This is one game you NEED in your library. Whether you are a fan of FPS or not, this is easily one of the best to come out on the PS3 thus far. The single player campaign is awesome, and the online multiplayer is a blast. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is tight, and it's just down right fun. This game has tremendous replay value and is worth every penny.

This game is amazing on any console. Both the PS3 and the 360 versions are great in every way. A must-have for any FPS fan.
Main story is a bit short but the game makes it up with Online Play.
Graphics - 5/5 (up to 1080p on both consoles)
Gameplay Value - 4.7/5
Online Mode - 4.9/5
Sound - 4.5/5
Weapons - 5/5 (Modern weapons that are completely up to date)

One thing the game doesn't have is Co-op play.
If anyone sees this game on sale and doesn't buy it has no right to call themselves a gamer or a console owner.

The graphics were AWESOME but the game itself isnt anything to get excited about, it only has a 4 hour campaign. Might be okay for online play though..

Definitely worth owning if you have a PS3. There aren't many great games out there for the PS3, so it almost feels like this is a must own.

Not having previously played the Call Of Duty series, I had much anticipated for this game after having the rave reviews for its WWII predecessors.
Being an active casual gamer and former US Special Operator, this game grabbed me by the neck and pulled me in. The graphics and realism of not only the weapons but the tactics, the sounds and the overall feel and environment brought me right home. I highly recommend this game for anyone who wants to be an armchair operator, Marine or ARSOC.
Cons: Lack of further modifications to weapons. Consoles need more maps for download to keep up, which is being addressed.

Overall: this is a close perfect. 9.6/10 Worth the purchase.

I try to keep these reviews as short and sweet as possible. So in the interest of keeping the Amazon server from crashing becasue of the Doctoral Thesis-sized rant I could go on about this game, I'll just say this:
I have never played a game that has so quickly and completely consumed my every waking moment(As well as some dream sequences), the way that COD4 has.

STAND-ALONE: It wasn't Game of the Year for nothing folks. The pace and playability of the campaign is amazing! I would have rated this game 5-stars even before I went online with it.

MULTI-PLAYER: If you don't know...you need to. Nothing touches this game online, END-OF-STORY!! There is nothing like watching a 5-star General go running past you as you sit under a truck with a sniper rifle. I don't care what your rank is online...the fact that you have a shot at taking out one of the big boys from time to time is where the addiction comes in. Before long...you'll have played so much, that YOU'RE one of the big boys. (No offense ladies...just a figure of speech.)

The single player is a bit short, but so what. The multiplayer is the reason everyone loves this game. I think it is right up there with Doom 2 and JB Golden eye on N64. If you like multi-player first-person deathmach action, then CoD4 will not disappoint.

I bought this game in December last year, I've been playing this game every single day since I purchased it, single player is really fun, long enough to get used to the fight, but the real fun is multiplayer, killing the other player is nasty you wont get tired of that, if you dont own the game, YOU SHOULD GET IT NOW, this game is a real beast, you cant go wrong with this game

I have never been a fan of the COD series but this game converted me instantly. I bought COD3 once I got my PS3 but returned it as I couldn't stand the gameplay. COD4 is one of the greatest games I have ever played. The multiplayer setup is great, and I play it so much I am only a couple hours in to the single player. I havent had this much fun on a FPS since playing Bond in college.
