This game is very fun! This is the best sequel ever made after Halo. Halo 2 has a lot of new stuff. New weapons, new enemies, new vehicles, etc. The campaign mode is awesome, but it gets pretty hard on Legendary. The multiplayer is great after the new multiplayer maps and multiplayer modes were added on.
Thanks Bungie! You are the best game developers!

Like all the other people say this has got to be the best game ever created. The first level isn;t the greatest but the later levels are better. The scorpian tank pops up a lot more thab in the first one and the weapons are great except for the battlerifle it sucks. My favorite levels were outskirts, delta halo, and gravemind, the levels are long and full of twists and turns, the detail in everything is perfect, in delta halo there are so many ways to complete the level. The weapon called the enery sword is the best only it runs out of energy too much.Anyone who likes this game has to buy it, it is literlry the best game ever created

Xbox Live makes this game really fun. It takes a while to find a match so instead join a game that a person on your friends list is hosting. You join the match fast and you are with your friends.
Halo 2 is the best video game of all time.

I don't care that much about videogames. I don't even own a PlayStation, Xbox or Gamecube. But I went over to my friend's house to play this game and was simply blown away. From the graphics to the plot to the advertising, everything about Halo 2 screams "I ROCK! I'm the BEST videogame of all time!"
When I first started this game, it was like slowly sinking into a warm bubblebath-warm and very, very enjoyable. Halo 2 opens with the commander of the alien forces that lost to the Master Chief in the first Halo videogame. He is being punished. Then, the game switches to shots of the Master Chief recieving medals back at Earth. Even little things like that make people really appreciate how much time and effort was put into making this game. But anyway, there's a problem at Earth. The Covenant aliens have invaded and it's up to the Master Chief-along with an A.I program and some really amazing weapons-to beat back the covenant and, once again, save Earth from total and certain destruction. Sounds cool to you? You have absolutely no idea of how awesome the plot gets. But a good plot is almost worthless without good gameplay, and Halo 2 is the cream of the crop in that department.
The control scheme is tight, elegant and simple enough to become second nature in an hour or so. The option of dual-wielding weapons adds a whole new dimension to the game, as dual-wielding can hinder as well as help. You have to drop a weapon to throw a grenade or use a melee attack. And you know what? It makes it even better to see explosions and kills in the terrific graphics that Halo 2 has.
Halo 2 isn't THE most gorgeous console game ever, but it's definitely within the top ten. The plasma sword glitters with amazing detail, shadows are picture perfect and the backgrounds as well as foregrounds are beautiful as well as 100 percent destructible. Eye candy? Check. Gameplay candy? Check. Plot candy? Check. But even with all those great things, you're still left wondering,"Why does Halo 2 sell so well?" The answer is in the ads.
Halo 2 had one of the best advertising schemes of any move or videogame ever. When you looked through a magazine you would see the small but brilliand adds. You know the hyper-stylised "O" from the title? The ds showed that O with a 2 inside it. Then underneath, the realease date. For those who didn't know what the O standed for, Microsoft couldn't care less.
But, all in all, Halo 2 isn't so much a game as a work of art. Hey, go grab a copy. Game on.
Amazon messed this one up big time

I pre-ordered the game back in August but it still hasn't shipped. So, I just ordered another copy and bang, it's already shipping! What is going on with Amazon?
To make things worse, I can't cancel my pre-order copy of Halo2. I sent them an E-Mail asking them to cancel it for me but who knows. They might ship me two copies of it and that would make me very unhappy. I know Amazon is a big company, but when it comes to the biggest game of the year it's time to have your act together.
As for the game I have no dought it will be the best game of the year deserving 5 stars across the board. But Amazon won't let you post an unrated review so I have no choice but to give it my expected score and not lower its ratings because Amazon messed up with the pre-orders.
Love, shoot, kill - enjoy.

Graphics: 4/5
/-1: Graphical glitches curse Halo 2, including twitching bodies and slow-loading textures (officially called 'texture pop-in'). This greatly reduces immersion and can be incredibly annoying.
/-.5: Textures in game, even after fully rendering, are very bland. Textures from the original Halo (3 years older then the sequel) dwarf the sequel's in sheer quality.
/+.5: Character models and cinematics excellently done. *SPOILER* The Flood are especially creepy now.
*Comment: It seems it might have been better to use the old Halo Engine then the new one, which sacrifices many things taken for granted in the original.
Sound: 4.5/5
/-.5: Some weapon sounds from the original were replaced with weaker sounds. I won't get all technical about why the weapons don't sound the same, the bottom line is they don't sound as cool.
*Comment: The in-game music is top-notch.
Gameplay: 4.5/5
/-.5: Several weapon's ammunition limits are ridiculous, which makes for using, perhaps the weapon you like the best, unreasonable.
*Comment: The action this time 'round is much faster and more furious, which is better or worse depending on opinion.
Overall Presentation: 4/5
Comment: Overall, the game's presentation is very good, the cinematics are nothing short of spectacular, if one manages to see past the texture pop-in.
Reviewer's Score: 4.5/5
Total Score: 4.3/5
Percent: 86% B
BOTTOM LINE: Halo 2 is a very good game that will be remembered as an over-hyped, yet fun game to play...if you can see past the glitches and obvious potential it had.
Dont' know why Halo/Halo 2 is getting so much praise?

In case people didn't know, games like Halo/Halo2 have been around since 1997. People with PC's/MAC's know what I'm talking about. It just so happens that the X-BOX brings this ancient genre to home consoles and it was a hit. Now don't get me wrong, Halo/Halo 2 is a solid shooter, and probably was the first Shooter brought to homes consoles done right. Put that all aside and it's just average or okay. In an example all can understand, it's like driving a Toyota Corolla, it's good, but we've seen it all before and there's no need to buy one when there are so many other good choices out there, and especially not go out and pre-order a 2006 Toyota Corolla in record breaking numbers. If any game this year should have got the recognition that Halo 2 received it was DOOM III. DOOM III did some truly spectacular things and actually had some history to it, versus Halo, I feel will go down in history as a one hit wonder. A good amount of people are very disappointed with Halo 2 and are calling the first Halo the better release. : (
There is no true ending, just a cliffhanger. Boring.

Halo is still the flagship game for Xbox. Halo 2 is truly a let down. There is no true ending to the game, just a cliffhanger to get you to buy Halo 3. I bought Halo 2 on opening day played through all the difficultly levels (all but legendary, which is way harded than Halo) and have not played is sense. As for the flood boring boring boring. The playability of Halo 2 doesn't even compare to the playability of Halo. And yes the graphics in Halo2 are great, but the game turned boring real fast. Plus you can finish the game a lot fast than Halo. Last words: Rent the game first.
Awesome... must own if you have an xbox, just skip the "collectors edition"

No need to buy the collectors edition - it's just the companys' way of making a few more bux off each sale. The extra DVD that came with it... I have no clue what's on it because I've never taken it out of the box. Once I started playing the game, I could have cared less what was on that extra disc.
Just buy the regular version. The game... AMAZING.
