I just have to say that this is an awesome game, very fun. Despite how much fun it is, there are drawbacks. Having to divide up in teams for battle mode is a bummer, but the addition of cpus is a plus. They started adding cpus in the ds version, and I find it a great feature. I love the battle worlds! If you have wifi, then you will love the wifi battle and racing features! The graphics are not very impressive, but this game is so fun that it makes any downsides too minimal to take notice of. Buy this game!

This game is lots of fun on your own with family/friends. The game seems to cheat at times and gives the poor suckers in the back the best boosts but it tends to keep the race a bit closer. Be prepared to yell at your TV and possibly fall of the couch as you lean into the turns as while "drift" through the tight corners.

The best mario kart yet

This game is great because it incorporates the old versions of mariokart with many new tracks. I personally think the best feature is playing against others online

don't need the wheel

Great game for the whole family. My husband and I were very excited about receiving this game in the mail. We were avid players on our N64. This one has so many more options for drivers, cars and courses that it's 10 times the fun as the old one. We actually play with just the controller and nunchuck instead of the wheel. I guess we're just too "old school", but our 5 year old has an easier time using the wheel and she does pretty good and getting better all the time. Our 2 year son is obsessed with just watching us play and he loves to be able to pick out the characters and cars he wants us to use. (it's always Mario and the car with the wings) Great game all around, I would recommend it for everyone, lots of fun!

Incredibly Fun!

My friends and I love playing Mario Kart! It is addicting, easy to learn, and incredibly realistic with the Wii Wheel. It is a great game to bring to parties and provides a nice change to the constant appearance of guitar games.

Here are just a few reasons you should get the latest Mario Kart:

-Online: I personally am not an online gamer, but lots of people are. If you're one of them, rejoice, because a console Mario Kart finally has online play. I tried it and wow...it's fun and easy (if your Wii is connected to wireless internet).

-Courses: Sixteen chaotic and creative new courses. A gold mine, a factory, a snowy mountain, and an active volcano to mention a few. Sixteen more courses were brought back from every previous Mario Kart game (including SNES!). I was disappointed that Wario Colosseum from Double Dash (my all-time favorite) wasn't included, but this is a great selection. And they may not be exactly the same as you remember...watch out when you're in Bowser's Castle from N64!

-Steering: Don't cop out and use the classic controller or a Gamecube controller to steer. Stick with the wheel from the beginning and learn to use it, just like you once had to learn how to use a joystick. It doesn't take long for it to become intuitive, and you'll wonder why you ever played a racing game with a control stick. You can choose to make the drift (like when you held L or R to make a sharp turn) automatic when you first begin, then when you're good with the wheel go back to manual drift. Oh...and you don't have to attach the wheel to steer with the wii-remote.

-Characters & Vehicles: Lots of Mario characters to choose from, or your Mii, and lots of vehicles too, including motorcycles, making steering with the wheel even more fun. Each race now has 12 racers at once.

-Battle: The multiplayer battles allow computer opponents if you ever find yourself stranded, and they are now team-based with 8 vs. 8 racers. Instead of a survival-match where the last one with balloon(s) wins, they are time-matches where the team with the most points at the end wins.

Bottom line, this is another Mario Kart game with all the patented quality that name carries.

this game will rocket you skyhigh its soooo cool how you get to race on the tracks from the others like the tracks from snes,n64,gba,ds,gc,and the new ones. also the traditional rainbow road(hard as always)its cool how you turn cause you turn the wii remote left or right to turn so unique its just awesome BUY THIS GAME!!!!

At some points it gets a little difficult to control, especially with the bikes. But once you get that under control, the rest of the game is a blast. I mainly enjoyed playing it with friends, and using the wii-mote and nunchuck configuration. Using the wii-mote with the steering wheel attachment was a little annoying to me, but others may enjoy. Overall the game is great fun for the whole family. I would recommend it to anyone who has more than one "gamer" in the family!

Ok, but disappointing

If you enjoy playing slot machines you'll like this game... the game play is mostly random. If you play with friends it's fun... but still not great. You might as well flip a coin and congratulate the winner. As for the Wii Wheel, it's total crap! Save your money. The game looks nice, but it's ultimately disappointing.

Great Fun, but Frustrating at Times

It is a beautiful game with great new and retro courses. Lots of fun unlockables and some great battle modes.
But can someone please stop the madness of constant explosions, spin outs and lightening bolts while playing the computer? That is the only real frustrating aspect of the game play itself.

And just to get this off of my chest: I will never understand why the Mario Kart character models look like they were made on the N64console...the character models from GameCube's Mario Golf Toadstool Tour and Mario Power Tennis look 100 times better than the Mario Kart models...I don't get it...but that maybe I'm nuts, LOL
