I completet the game and it is AWSOME!!!!!!!!! so cool improved gfx and the bt 2.0 is so cool but the bt is a little to fast and you get to play 2 diffrent people.

BUT THE ENDING is so SAD!!!! :'( WHY didnt they make it a happy ending?

Tedious, extremely difficult, and full of the "F" word.

Mp2 starts out twice as difficult as MP1 ever was and has now way to change the difficulty level (HIGHER difficulty levels are unlocked when you beat it once). That's probably great if you devote you life to video games, but for a casual gamer like me it boils down to a LOT staring at the quickload progress bar. Right off the bat you're thrown into rooms full of guys with uzis and hand grenades firing continuously. Too often your life meter is halfed before you even have a chance to duck.

And that's when you actually get to PLAY the game. Between the lengthy still frame storyboards, the frequent cinematics, the loading bars and the dream sequences, MP2 squeezes in some short stints of actual game PLAY almost as an afterthought. Hey guys, I wanna watch a movie I'll rent a video--they're cheaper.

I put the bit about the "F" word in my title to warn parents who may get begged into buying this for their child thinking the mature rating is only for video game "violence". MP2 takes profanity to a new level with the usage of the "F" word on par with typical R rated cop movies. Of couse with its M rating it has every right to do so--just thought I'd point it out.

Great graphics save MP2 from a one-star rating. You can interact with just about any object in the game and the dynamics of how things react is spot on. Barrels roll down stairs, bodies flop about convincingly, crates teeter, fall and bounce, etc. Too bad they didn't make a game worthy of it's graphics.

This game is heavy with emotion!

Max Payne 2, the continuation of Max Payne, is everything I expected it to be. The story is even more driven, deep, and dark then it has ever been with its amazing storyline: it captivates you in such a way that once you finish the game, you're thinking "what a game". Its plot is that influential -- the dialogue and the storyline show to you what undying remorse is like -- the theme of the game.

Graphics and gameplay are fantastic with visually stunning detail to everything. You turn on the slow-motion sequense, like in the movies, and you experience gameplay never before seen in any game like this. Once in a while the slow-mo kills of enemies, picture perfect, really adds to the replay value of the game. Graphics, again, are solid and entrancing.

The orchestrated music is really taking its effect on making the game show the darkside of Max Payne's life--it is so heartbreaking. And sound isn't generic at all, which makes it even more real for a game like this.

This work of art is something you don't want to miss. Not as long as the first Max Payne, but the storyline in this one is painfully shown in each and every step of the way of Max Payne's life. This game has enough amusement that you'll think about how writers create such impressive storylines.

The Fall of Max Payne is definitely worth your time and I suggest you get this very deep game!

Awesome game, but short

This is a great game - similar enough to the original one so that it won't alienate existing fans, but with enough new things to spice it up. The new "shootdodge" feature is awesome, plus it doesn't use up any bullet-time. I especially love the graphics during bullet-time when reloading.

Gameplay is smoooth, much like the original. The storyline is a definite improvement, as it involves love, deception, and betrayal (rather than simple revenge). Graphics are fine, with more realistic facial expressions and greater detail. Very good sound effects as well. The computer AI was sophisticated, although there were some instances when enemies failed to react until I went over some imaginary boundary. This made it easy to pick some of them off from a distance. The larger arsenal is nice, but no major innovations here.

The main downside is the short nature of the game. This was also a problem in Max Payne 1. I guess it helps keep the game fresh, but it seemed over way too fast, even for my short attention span. Also, the final "boss battle" reminds me a little too much of the first game. (Why do bosses always like high places?) And the dream sequences seem to be getting a little stale, although there are no annoying jumping puzzles. Overall, though, Max Payne 2 is first-rate entertainment. It almost seems like a movie in some places.

Started out nice but turned out to be boring in the end

Yeah, it's souped up a bit but don't let the big time praisers fool you. Trust me, whether you're an occasional gamer or a hardcore gamer, you'll wish you didn't bother buying it once you're finished. Now it's clear why they wanted renting software to be outlawed. Even then, you could borrow it and within 18 hours or less beat the game even in the hardest mode and all secrets found.

P.S.: Notice that all the people who praise this game pretty much repeat the same nonsense. No wonder this game never got anywhere and suffered from really poor sales !

Another gaming masterpiece from rockstar

Max payne2 has some of the most memerable graphics on the pc to date. The story is very well done and in some what
way cheezy. I love story may have made some gamers mad but it didnt bother me what so ever. I have beatin the game but not on dead on arival mode. Its suppose to be the real ending. IF ANY BODY DOES REVIEW THIS GAME CAN YOU TELL ME!. my computers not workin for a while so I cant play it. The game is very good looking speciaLLY that mona sax.

THe sad thing for ps2 and x box owners are that they took out some NAUGHTY stuff that they have in the pc versian.

If you got to the part with mona naked thats all you get to see...........NOT!....there is a cheat that rs put in the pc versian that enables players to play mona...IN THE NUDE!....and yes every thing is detailed and yes you can see her you know whats and down her you know what IM talking bouts.

Overall the game has a good gameplaying experience that well keep you playing untill the end. I still want to know how the real ending is. The graphics are what will get you to play.

a little bit short thoe, the game is but still it is a memerable game to be played. Im mostly not complaining bout the price because I got the game for 34.99 at fries electronic...and no it wasnt used it was on a half price sale crap but stil

BOTTOM LINE IS GET THE GAME. later..........

Good game play and as fun as the original, however the dream sequences were a royal pain in the ass and completely disrupted the flow of the game.

Is it just me or are the game makers taking heavy drugs whilst designing these games?????!!!!

Too short to be true

It's funny how some people will stoop to low level lying like 5 year olds just to desperately hype or actually resuscitate a boring game like Max Payne 2 which is hardly better than the first except for perhaps the slightly sharper graphic details and slightly more flexible movement such as moving or knocking down a box but beyond that crapshoot at best. Even with the harder skill modes, after the first two levels, the game gets easier after that. In fact, half the time in the game you don't fight anyone but instead run aimlessly through a maze with Max Payne rambling more baloney with his droning voice. Best bet would be to get it at a cheaper price like below $13.

And good luck waiting for Max Payne 3 since it ain't likely to come.
