Limited LAN ability

Touts itself as a great LAN device yet customizing for multiplayer contest is extremely limited. Aircraft responses are more like flying a Bomber rather than a fighter in combat. For a Microsoft product one would expect a higher level of performance. If you're looking for a realistic flight simulator don't rely on this one.

I am a newbie to sims, but this game is horribly difficult to learn using a keyboard. The instruction booklet primarly refers to using a joystick in explaining things. Maybe that is Microsoft's way of telling you that it is near impossible to fly a WW II era plane with 40 different keyboard commands. Even if I thought I could memorize all the commands, the game does a poor job in training a rookie like me. Other games take you through the learning curve step by step, for instance prompting you to try a gentle turn and then correcting any mistakes you make as you repeat as often as neccessary. This game tells you to "study and learn everything, and then fly!"

If you have a joystick and perhaps some experience with flight sims, this might be worth renting to see if it is for you. But as a game, it feels too much like work at the easiest setting using keyboard commands. It is just no fun.

If you consider this your life (I dont, ok, all things straightened out) its like you have ur job, a house, a steady paycheck, a good amount of money in the bank, a nice car. But there is something missing, its like, not having a wife or girlfriend. Its missing something, I dont know what, but there is defenitley something missing, well, I dont know

I have already wrote a review of this game saying how great it was. Well now that I have played it for over a week, IT STILL IS THE BEST COMBAT FLIGHT SIM OF THE YEAR!! Bombing enemy airfields shooting down Me 109 bf s and blowing up bridges. I love the Spitfire and the Typhoon. But really, I like to fly them all. I dont recomend IL-2 if you dont want to fly all over the eastern part of Europe. I especially like that I can be 3 different countries instead of just Germany and Russia. But then again I dont have it so I wouldn't really know. If you have a new and very fast computer, BUY THIS GAME!... And if you buy it because of this review, and you arent satisfied, than I am not satisfied.

i give it one start because i didt found 0 star option, i played this game only 1 hour and i hate it, very boring game. dont waste your time and time.

I ordered this game a couple days ago and am HAVING TONS OF FUN. I have a PC with 512 RAM and a 96 Mg Intergrated graphics card with a 2.5 Ghz Processor and it runs perfect with the sliders at 4. Great game for anyone who loves WW2 and dogfighting.

If I could, I would rate this with a trillion stars. It is the greatest flight simulator I ever had. I have also flown FSX and FS2004. I hope Microsoft will come out with a new combat flight sim even better than the one I already have, CFS3. Even my sister likes flying this one. But she is crazy with the machine guns and rockets and bails out whenever she feels like it just to watch her own plane crash and blow up when it hits the ground. The money you pay for it is really worth it.
