Anyone out there who enjoys playing platform games owes it to themselves to pick up this gem. From the moment I popped the game into my PS3, I was blown away by the sharpness of the high definition graphics and sound. I know this is going to sound cliche after reading other reviews of this game, but it really does feel like you are controlling the lead character in a Pixar animation movie. Ratchet will travel all over the galaxy, meet robot pirates and strange creatures, deal with a wannabe super hero, and acquire enough weapons to satisfy everyone's needs. The story was a little light for me, but I think this is par for the course for platformers. The vehicle sequences in this game are really fun, and it's the first PS3 game I've played that made decent use of the SixAxxis controls for a few key parts of the game.

The puzzle solving sequences and boss battles are really fun, and the game is never frustrating. I never felt like I got stuck in the game and that's the way I like to play through. The missions in space remind me of classic shooter titles, and were very special for those of us who grew up playing games like r-type in the arcades. There is plenty in the game that will bring a smile to your face. All the ammo is so cheap and there are plenty of depots all over the place. You'll find yourself just experimenting with all of the weapons on enemies just to see what they do. The groovitron is definitely one of my favorites. You just know Insomniac Games had fun developing this title. A *MUST* have for the 2007 holiday season.

Great game for the whole family...

Ratchet and Clank TOD is a great game. It's lots of fun. Each level is interesting and has it's own challenges. For those who want more, there are a lot of things to pursue (golden bolts, hologram parts, etc.). The graphics are excellent and produces a full HD (1080) image. Not only that, it's absolutely fantastic to see all that is going on in the background. This game takes full advantage of the power of the PS3 in a way that no other game does! Not only that, but my kids enjoy the game and there's nothing that I find offensive in it that would worry me to have little ears hear. My only issue with the game is that it seems a little short, and it was a little on the easy side. But that also makes it a little more fun and relaxed. Also, the kids can play it without much of a problem. The nice thing is that once you complete the game, it gives you the opportunity to play it all over again with all of your upgraded weapons and the enemies are more difficult. You can, at that time, make any upgrades that you didn't make before, and you can buy the "Omega series" of 3 or 4 weapons for low low payment of millions of bolts. But you also have the advantage of a "bolt multiplier". When you defeat enemies without getting hit, your bolt multiplier increases. That makes it easier to afford the millions of bolts prices. Regardless, it's a great game, lots of fun, and really playable more than once. I give it 5 stars!

This is what gaming should be; Fun, way over the top gameplay that controls like a dream; Every 5 star review here is right on the money; The graphics are crisp and detailed, colorful and overwelming; The classic Ratchet humor is in tact, too!! Just can't find a fault with this game....it sets out to be a fantastic, beautiful, fun platformer, and succeeds on every possible level. Buy it!!!!

I was never much of a Ratchet & Clank fan, even though I've owned a PS2 for almost 7 years now. But Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction had me instantly hooked. Intense fun and fast-paced gameplay, jaw-dropping graphics, and great humor make this a definite buy for PS3 owners. After your first playthrough you can replay the game in Challenge Mode, where all the enemies are stronger but you get to keep all of your weapons, bolts, armor, etc. Between Challenge Mode and the many collectibles, you will definitely want to play this game again. And again.

There are few games out there on ANY console that can offer the same level of fun, graphical capability, replayability, and production values as Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction. You're simply not taking full advantage of what the PS3 has to offer until you play this game. If you don't like TOD, you probably have no soul. =D

I was looking for a game that my 10 years old daughter could play in our PS3 console. The available titles are very limited for kids and teens. I bought this game as a gift for my daughter without great expectations; however I have never imagined that we will be fighting each other for the opportunity to play. The fun and action are endless. The control over the characters is simply amazing and full of realism. The graphics and sound are great if you have a 1080p HD TV and the console connected to you Home theater via a HDMI cable.
I like this game better than most of the adults-mature games that I have played so far. If you are looking for a great game look no further, this is the one.

Wow what can I say. One of the best games EVER. Not only is it a great storyline with rich characters, mixed with great humor and great game control but there's practically endless amounts of weapons that are upgradeable. This is just a great, fun and clean game for anyone that likes video games.

Yes it's geared towards a younger audience but I couldn't resist testing it out and wow! Gameplay is amazing! The story is interesting! Voice acting is way way up there! and the graphics are phenomenal! I beat it fairly quickly but you can play it all over again with all your weapons and bolts and upgrade your weapons even more! Give this game a shot! It's not the most challenging game but it's fun!
