Castlevania was always a great series, but the best game was Symphony of the Night for the Playstation. Circle of the Moon is the same type of game. You don't advance through levels, but rather explore the castle. You will have to revisit areas you were at before. This is a great idea. And the new idea of the magic system is great. I am getting this game the day it comes to the stores and I would advise you to do the same.

I reccomend this game to good thinkers and people who like strategy games and long action-fantasy games. I first had trouble with this game but then it became easier to play though some bosses are hard.(use Holy Water when facing the IRON GOLEM)I liked the story, and its better to use a GameBoyAdvanceSP or a regular GameBoyAdvance with a light to catch the good graphics. Its very hard to get all the dss cards(unicorn and black dog are gotten in the battle arena). To defeat Draculas second formI reccomend URANUS WITH THUNDERBIRD DSS CARDS.Its a very good game, so buy it.

This game is awesome! Dracula is resurrected by Camilla, a young sorrecess lady. Nathan Graves, and Morris and Hugh Baldwin, set out to Castlevania to destroy Dracula once again. but Drac kidnaps Morris and traps Nathan & Hugh in the castle...
New DSS system allows you to combine cards to make awesome magic spells
New abilties like jumping off walls.
Sub-weapons such as Kife, Axe, Holy Water, Crucifix, & time clock!
Special attacks like the old ones! A definite choise to buy for GBA!
A series of hard games returns with...another hard game.

I admit it. I was addicted to the first CastleVania. I was a littler tike then, and almost threw a tantrum when I had to leave. It was like a drug in every respect - highly addictive and capable of utterly destroying you. It's not my fault it was so fun. Eventually I did beat it, years later, after so much practice and hard work I finally beat that last end boss. CastleVania was, and still is to me, the hardest game ever made.
Circle of the Moon returns the series to the Belmont family from the other (actually easy) CastleVania game: Symphony of the Night. And guess what? IT'S HARD. And it's just as addictive and fun (and hard) as the first CastleVania.
If you'll excuse me, I need to find a bottle of Rogaine for men. I just ripped out all my hair again. I wonder if I can take my gameboy with me...
Too dark to play

This game does not do any justice to Castlevania because the game's dark ambience is totally destroyed by GBA's poor screen. Don't even think about playing the game under anything other than ideal lighting conditions. You just won't be able to see much on the screen. I was foolish enough to buy the game to play on my subway commute but boy, was it a true nightmare.
The gameplay itself is classic. You scroll to explore the environments, so it's very easy to play. Konami should have lightened up the display and made the game GBA-friendly. Then I would have given it a three-star or higher.
Castelvania is sweet!

First of all the question you ask yourself when you are thinking wether or not to buy this game well heres the list:
-Excellent gameplay, dialogues and graphics -Outstanding story witch enables you to not only play the game, but also live the adventure -You may find this game a little boring sometimes but compared to all the other gameboy advance games this is the best for all the reasons above
Well I know this game has much more besides that I mention up there. Its true this game is quite hard for begginers or small children so I don't recommend it for children under the age of 11 because pussles would be too difficult or maybe even impossible for them to solve but if you are 11 or older try this game and you'll love it. Now about the story, "Its the year 1830 in an old austrian castle and a dark follower of dracula is attempting to resurect his dark lord, you (Nathan Graves) a vampirehunter arrives to the castle with Hugh Baldwin (Another vampirehunter)and Morris Baldwin (A vampirehunter and also master of Nathan and Hugh) trying to stop the dark lords resurection. But you were late and Dracula is reborn, as you enter the lair of dracula he sends you and Hugh to an underground lair, Hugh leaves trying to rescue his master and so your adventure begins.....".About the caracters:
-Nathan Graves: The hero and the person you use through out the game. You were chosen by your master as his successor and was therefore given the Hunter Whip. His parents died 10 years ago after banishing dracula with the help of.... -Morris Baldwin: Fought Dracula 10 years ago and with the help of Nathan's parents succesfuly banquished him. Father of Hugh and Master of both Hugh and Nathan. -Hugh Baldwin: Son of Morris and Nathans rival. He thinks he is a better vampirehunter than Nathan (yeah right!). -Dracula: Geezzz you don't know this guy!? -Camila: The minion of Dracula and also the reason for his resurection.
Well I bet you are already ordering this game so im only gonna tell you why i think this is the best gba game. Well the gameplay rules, the story through out the game is great, extremely detailed graphics,it lasted me much more time than any other gba game! and finally its simply in the castlevania series!

What can I say? The first GBA game I got was Castlevania - CotM. I had seen screenshots and was determined to play this game. Now, I am in love with RPGs. I have beaten most of the Final Fantasies, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana, as well as Castlevania SotN. I have waited so long for a good portable RPG. Finally it has arrived in the form of the newest Castlevania. Everything is excellent. The music fits each part of the castle. The sound effects are nice and quite good with some of the deaths of enemies. The map is huge, and that's before adding all the hidden rooms. The Special Items are almost straight out of SotN. The Gravity Boots have been renamed the Roc Jump (which is my personal favorite). The enemies are a little more difficult to destroy. I had difficulty with the first Earth Demon, whom I thought was a boss. The background of the chapel fascinates me every time I look at it. It just proves that the first released games for a new system show what the system can do. But over time, the graphics get better and better with each game. The only negative aspect of the game are the dark spots of the background. A GBA light will fix that though. Otherwise, this is a solid Castlevania and is destined to become a classic.
