Still a Classic after all these years

007 came out in the late 90's, and here we are approaching the late 00's....and it's still one of the best shooters ever! Some people say games like Doom or Quake revolutionized the 1st Person Shooter, i COULDN'T DISAGREE MORE! Goldeneye was def. the first groundbreaking shooter title. Maybe those games came out years earlier, but they lacked in originality! 007 will forever be remembered and known as the first GREAT shooter! No arguements w/that.

Goldeneye is now three years old and counting. But it is still one of the most popular, and best, games on the Nintendo 64. The game has great graphics, great sound, great music, great control and excellent weapons. From slapping your foes and using Bond's PP7 to a Moonraker Laser and even the Golden Gun, Goldeneye has it all. Some people at my school have complained about this game because the say the badguys die too fast and the way Bond kills guys with his bare hands. But that's their opinion (There was a time were I would have cared, but that's another story). Besides, these problems barely scratch an otherwise excellent game destined for greatness.

If you want some first-person action, I would recommend on getting this game. If you have seen the movie, then the game is even better. You get to use many different weapons and gadgets. And for people that are novices, you can play the agent mode to make it easy. Trust me, this is a game you don't want to pass.

Super Mario 64 may have been the revolution but this is the point where everything you thought about video gaming has changed. First person shooters are normaly redundant where you just ran around shooting bad guys with little regard to story line or even structure.

This game actually has a story line and each mission has solid objectives you must complete before you finish the level otherwise you must redo it. The characters are as solid as they were in the movie and you interact with them in a very life like way. You have a wide range of weapons you can use(all real life weapons just with the names changed). The multiplayer mode is timeless where you can fight up to three other players in complex arenas using any weapon you can choose.

The game is not without flaws of course. For example, if you drop a tracking device you were suppose to put on something you fail the mission. Why can't you just pick it up and place it correctly? The animation is very realistic but the facial expressions on the characters are static. For example, if a guy is happy he will remain happy even when he's dying with five bullets in his head. Some of the objectives are pointless such as destroying the gun drones and the weapon cache in the Jungle level. The game doesn't follow the movie completely. For example, The plane on the runway is just sitting there instead of you having to chase after it on a motorcycle.

The landscapes are beautiful. Just check out the snow levels and the jungle level. This is a fantastic game that any wideo gamer should own. When you have finished with this one be sure to check out the semi-sequel Perfect Dark.

P.S.
This game can be extremely frustrating at times.
Just try doing the Aztec level on 00agent mode and
you'll see what I mean

Goldeneye is "smashing"

Goldeneye lookes like just another shootem up game, but it is more than that. Goldeneye takes James Bond to the next level.

Pros: graphics are great
4 player is fun
lots of cheats to make the game even better
alot of characters to choose from

Cons: a little to easy to beat
no voices during game play
not alot of multiplayer levels

In the end Goldeneye is a great game and I recommend it to anyone.

Simply the best...

It IS the best action game EVER! There are 20 levels (18 from Goldeneye movie, 1 from Moonraker, 1 Aztek) with GREAT graphics. There are also many cheats you can activate and make game more interesting... This game is a "A MUST HAVE" for every gamer... You will never get bored because there are 3 difficulty modes with different objectives at each one (So 3x20=60! ). There is also the multiplayer option, availabe for 2-4 gamers! You can choose from 50 characters from Goldeneye and other Bond movies (To get some of them, you must have finished all the levels). I have finished all the game, earned all the cheats and I am still(after 2 years) playing it. You see there are lots of things to do and explore at it, so I think this is the best game I've ever played, and I am now waiting for "The World Is Not Enough"... You'd better BUY GOLDENEYE NOW!

I LOVE this game. The graphics are great, and the enemies react realistically when you shoot them in different areas (Imagine how much fun I had shooting them in the leg and laughing sadistically when they ran over to the alarm limping). The Multiplayer mode is also very entertaining, giving you different characters to choose from, and a dizzying array of weapons that you conveiniently find on the floor along with ammo. I found this game to very replayable. Do one thing different, or at another time, and things can change drastically. In short, I highly reccommend this game to anyone, even if they didn't like the movie :D

This game is the greatest game ever. I am a huge 007 fan because of this game. A review posted by a 10 yr gamer said that this game is only good but not great and i respect his opinion. But there is no way Tomorrow never dies is better. Its ok but definitly the worst bond game. I would shoot a guy in the head with an assault rifle hed go ughh and keep firing after about 3 more shotts in the head he finally died.the only real gun u ever use is the assault rifle besides p7k. so this game was ok but by far is not even close to GoldenEye.

Is one of the best games available for the Nintendo 64 game system. Single player missions require quick reflexes and fast thinking to overcome the AI. The multiplayer version of this game is one of the best I've seen yet. An all-around great game.

I loveeeeeeee this game. It's cool because its like your in the Goldeneye movie. Even though some of the levels are PULL YOUR HAIR OUT TOUGH!!! Like the Jungle and Control Center levels. And some are so easy a THREE year old can do it! Like the Runaway and Train levels. They also give you rewards for being perfect on your mission.I still cant get the last two levels. I also like how they brought back some old bond characters for the multiplayer. You can be Mayday(view to a kill) Jaws(The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker) Oddjob(Goldfinger) Baron Samedi(Live and Let die)and stupid but true you can be a Moonraker Elite. I reccomend this game because it is non-stop FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
