My only complaint about the game would be finding friends in different servers. Should have researched some of Novalogic's menus. The first time I played the first mission my heart rate climbed off the scale. Very realistic graphics and sound. If only I could give it 3 thumbs up.
So real...

The incredible realism between the way the gun fires to how the bullets react with the scenery made this my favorite so far. I haven't even tried playing online yet but in single player mode, I'm more than content. Many war scenarios are depicted including typical infantry, covert type operations, sniper, and even gunner in a helicopter as well as my favorite, gunner in a AC-130 gunship with images and sounds that are just like videos from the news or online. And the enemy, very smart and hard to fight with grenade throwbacks, precise shooting, and even wounded, able to lie on the ground and fire their pistol at you. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves first shooter games.

I've been playing Counterstrike: Source for a couple of years. When a clan mate recommended COD4 I ordered a copy.
Call of Duty 4 offers a great deal of entertainment playing both single player and online multiplayer. The single player game was very challenging even on the lower level of skill. I had to play a couple of firefights over and over before I was successful.
There are numerous weapons to use. The effects are more realistic - you can't pump out repeat headshots and kills in most situations. The online play is challenging. Players can customize their profiles with a rewards and skills system. A well placed sniper will take out many, many adversaries unless someone flanks him.
All in all I recommend trying the game.

such a great game ever made by Activision.
you will be a war movie hero yourself while you are playing this game.
multiplayer game was not that great as battle filed 2 or others but played tons of times with single play mod and never got tired.

I have always played games on PC because the graphics were always better than any console. Since the new PS3 can produce HD quality graphics I broke down and bought one. I have played every call of duty out there and they get better each game with the graphics. I have a 51" widescreen hitachi with 1080i, and a yamaha 5.1 receiver with all Klipsch speakers. My God you feel like you are actually in the war! This game has the best graphics I have ever seen and the dolby 5.1 soundtrack is outstanding.
You will find yourself playing this game all the time!

First of all remember to check your video card and memory. I had all the memory but needed a better video card - so I bought 8600GT and it works wonderfully!
What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said, I'll say this - you will find yourself playing this game all the time!
The multiplayer is great - fast without any BS.
The graphics, realism, and intensity are fantastic!
Best COD so far

I know people who hate this series after it went to a modern setting, and being a died-in-the-wool WWII history "junkie", I was not too pleased with it, either. But the demo was terrific, so I knew I had to get this game.
But having played it through now, I have to say it ranks among the best FPS games I have yet played (and I've played far too many of them, including all the Dooms, all the MOHs, all the CODs - at least the PC releases, I do not own or play any console games).
I also do not do multiplayer online or off. Just don't have the time to bother with that. The single game was stunning in my opinion - but too short. But on the plus side, it being short meant I never got bored with it. The game was more like being in a movie - there was a fairly coherent storyline that took you from one part of the world to the next and even switching between the U.S. Marines and SAS seemed logical.
The ending blew my mind - I never felt so enmeshed in a game as I was during those last several minutes on the bridge (I won't give anything more away as it would truly spoil it for anyone who has not played this game yet). I truly felt like I was part of the game, part of a "real" event taking place. It looks like you're part of a scripted scene (and it is scripted) but then they put you right into the scene and you have a part to play. More games need to do this, and not just at the end. I actually had started to care about the characters I played and the ones that I interacted with.
The most difficult level is the sniper level. I actually went looking for cheats but never got them to work so I had tough it out and finish the mission without cheating.
The AC-130 gunship level is the most fun, in my opinion.
And that you can then play any of the missions again in arcade mode for high scores and you can also play the missions to see how fast you can get through the game, means the game has some longevity once you have finished the game. It's one of the very few games that I actually just might play through again.
My best tip for this game is to keep moving forward. Don't stop and go static, as you'll keep getting hit by enemies and die.
Best FPS I have ever played.

This game is possibly the best strategical FPS i have ever played, there is not one thing i would say is bad about this game, it beats out Halo by a long shot and your not limited to just Xbox since its also available for PS3 and PC.
