....but the game is waaaaaay too dark. Ya basically have to either (a) sit on the surface of the sun to see the game, or (b) sit outside while playing it. The game is very challenging which is good, but it gets frustrating when you cant find where to go. Great sound effects, good graphics, it feels like you are playing a super nes game. Overall a good game that could have been improved a little bit.
Great game for GBA

This game is sweet. Yea it dosent have the best graphics in the world but if you look at the overall background and scenery it's pretty good (looks just like what you thought dracula's castle would look like). It's gameplay perfectly blends adventure with RPG with active attacking but level ganing and magic. The environment and enemies are wicked and the story unfolds at the end very well. Bosses are really cool. If you like RPG and adventure, get this game.
It's too dark !!

I bought this game today and immediately returned it. The graphics were so dark that at times I felt it was unplayable. The store tried a second one in a second Game Boy, but it was the same. The actual picture looks nothing like the screenshots on their website, which were beautiful.

This is the first game I bought for the GBA it is also my favorite. The graphics are excelent. The best Ive seen on a GBA sidescroller yet. The gameplay and graphics take you back to the good old days of the SNES. As for the gameplay you will definely need to have good reflexes to control Nathan. Espeicialy when balencing on movig platforms while dodging medusa heads at the same time. As with any Castlevania title you will soon find yourself sick with rage at the unfairness of some of the levels and bosses. The sound in this game makes you wonder if youre playing a handheld or an older console such as the SNES. There is some animation and ounce again it is very similar to an older console game if not a little less. The major problem with this game is the lighting. The dark gothic graphics of the Castlevania world do not transfer well to the GBA.Even with a wormlight in total darkness some enemies are next to invisable and you will soon find yourself asking the question "who killed me?" I myself quit playing the game because I could not see the enimeis nor take full visual pleasure from the richly detailed levels. I hear that a GBA Floodligt clears up this problem. I have not yet purchased a Floodlight but plan to very soon. If you are a castlevania fan you will love this game. After you get over the lighting problem this game is easily one of the best titles available for the GBA.
Almost too good

This game is soooo awsome. iv played a lot of Game Boy Advance games and i just keep coming back to this one. I had ot loan it to a friend for a week, and i am [anxious to get it back], i need to play this game. Anyway this is one of or the best Game Boy Advance game out there, it has action puzzles and magic, what elese could you ask for? Anyway i highly recomend this game, the graphics are dark though so buy a Game Boy Advance light.

I have been a fan of Castlevania since I can remember. So naturally I couldn't wait for this game--the reason I bought my Gameboy Advance. And I wasn't disappointed. You begin the game attempting to stop the resurrection of Count Dracula. Arriving just too late, you are thrown into a pit while your teacher is captured. The game has a very large world (especially for a handheld) to explore in search of magic, armor, weapons and, ultimately, Count Dracula and your missing mentor. The areas are generally varied as with a typical haunted castle.
The music, like most Castlevanias, is great, featuring several remakes of classic Castlevania tunes. However, the screen is incredibly dark--almost impossible to see depending on what areas you are in. The dark screen really detracted from my gaming experience. Most Castlevanias feature at least very decent graphics. In fact, I can think of several Castlevanias that were considered groundbreaking in side-scrolling graphics. That part of the game is simply lost due to the dark screen.
Other than the dark screen I can find little wrong with the game. If you're looking for a game to travel around with, you may have difficulty--especially at night. If that's not a problem then this becomes a must have--much better than the Mario side-scrollers for Gameboy Advance.
This is a must have :)

Well, first of all if you played Castlevania Symphony of Night and U liked , then don't read more and get this title now, but if you don't played that then i will say something about this game: This is a 2d scrolling game, with some RPG features: kill enemies and get experience to gain levels, you can use combine diferent cards to create spells, you will need to get diferent items to access certains areas of the castle, and there are a lot of secrets as well. This is not the kind of game that U get , and finish rhe first time you play it. I am a gamer and i really recomend this title, in my personal opinion this is the best GBV title yet.
So far the best game for GBA~~~~~~~~

This is the first game I got. And it's by far the best GBA game out there. I tried other games, some are ROMs, none of them beats Castlevania. Though it's a bit dark, on a good sunny day, it's AWESOME~~~! Very good game play, good music, alot cool stuff you can use.
Bomberman Tournament is good too! The next best game that's coming out is: Golden Sun. That's the MUST have. Also, Tactics Orge (Knight of Lodis) is another hit~~~!
Avoid Advance Army Men and Hot Potatos. I do find Konami Krazy Car racing game funny~~~!
A classic series that's back on track

All in all, this is an exceptional title with few downsides. It recaptures that feeling that some of us thought might be lost when the 64 games became available. It's challenging but not frustrating to the point where you want to throw your GBA against the wall. It's a lot like Symphony, but it's different enough so as not to be a clone of that Playstation classic. So, if you're a Castlevania fan or someone just looking for something new with fair amount of challenge, this is your game.
Very detailed game

This game is very detailed meaning it has length, it is magical/fantasy, and it is a tricky game without a stradegy guide. This game is difficult because you will visit a place and a long way down the road you will be back again at the same place for a different reason. You have magical cards and hard bosses. The end is ok thats why it gets a 4. You can beat it 4 times having each time get you something different. Overall great game
