides/sceneries/stalls. Heck, they should also have added the rides from RCT1 and from the other EPs.

The highlights on the game that I can possible think are the several new rides, attractions & coasters (first aid station, sandwich shop, hat stall, circus & others)

My Verdict: RCT2 is still fun, still has he same "old gameplay" and it is still addictive. But, RCT2 is only for the die-hard RCT1 buffs and other simulation fans. If you're a newbie, I suggest that you should check out first RCT1 (Gold Edition is a good pick). If you've got enough money buying RCT2 won't hurt you. If you're broke, don't mind saving your cash for this game. Save it for the real theme parks.

Awesome Game

An awesome game. You can build almost any type of roller coaster, water ride, thrill ride, food stand, etc. you want. It has a bunch of scenarios, and even some six flags parks already made! You can also make roller coasters crash, and drown people. It is the best theme park simulation game on the planet

Teenager calls this game, awesome!

I think this is a great game because you get to make cool amusement park rides, that are realistic. You can make them move at unbelievable speeds, and create rides that are unique in size and shape. You can even add rides from real amusement parks like Six Flaggs if you can't think of your own. I recommend this game for every creative genius!

Good, but not the first.

Not enough of a difference from the first one. It was fun, but [a higher costing]... upgrade for little features from the first. If you can find Rollercoaster tycoon Gold for cheaper, then you are good to go. If not, than this is good.
