Man is this game fun! My wife even likes to play it. The graphics are incredible as is the framerate. I wish there was another course, but the two you get are HUGE. I'm not really into driving sims so this game was just what I was looking for. Also, the music is very cool. I'm not a big Offspring fan (I love Bad Religion), but it works here. The music makes you wanna drive like a maniac.
Arcade Perfect!

Here is your chance to drive wrecklessly and to cause chaos and mayhem. Great Characters, great music (Offspring & Bad Religion), great gameplay, great graphics! Arcade mode and Original mode are two diffrent maps and they are both very diffrent from each other. Crazy Box mode is bunch of mini-games specially designed to perfect your skills. Getting the #1 ranking in arcade rules is quite a challenge (trust me, it took me alot of Crazy Driving to get there). The Dreamcast is the first true arcade pefect console with arcade pefect games!

One of the most well-done games I have seen since at least Zelda 64. Images are silky smooth, soundtrack is awesome, gameplay kicks, etc. Just like the arcade but "tweaked" worth the $50- trust me on this one, a sure-bet!
Alright.......Less than expected.

Well, it was okay, it just wasn't exactly up to my expectations. There's really nothing wrong with it, but it really is just a arcade game put onto the dreamcast, and nothing more. I just was really expecting like a career mode, like in tony hawk pro skater. So, there's not really anything wrong, it just falls short of my standards. If all you want is not to have to go to the arcade and spend 20 quarters just for a half an hour worth of fun, then go ahead and buy it. But otherwise, I wouldn't recemend it.

This game is fun, but after you've got the gist, that's all folks! I will try other's suggestions to play it at a party - but I don't play it by myself anymore.

Crazy Taxi was one of those games in the arcade that was so fun you'd spend up to five bucks playing it. Now with the Dreamcast on its' way out, this is one of the games it will be remembered for. The breakneck speed, superb graphics, adrenaline pumping music from The Offspring and Bad Religion, combined with the fact this game doesn't get old and rarely do you get bored. You can find it now on PS2 and Gamecube, but this was the game that showcased what a great system the Dreamcast was. Also recommended with this is Jet Grind Radio and 18 Wheeler.
great game...but it gets old

When I first got this game it was alot of fun.
Pros:Great graphics, good control, mini games
Cons:ONLY 2 COURSES, ONLY 4 CARS AND DRIVERS
After a week or so, I stopped playing it completly. Buy it if you want it, but it WILL get old.

This is a terrible game. It's a good idea with a poor execution. The game might sound fun, but it isn't. The steering is too fast, the controls are awful, and there isn't enough variety.
The steering is too fast. Whenever you turn, you turn too far, and so you futilely try to correct. Basically, you NEVER follow the path you want, and you swerve NONSTOP as you keep overcorrecting. Trust me, all I play is driving games, and I am not some sort of novice. A racing wheel might help.
As in all Sega Dreamcast driving games, the accelerator is the right-side trigger, and the brake is the left-side trigger. The controls cannot be reconfigured as they can be with PlayStations and Nintendos. The steering stick on the controller has too much resistance and isn't grippy enough. You can't really keep the stick partially turned without turning it all the way or not at all. I never got used to the controls after weeks of play.
There are only two different cities in which you can play, and there are only three drivers. How about at least four cities and five drivers?
The graphics are great.
Great racing game! (But is it really racing?)

I bought this game used in August 2000. Now you can buy it new for half the price I paid. Figures. Oh, well. To start the review, I must mention that this is NOT a racing game. It's actually a mix between an action game and a driving simulation. But that's what makes the game so fun. Thanks to Sega, you can now take a job you would probably hate, and at the same time, have the time of your life. The object of the game, obviously by the title, is to pick up passengers and take them to their destinations on time. Sounds easy right? Well, not exactly. At the same time, you've got traffic with cars just waiting to get in your way, huge cities that are pretty easy to get lost in (assuming that you have the code to turn off the help arrows), and a fare clock that keeps ticking away no matter how much you beg it to stop. Leave it to Sega to take the most aggrivating job in the world, and make it seem like paradise.
Graphically, there is a lot to like in this game. The cities are modeled beautifully, including pedestrians that jump from in front of your car just at the last second. The game also sports a smooth frame rate of 60 fps.(Except in certain parts when a ton of action is on the screen, then it drops drastically. But right afterward, it shoots back up to full speed.)
The sound is also top-notch, with music by The Offspring and Bad Religion. In my opinion, the song All I Want, by The Offspring, fits the tone of the game perfectly. The sound effects are cool as well, as customers yell at you to pick them up, and then complain that you're driving too slow. But sometimes their language gets out of hand. Sorta. Therefore, the game has a Teen rating.
Overall, if you're looking for a game with loads of fast-paced action and excitement, and also one that lets you be a real-world cabbie, without having to break your bank, then you needn't look much further than Crazy Taxi. It's one of the wildest rides you'll ever take.
Almost perfect

Hey, some of you guyz are probly saying, why did he give it 4 stars, its a 5 star game! Well dont get me wrong, this is probly one of the best dreamcast games. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that there is only 1 level to drive around in, but it is a pretty big level. and you dont get a whole lot of time.(well i take that back, you can set the time limit) But All in all crazi taxi is definitly a must have for the collection. Id give it a 4 1/2 if it were an option.
