Mindless, yet addictive

I will admit that I'm not a big fan of racing games, but I am completely addicted to Mario Kart. With an easy interface, this game gives you three levels to compete at, along with time trial and the option to race another DS owner.

A couple of friends of mine were discussing how much fun real racing would be to watch if you got to throw things at the other drivers and if they had to go through the kind of obsticles you find in this game.

Exceptional game; truly a must-have title for every DS owner that ever played and loved any Mario Kart game. Probably the best in the MK series overall, particularly with the welcome addition of native Internet play. Wireless local mode works without a hitch as well. Can't say enough how much fun this game is if you love arcadey racing. 5 enthusiastic stars!

Graphics are nice, control of car is great. Characters look excellent. Plenty of different road courses, I will be spending many hours over the next couple of months trying to master each course.

Nintendo has done a great job with the mario kart series in the past, and this game blows them out of the water with more challenging tracks and classic ones, a new mission mode, and the biggest part of the game, the wifi online support, which lets you race against 7 friends around your area. pick up this game now, and have one of the best online portable racing experiences of all time!

Mario Kart has been a franchise that I've always loved; it's simply the Mario world put onto a race track. I've played every Mario Kart game since the Super Nintendo version, and I must say that this is most definitely, in every single way, the best of them all. Here is my review.

Graphics: 9/10. Smooth framerate ( somewhat choppy in WiFi mode ) in single player, great animations, nice looking tracks... this is a really good looking game, but they are not as good as they could have been. The graphics could have been cleaned up, and the game is somewhat glitchy. If you "snake" around a corner and almost hit the wall, you can see through it. It's nothing bad, just something to take note about.

Sound: 9/10. Everything Mario. The karts sound good, the voices for the most part sound really nice ( except for DK and Bowser; it seems like some really bad impersonator tried to do their voices. ). The music is also really good... then again, what in this game isn't?

Control: 8.5/10. It takes time to master "snaking", but once you get the hang of it, you will be king of the track every single game. The controls are very simple if you don't include using the "snake" button; all you have to do is drive... that's really it.

Fun: 9.5/10. 8 player local, 4 player WiFi, 4 unlockable characters, 16 new tracks along with 16 classics, 36 selectable karts... this game has got it all. A downfall for this game though is definitely the blue shells. I constantly will find myself on the third lap about to cross the finish line, get hit by one, and get into second or third. It doesn't matter though; THIS IS THE BEST DS GAME OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. Hell, the only REAL problem for this game is that you will probably wish your DS's battery life was a lot longer.

just when i thought nintendo lost its fire came mario cart ds. i first played on friend ds. loved it immediatly. so much i bought my own ds. this game is no ordinary racing game. there are new items
bullet bill- your car turns into a bullet and is invinsible. it speeds you ahead and destroys anything in its path
sqiud- sprays ink in all ememy racers screens
boo- turns you into an invisible ghost and steal an itemn from someone.
gold mushroom- yes toads special item from double dash is available for use by every one.
it also has new characters: ROB and dry bones.
by far the best feature of the game is WIFI. i have one word of caution about wifi. beware the japanese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the will kick ure ahhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Mario Kart DS has to be the best game for the DS. It has graphics that are even better to the N64 (Or even on a level; the Gamecube) Its on-line play feature is awesome, but still has a few flaws.

PROS:
Great Graphics
Easy Controls
On-Line capibalities
Fun to play over and over again

CONS:
On-line feature only allows 4 people to race at once
"Retro" Tracks (appart from the Gamecube and some N64)Are EXTREAMLY BORING (EX- Peach Circut: Everything is pretty much 2-D appart from the racers)

All in all, this game is one of the best out there

This is the best game I have EVER played. It never leaves my DS. The graphics are great, awesome sound, great GP mode, very good. The Wi-Fi function makes this game worth its weight in gold * 1000000000. The ability to unlock features and racers and even karts make this AWESOME!!!!! VS Mode is worth playing forever, along with battle mode. Owners of Mario kart 64 will recognize Block Fort. There are also 16 classic tracks to play on. SO QUIT READING THIS AND BUY THE STINKIN' GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Mario Kart DS is a very cool game. If you have a Nintendo
DS, you must buy this game. This game has new tracks and even

It is the greatest game for DS of all the ones I have played (22). You get to explode cars and you get to blow up people in the combat match and vs match. And it is one of the best racing games. Not only do you get to race, but you can blow up people:D. But you get blown up also:( I advise you to get it, it's much bettter than that *@%#! King Kong.
