My Story on the game Jak and Daxter

I have a lot, and I mean alot, of games at home, and a lot of systems. But this was the best game ever. I got through it without a strategy guide! It was a little hard when I first got it but it became easyer like the rest of my games. I sat in my room almost the whole summer trying to get through it. But I got the whole game done on this very day. It does not matter if I beat the game, I can always start over again as much as I like.

It's an awesome game. I've never been bored of it. Wonderful animation stuff, music, and a steady flow of the story.

A Game Thats Better Than Ratchet & Clank G.C.!!

It was my first time renting the game , it was ssssssssssooooooooo CRAZY!!!!! It was like Lord Of King The Two Towers mixed with Rachet & Clank! The Accories are:Controller &
a 8MB memory card.

In this game they have strong characters!! If
this was Nintendo it would be like Kirbey, Mario & Zelda all toghter in one whole game, anfortunally that would never be such
a game there for they have made this game instead.

If you like Rachet & Clank Going Cammando or Jak 2 or trying to find better games/graphics than those 2 games, well you've come to the right place!! Amazon always have the best games at the best prices!!

P.S. If your parent's ain't ganna let you buy beg for it if that doen't work tough luck!!

I got Jax and Dexter game as part of a bundle and I have to admit it was the game I was least interested in. The box looked silly, the name sounded dumb, and the game seemed to be made just for kids. I basically bought the bundle for the other games and J&D was the last one I played...

It turns out I was quite wrong: J&D was easily the best game in the bundle and one of the better games I've played over the past 15 years as a gamer.

The graphics are great, the gameplay is superb -- all of those things are better described in other reviews. I will only add one thing that might help you decide whether or not to buy J&D: do you have fond memories of playing the old school Super Mario Brothers as a kid? If you answered "yes," then you should check J&D out. I haven't had as much fun with a game since I was a 10 year old kid with an 8-bit Nintendo. That "Super Mario Brothers" feeling is what I felt when I played J&D...

I rented this game and thought it was great.I rented it thinking it would be exactly like Crash Bandicoot,but it was not. The graphics are great and the controls are good. The bottom line is that this game is great.

Run, kick, punch all in a smooth, no pop click action. This game definatly uses the PS2's best abilities for gameplay. Jak, the main character is on a mission to stop all of the comotion on Misty island. His best friend, Daxter, is his side kick who later in the game gets half taken over by a dark force called dark eco. If your are looking for and action packed adventure with no bloody stuff, this is the game for you!

Sure, it may be little more than a hybrid of Crash Bandicoot and Super Mario 64, but it has extremely polished gameplay and loveable characters: Jak, the mute, spiky-haired hero, Daxter, the motormouthed furball, Samos, the old and crotchety Yoda-esque sage, and his hot and intelligent daughter Kiera. Much of the gameplay consists of "collect X number of bronze eggs/Power cells" with some hoverbike action and a few minigames in between but it's still darn fun. All the levels consist of one giant, seamless world with gameplay ranging from the ridiculously easy (Senitel Beach, Geyser Rock) to the unbelievably challenging (Spider Cave, anyone?) My favorite level is the Atlantis-esque Precursor City. It's extremely fun to play, although the game could use a few more boss fights.

The only flaw in Jak and Daxter is the completely unoriginal plot. It doesn't affect the gameplay, but it must have taken the guys at Naughty Dog about 5 minutes to come up with the story for J&D. Here it is: J&D explore a forbidden island that must have been inspired by the elephant graveyard in The Lion King, and Daxter falls into a pit of dark evil stuff and is transformed into an otter-weasel hybrid: an "ottsel" (ooh, how original!) The entire game revolves around the pair journeying north to find the only guy who can change Daxter back (who, of course, turns out to be a bad guy). Along the way, they must fight off enemies called Lurkers (again, how original!) and interact with artifacts from a lost people called the Precursors (can't we be more creative than that?)
But overall, J&D is an almost perfect platformer. Jak 2 and 3 are superior and much more complex and adult-oriented, but that just makes Jak 1 that much more one-of-a-kind.

For Christmas, I asked for this game, thinking it would be something just to keep me busy on boring days. When I got it, I put it aside thinking "I'll play this later.... maybe." But when I finally decided to play it, it was the best game I have ever played! I played it for 3 hours straight without getting tired of it. If you are looking for a good adventure game for PS2, I would highly recommend this game.

when I first read that naughty dog was going to make a different game besides crash I thought it would be great I am glad to say I wasn't wrong it is the greatest family game if you love this game try crash bandicoot and the wrath of cortex its cool but doesent touch jak and daxter by a mile

I just got this game and it's the best of the best. parents if your thinking on getting your kid a ps2 start him/her out with this game.
