My 7 yr old and 10 yr old daughters love this game. They could spend hours playing if I would let them. We have now had this for three weeks and they haven't tired of it yet.

I have played or owned every mario Kart game in existence... and I expected the DS transition to be better than any of the other ones. The guys at Nintendo almost... ALMOST got it right. But, By paying alot of attention to the multiplayer aspect of the game (Wi-Fi and such), they didn't develop the single player mode as well (more innovative items and Karters would make it better...) thus losing some of the overall value of the game. It's a good game, but Metroid Prime hunters has a better single player mode, so MPH is a better Value. Try it instead (or get both if you can!)

this game is ment for the people who love Mario kart because it has courses from all the systems the kart has been on and a neww feature to unlock characters like my favorite Dry bones and to unlock more karts. The graphics are better than n64 and playstation 1 and almost as good as gamecube. This game i recommend to everyone who just wants to have fun expessialy if u have wireless internet that is fun i like to play with people around the world. [...]

Mariokart DS is one of the most entertaining games out there and best! there are alot of karts to choose and characters! there's Yoshi (the best character to choose and cutest!), mario (of course!), Luigi, donkey kong, bowser, princess peach, toad and wario.
I EVEN ENLOCKED FOUR NEW CHARACTERS!!! THERE'S DAISY (A BRUNETTE AND ORANGE VERSION OF PRINCESS PEACH), DRYBONES (HE'S A TURTLE SKELETON), WALUGI (I BELIEVE HE'S WARIO'S BROTHER) AND R.O.B (HE'S A ROBOT). I ALSO HAVE MIRROR CLASS TOO!
the bad thing is there is not alot of new tracks to choose from, BUT VERY GOOD GRAPHICS. overall it's still a pretty good game and it will keep you occupied for HOURS!!!!

I got mario kart for my birthday and it had a lot of games. In the beginning of the game you have 8 characters and 12 karts. You can get 8 grand prix cups in the game.
