I can finally skate like the Hawk!

I've been playing this game nearly every day after work, and far too much over the weekends. It just gets better and better, I'm always finding new objects to skate on, new tricks to pull, and new transition combos. It's fun by yourself but even funner (and very competitive) with your friends.

Forget Tomb Raider! Can Laura pull a 180 Indy Nosebone to One-Foot Smith Grind to Ollie Impossible in a shopping mall! I didn't think so.

I'll need cybernetic hands by the end of the year if I keep playing this much.

we all know tony hawk is probally the best skater in our lifetimes. what thps brings us is 10 pro skaters to choose from(including hawk)to beat the game with. i got the game 1 week ago and i play it every day and i still haven't beaten it. its fun trying to bust sweet combos and wiping out and then your skater gets right back up and tries again. thps is something that is guarenteed to keep you busy. and thps2 is comming soon. check it out at!

This game is very fun, while it lasts anyway. The graphics are great, the music is fantastic, the moves are cool, and the levels are cool too. But even though it can be a little challenging, the truth is, the game is just too short. The game is not enough of a challenge, there are only 30 tapes in 6 levels with three competitions, and the game takes no time to blaze through. Even though it is harder to combo, the game often gives you more points than it should. If you're just going after three gold medals, a person could beat this game with two different characters in a day. If you're going for all the tapes, it depends on the person. Maybe a day, maybe two. There isn't much depth to a lot of the gameplay, and it gets old really quick. The length of the game and how easy it is cut two stars off the game's rating. The game had more potential than the hype and what it really was, but for now, and even in the second, it's not much...

tip: to do a boardslide or grind, jump on an edge and hold down the triangle. That kid's review was by me that said hold down square. SORRY! seriously, hold down triangle. You do not have to avoid holding down triangle when not doing a trick. Although,
still do avoid holding down square because it WILL make you fall
for no reason.

one slight problem with the game... you cant do manuals. So what right? well maybe, but I like them because if your running out of time in a compitition, you can do cheap manuals.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater is a fun game.

PROS:
1)really fun
2)levels are huge
3)2 player mode good
4)alot of tricks and specials
CONS:
1)graphics are choppy
2)characters are jaggy
3)controls get difficult in small areas
4)gameplay gets a little repedative

So if you have a playstation and are looking for a good skating game don't go for Tony Hawks Pro Skater (go for the new ones). It was good for its time but is now old and out dated.

Pros. Very easy, beatable without codes
Better music than the N64 version

Cons. The secret tape in Sanfransisco is very hard to get
Graphics are very choppy

get this game. thats all i have to say. in my opinion you won't be disappointed even though i was able to think of some cons.

this game is TITE! I just played this for the first time and got the controls down pretty quickly. Most of the time I could only pull kickflips and easier grinds. But once I did pull a 720, it was so phat. Next, I think activision should come out with a X Games for playstaion, N64, and dreamcast.
