This game is the best!!! There are not any problems at all. The only bad thing is after you can beat the computer players the games not hard at all. There are 57 missions that are quite challengeing. You can play this game online I think it's the best way to play. The graphics are detailed and they music randomly changes. I've never played a better computer game in my life.
The best game ever in the whole world!!!!!!

Starcraft is a real-time strategy that involves real fun game play and has a great plot involved in it also. It has three races you can choose from, that include Protoss, Zerg, and Terran. It requires a lot of strategy and skill,... Starcraft is a spectacular game that is just as good, if not better than the fantastic Age of Empires 2.
Blizzard Entertainment has made many of the best real-time strategy games, such as Warcraft 1, Warcraft 2, and their newest game that they are making, but is not yet released, Warcraft 3. Also, they have developed an another fabulous set of games, the Diablo set. ...
I think Starcraft is a stunning game, because there are hardly any glitches in the game. One major glitch, though, is that the units themselves are dumb in that they run in a line instead of staying in a group, and they can't find their way around the map, so they get caught. The game design is great, because it has many main characters and many different units you can use, depending on what your tactics are. ...
I enjoy Starcraft's thinking involvement and mind-boggling game play, but something they could have done different in the newer game, Starcraft:Brood War, is to make more races, and the Protoss don't have a long distance shooting unit, while the other races do.
I suggest someone who is ten years of age or older to play this game, because it involves a lot of thought process, and there is some animated violence in it.
As close to perfection as any game could get

If I had to name a game that ever got closest to perfection, it would have to be Starcraft. This timeless classic, first released in 1997, is still extremely popular, and tournaments are still broadcast on TV in Korea. I don't think I've seen any game that is more tightly designed and robust in gameplay, controls, and graphics, than this one. It's kind of like playing pool to me -- a game that is old, multiplayer, and has infinite replay value. However, just because it is close to perfect, it doesn't mean that it will appeal to everyone (chess is also seen as an "almost perfect game", but not everyone likes to play it). This game is RTS (real time strategy), and a fast-paced one too. To be even decent at this game, you must be able to navigate and coordinate with a keyboard and mouse with rapid precision and skill. If you're slow with your hands, and prefer a less dynamic setting (such as a turn-based RPG where you can take your time thinking through every move), this game is not for you. You need not only skill but also knowledge (discussions with other players, etc. are a must if you really want to get good) and experience, so if you like 3-d shooters with short learning curves emphasizing skill more than strategy, this game probably isn't for you either. What made this game really stand out when it was first released was the fact that you could connect to other players world wide and play with actual humans, not a computer AI (note that network-based multiplayer games were not so big in 1997). The intense, hair-raising, thrilling experience that this environment provided still continues today. As long as you're the right "type" for real-time strategies, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't try this game. A warning, however, is that this game is arguably THE most addictive game ever created. I've been playing computer/console games since 1985 (starting with an Atari 2600), and this game alone has probably taken up at least as much time as ALL the other games I played put together. Seriously speaking, because of its massive addictiveness, I might actually give this 0 stars and tell people NOT to play it.
Be careful... This game is like drug... Very addictive...

I bought this game in 1997. In 1998, I bought broodwar expansion. At that time, I've played at least 6 hours everyday no matter what happens.... I was highly addicted and this was ruining my life. In 1999, I broke starcraft CD swearing that I would never play this again. After final examination, however, i was so high that I loosened and bought this game again... After that incident, I played for 2 years...In 2001, I broke CD again because I had to prepare for very important examination. You know what happend? Only after 2 weeks, I couldn't help but buy this game again... This time, i made a pact to myself. I would play just for 2 hours a day. Ever since, I was able to keep up with my promise. I passed exam also!
I heard that Blizzard is working on Starcraft 2. You know what? After what I've gone through, I'm willing to pay up to $ 500 to purchase Starcraft 2. I would even consider spending a grand. This game is simply the best game ever produced in the world. FYI, I've played thousands of games throughout my life. I've played FFX, MGS2, pokemon games of Nintendo, etc. Nothing may dare to compare to this game even in the single player capacity.
If you go online, you would meet hundreds of thousands of opponents that will surprise you with tons of strategies developed for over past 6 years. I bet you would need at least 3 months long 5 hours a day practice to compete in the battle.net. If you do not dare to have that amount of commitment, you may better go for other games.
The most popular RTS of all time!

I had this game back in 1998. I played it so much that my dad broke the CD along with Warcraft 2 telling me that I can't play any games from now on. So I recently bought Starcraft Battle Chest Secretly (my dad doesn't know that I have this game) again. This game is so good because the system requirements are so low that I can turn off the game without turning off the whole computer. My dad leaves on the PC the whole time so I have to leave it on all the time. If I turn off the whole computer, he might suspect that I have been playing a computer game. I always play when he goes to some place until I hear a keychain or a footstep. I probably disconnect off the game more than any other players on the planet. This is not about the game but I just wanted to share it with you (every game that I own, my dad doesn't know that I have). Now, I'm going to talk about the game. The requirements are no problem unless you haven't bought a new computer since 1998. The gameplay is great and the graphics and sounds are good. The best part of all is the Battle.net. You can play 7 vs 1 comp stomp when you are in a hurry and play 4 vs 4 experts only when you have nothing to do. It is very addictive to play with others online and it it keep you entertained for hours everyday. If you want wins, play lots of comp stomp but it will not raise your skill as much as in expert games. I assure you that this game will keep you entertained. This is one my favorite RTS of all time and I highly recommend this game just as much as I recommen Warcraft 2 and 3.
Starcraft is the best game ever.

If I had the chance to buy just 1 game in my whole life, I would pick Starcraft, without any doubts. I want a copy of it, not because I don't have access to battle.net, but because I do believe that this game is really WORTH spending money and some of your time. I would pay 10 times more for it.
Starcraft Great!

The reason starcraft is so cool is that if you are the only one playing and you want to play against real people instead of computers you can go to battle net. The game itself is one of the best multiplayer games. It sounds so cool when you put twelve siege tanks into siege mode all at the same time, and when you blow up zerg zerglings with a siege tank it looks SO cool.
Starcraft is such a cool game.

The game Starcraft is one of my favorites. I like playing as the Protoss. They have really cool characters even if they look weird. I play this almost every day when I'm bored and play some custom games. The strategy guides are really helpful. They give unit stats, mission help, a counter list, and even cheat codes. In Starcraft there are thirty(30) missions and in Brood War there are twenty-six(26). There is a Campaign Editor where you can make your own Campaign but it does not run on my Mac OS X.
